Hi, You only need an impedance changing buffer pedal with the adapter cable. It can be any guitar pedal as long as it has a buffer. The Pin-5 adapter cable connection allows single note inputs to the GR-55 for synth sounds. Synth-lead sounds are good, but pianos and articulated instruments will sound poor. Previous GR synth units generally do not have a normal-guitar input and cannot pass comment. The adapter cable also has a pin-5 String 'A' connection, allowing mono single note v-synth PCM triggers. It is pretty crude, sounding best with 'synth-lead' type tones, and string pad tones. Articulated instruments like a piano sound poor - just like a GK3 hex pickup. Little did I know until confirmed by the manuel, that you cannot use MIDI in which is a real waste! Hi, It will work with a wireless system connected to a buffer pedal > cable adapter > GR-55. A GK pickup preamp like a GK3 is not used. The cable is all about access to P7 normal-guitar, which the GR55 does not have. The advantages are obvious, as you can use the GR-55 as a complete effects unit, plus take advantage of a clean normal-guitar input. Ideal for studio recording, and a much better specification compared to a multi-effects unit.

@@melodycentral7883GR-55 piano tracking is terrrible, everybody knows that. Also P5 is only mono, so you cannot play more than a single string. GR-55 tracking is ok with strings and pads, but forget articulated instruments. P7 GR-55 normal guitar is excellent with a buffer pedal.

@@melodycentral7883GR-55 piano tracking is terrrible, everybody knows that. Also P5 is only mono, so you cannot play more than a single string. GR-55 tracking is ok with strings and pads, but forget articulated instruments. P7 GR-55 normal guitar is excellent with a buffer pedal.
