Hey Mia! You have fine hair, and it's really dense. Density refers to the number of hairs on your head, and the fineness is referring to the diameter of the hairs themselves.

I’m a dense yet fine hair person too. What saved me from waves just falling out was using products BEFORE putting in the curling apparatus. A thin holding clay or a sea salt spray worked best for me as other products were too heavy on my hair or I didn’t like the texture it left. We have similar hair so I do hopes this helps if you try it. Also, I know some people do it with damp hair but my hair NEVER dried.

As a fellow Psoriasis struggler that does anything to avoid a steroid cream I have a few tips that hopefully help!!
    1. Shampoo with a regular shampoo that fits your hair type first.
    2. Use the Psoriasis shampoo. My favorite is actually over the counter and called Dermarest Psoriasis shampoo. I alternate that between my prescription one.
    3. When applying the psoriasis shampoo focus only on your scalp. Don't get it in the rest of your hair.
    4. Scrub the shampoo into your roots with fingers or a shower scalp brush.
    5. If the shampoo gets on the rest of your hair don't be afraid to rinse it as long as you aren't rinsing the scalp.
    6. Leave it in for at least the recommended amount of time before rinsing
    7. I get prescription spot treatments I can use on bad spots on my scalp between washes. I also like to use the Gold balm ultimate psoriasis therapy cream on my hairline and behind my ears as needed. It works!
Hope this helps someone! Sorry it's so long! 😊

Hey Mia! You should really try to keep the shampoos for the psoriasis on the scalp and wash with a more moisturizing regular shampoo on the ends. If you wanna keep ur long hair, try to avoid using those harsh shampoos anywhere but the scalp. I also suffer with that issue and have long hair. The waxiness and tangliness will cause ur hair to break off and fall out on the lengths. It might take longer in the shower, but its totally worth it.

Mia, those curls are so pretty and you look great!!
I use this method quite often and it always does wonders for me, I love it! So here are some tips for you to get even better and more long lasting curls, first of all, while twirling try to hold your hair really tight, don't let your hair go loose on this thing you use for this method. Second, your hair should be little bit more wet than in this video, what I do is I spray all of my hair before I start and then every strand I take I spray separately a little more. Also you can put on some hair mousse while spraying, just a tiny amount for each part of hair before twisting. Make sure your hair have completely dried out and then check how it turned out~
I hope it helps and the results will make you feel even more surprised and happier~~
    Love you! 💖🌸✨

    Hi Mia!
I’ve struggled with psoriasis for 22 years now and have tried all kind of treatments that didn’t quite help.
After all these years, a doctor that also had psoriasis, prescribed me a cream and it worked like a charm. After 22 years getting worse and worse it disappeared in 2 weeks, and now I just have to use it as maintenance twice a week.
Although if you just have it in your scalp it might not be great for you since it’s a little messy…
But thought I’d let you know since I would have loved to know this before. The name is “Clobetazol propionate”
Hope it gets better for you! ❤ I know how uncomfortable it can be.

I've had psoriasis since i was 12 (I'm almost 28 now) and have always felt so alone because it was never talked about so I really admire you for openly talking about it. I tried a ton of treatments that didn't work well for me and was on Otezla for a while, but it eventually became ineffective and it worsened my depression. I've been on Skyrizi since January and it's been working super well for me and I don't have any noticeable side effects. Definitely recommend it if anyone else who suffers from psoriasis sees this!

I have the same over night curler & I’m obsessed! Top tip is to tie the back in a knot a bit like how you did on the bath robe rope hack 😊 & also take the clip out 😊 it will be so much comfier to sleep in and the front won’t fall out. You may also get tighter curls at first but it does mean it drops a little better xx

  • @chwethington

I love that you talked about nothing in the back. I literally have two curlers and will do one for each half of my head for that exact reason. I also find that if you take a piece from the front then the back and wrap it almost like a braid (it’s hard to describe in writing, Kayli Boyle explains it well) it looks a little better because it adds variety to the direction of your curls.

Immediate thumbs up from a fellow psoriasis girl 😅My doctors told me that cortisone treatments for PS were considered to be outdated, I was prescribed a Methotrexate injection once a week and it's done miracles for my body and scalp.. I'm so tempted to buy this now, but I also really want to see someone with wavy hair try it. Mia's hair at the top is very straight and her natural waves are super relaxed, but mine is super crimped. So all of these popular hair curling methods end up looking bad on me cuz the hair near my scalp isnt smooth at all.

      @rebekahcroft3395 2 роки тому

My hair is quite wavy when i air dry naturally, i normally style it into natural curls, I've tried this method and it is very hit or miss, it almost gives TOO much volume and just doesn't fall super good, but it does look very good in a ponytail! Hope that helps? You can try it with a robe tie for a similar affect to save the money before too

    • @Aitherea
      @Aitherea 2 роки тому

@@rebekahcroft3395 I havent had much luck with the robe ties :c usually my hair ends up looking frizzy especially near the top. Even if i do get some nice curls/waves, the top part of my hair just does not look sleek enough for the rest of the style.

I have equally long fine thick hair with same issue. My hair is so “slippery” so nothing ever lasted. But now I found a technician that’s helped me SO much. Put mousse in your damp hair then wear the noodle overnight then in morning use a texturizing hairspray and most importantly DRY shampoo. It makes me hair last for HOURS.

Hi Mia - I’ve found that a SUPER EASY nighttime hair routine that works well for me is putting my hair in two or four rope/twist style braids (depending how large you want your curls to be). It doesn’t require any special products, and it has worked great for me to get nice overnight curls!

I also have similar hair and I love this curling method. Honestly everyone thinks i heat style my hair every morning. The truth is i wash rarely and curl every night (unless i want it straight). It's best to use it on freshly washed and dried hair. I put some oil on my ends. I suggest you clip the noodle on top of your head so it doesn't move while you wrap. I do each section not too tight but tight enough so that when I take the clip off and sleep with it on it doesn't get too loose. Also after wrapping I like to put both ends of the noodle at the back of my neck and tie it once into a "ponytail" with a scrunchie. It stops it from moving while I walk around the house etc and then I take the scrunchie off to sleep. My hair is like Mia's and towards the middle/end of the day the curls turn into beautiful waves. If I want to keep the curls I repeat the process that night (and every nigh until i wash it) - brush, few drops of oil, wrap, sleep. It also keeps the hair out of my face, silky and frizz free (I love to use oily creams). Another tip: wrap your hair before your shower at night and tie it back and up. The steam will make the hair more curly.

Thank you for mentioning psoriasis! I was soooo insecure for years before I found coal tar shampoo (1%) and PURA D’OR MD Anti-Hair Thinning Shampoo w/ 0.5% Coal Tar. These two products really help my inflamed scalp and now I’m basically flake free. I use my pura every 2-3 days and my max strength coal tar twice a month as a cleanse. This routine helped boost my confidence and I’ve recently started wearing dark color clothes because I’m not scared of the flakes anymore. I hope this helps anyone! Cheers ❤

I have long hair that falls fast too but I started using styling foam on my hair when I do overnight curls, I work in sections and apply it to my wet hair, brush it through and then use whatever overnight method I’m doing for the night. But like I said section by section otherwise my hair starts to dry and it doesn’t work as well. Then in the morning once it’s all dry, I undo whatever method I used and brush my hair so it doesn’t feel crunchy. It ends up feeling like nothing is in it. I use the Frizz ease dream curls styling foam by John Frieda. It’s been super helpful for me

Hey Mia, for the psoriasis what I've found is amazing (not a cure but 100% helps calm down the flair up) is Lush's "Soak and Float" shampoo bar. I even rub it over my elbows etc, and it really helps! (And it's only like £9 here in the uk and does work well as a shampoo so isn't a waste if it doesn't work as well as you'd want it to)

I was doing it for a totally different reason (looking at you, incurable strep throat!) But I noticed my skin broke out when I first started on it, then cleared up to much healthier skin, and most of my dry scaly patches have disappeared. Looked it up, and apparently it's a thing?! Anyways, I love the way your curls turned out... Might have to invest in one myself!

I too have dense, fine hair and its a nightmare! Also, I have scalp psoriasis and over the years I've found the best thing to do has actually just been bleaching/dying my hair! I also recently got an undercut put in (where my psoriasis is the worst) and its allowed the sun to bleach it as well, which helps to get rid of it!
Not for everyone I know but just what I've found helps me manage mine 😊

Hey Mia, I don't know if anyone else mentioned this...but I also suffer from scalp psoriasis and the shampoos can be crazy bad for the lengths of your hair. So I wash my scalp with the psoriasis shampoo, then wash the lengths of my hair with better shampoo. It saves the lengths of my hair from being horrible!! Just a little tip for you 😉

I feel your pain girl on the psoriasis! I've had it all my life (a looking time). At least the prescription shampoo they have now is much better than what they had when I was a teen. Pray it never gets into your ears...it's near impossible to get rid of!
I just wanted to say you have "fairytale hair". So beautiful no matter how you wear it. 😍😍

I have long hair, it’s very fine so it tangles a lot as well. I sleep in 2 loose braids, alá Wednesday Adams and I really recommend it. You’ll have your hair out of your face and it won’t damage while sleeping 💖

Idk if you read comments two days later, but I have the same kind of hair as you and the key to making them last is letting your hair dry while wearing it. My curls will last for literal days with no hairspray no joke. I let me hair dry like 50ish percent then wrap it, blow dry for like 10 minutes to get it more dry, and then sleep on them to fully set overnight. Game changer

I also have psoriasis especially on my scalp - I use T-Gel shampoo, it's brown and looks kinda tar-y, but it works and doesn't leave any scent or dry out my hair. I put it in and let it set for a few minutes while I do the rest of my shower routine and wash it out last.

omg, i literally just did this for the first time successfully the night before last and then last night as well. it was sitting in my room for the last 5 months and suddenly i decided to give it a go. i got a lot of compliments. worked better the first night than the second. i did not keep the clip in though. you definitely have to do it dry. that's so funny. huge bonus for me is that it's helping me not sleep on my face, which is great for my skin and my nose ring.

I use a robe belt!! It’s thinner so the curls are tighter and don’t fall out as much

Do you clip it in? The clip is what gives me major headaches so I was wondering if a robe belt or rags would work better for not giving me a headache. Just having a ponytail gives me a headache 😓😅

I’ve had psoriasis on my scalp sense I was young also! It’s a pain in the butt and I’ve had terrible flare ups lately but using a sugar scalp scrub once a week or so could maybe help and the shampoos are soooo drying but get a really good conditioner I use the orange nexxus and it helps my hair stay soft
Love you so much Mia ❤❤

I use this same method, but instead of that roll, I use hankerchiefs tied together. The curls will be tighter, but It'll be much comfier to sleep in and stay in better as your hair doesn't slip off. Been doing it for years now! I recently cut my hair short and the back is now too short to reach the front so I tied a 3rd to go to the back and wrap 3 sections. Great results! You can also make around 8-10 sections and fold a hankerchief double and wrap your hair in 8-figures around the hankerchief. It gets a bit zigzagy wavy but it's very fun and last so long in comparison!
For all these methods you need to first roll up the hankerchiefs! You can also use hairscarfs or long socks. I have used both methods while having hair thats as long if not longer than Mia's!

Hi Mia!!😊 I don’t know if you did this or have tried it before, but when I do overnight non heat curls, i always slightly dampen my hair before I rap it. I don’t have this specific product, I just tie two knee high socks together and do the same basic rapping method. I have about the same length hair as you and it works great for me! I don’t think I’ve used my curling/straightening iron since I started using this method lol. I definitely recommend trying it out! Love you and your channel so much💕 I’m 15 and your super inspiring with all the work you do for charity and even growing such a successful business!😊 Love you, your supper amazing!!!

Your hair is absolutely beautiful Mia! 😍I’ve been doing heatless curls for my hair in over two years and can’t go back to curling irons. I actually just use a bath robe belt and it does such a great job! My hair is naturally straight and never holds curls. The bath robe belt is so comfortable and best of all it gives me beautiful curls that last for days. For the ends, I actually like to twist both ends and tie them up on top of my head. It helps tighten the curls more and I get more of the back of my head. You should definitely try a bathrobe belt sometime and see what you think. 🙂
