@@jjrpoektl1925 fair! I’ve definitely been in that position and that makes it super tough. I ended up with very painful swollen feet and legs, it’s pretty dangerous if you’re prone to blood clots too.
That foot hammock is a bane of the person in fronts existence. You are rocking that person continuously when you move your legs. I was on the receiving end of this hammock for a 12 hour flight. I couldn’t sleep cause of it. I asked the person to please not use it and luckily they were kind and stopped but it could have gone another way too. Please don’t purchase this!!
The alternative is either choose an airline with footrests in economy (there are some), or bring hard-sided carry on and put your feet on it (obviously not during take off and landing when it needs to be stowed).
Some airlines do not allow the usage of that foot hammock as the table isnt designed to support that extra weight and it’s annoying for the passenger in front when you move while using it.
I can confirm this, as I took 3 a flight (asiana) 3 days ago from Korea back to Europe. I bought a similar hammok from daiso, but a flight attendent banned me from using this type of product.
Same, we got a hammock with pillows to make the seat into a bed, and the airline announced they don't allow any foot hammocks or child seat hammocks unless there is an official numbered FAA approval stamp on the product.
it jolts the seat and causes movement on the person's seat in front of you. every time you move and place your foot , they can feel . for a 16- hour flight , that is too much inconvenience.

mechanical engineer here. nah the tray will be fine. it’s designed to take on a certain amount of stress in the material. as long as the stress is low enough it won’t fail. fatigue failure might be impacted by the foot rest but i reckon it’s not anything crazier than someone sleeping on the tray, which i reckon happens more often than someone using this product.
Those foot hammocks are horrendous for the person sitting in front of you. Had a trip where the lady used one of these and it kept moving my seat. Most uncomfortable flight ever. Don't be that person.
@@nostalgicsimsnah, everyone has a right to recline anytime they wish, unless its take off/landing time or eating time. It’s stupid to have that small bit of comfort while packed like sardines and expect people not to use it.
@@Handlehandlehandle320 it barely makes enough difference to justify the trade off. The way they pack in seats these days, seat-reclining other than during sleep time for everyone (like when they switch off the lights on a long haul), is not a practical function.
@@regiereg0808 For safety reasons, as it can be a blockage to a passenger's evacuation in case of emergency. I got the info from industry workers and they also said it breaks the meal tables.
Pro tip, put your smaller bag under the seat in front of you under your feet as a footrest if you're short. It doesn't jostle anyone and that's where they usually have you stow them in my experience anyways.
Please check with your carrier first if you can use the foot hammock. Some airlines won’t allow them as they can break the seat mechanism. Those arms connected to the tray tables are designed for a meal tray or a laptop, not the weight of your legs.
😂 That foot hammock made me laugh! Many already commented how annoying they can be for the person in front. But also, if you are a tall person like I am, you are just grateful if you can find space for your legs, no way that hammock would work for me on a regular economy flight 😅
My mom taught me to use slippers and rest my feet on top of my backpack when its stored under the seat in front of me, it makes a difference and I use the same slippers in my trip
bought a pair of kizik shoes for a trip to texas and it was one of the best purchases i’ve ever made. they’re so easy to slip on and off. they’re so comfortable too!
If you are ever flying to Korea or anywhere close by I cannot stress this enough, *fly a Korean airline!!* I was blown away by how amazing the food was and how good the customer service was. Plus the Incheon airport is so clean and organized, they will never lose your suitcase there. As an American I was completely blown away, the other big airports I have been to in the US have been so dirty, chaotic and disorganized with expensive, bad food, I didn’t know airports could be like that. I have a lot of friends who travel to and from Asia and several people recommended me to fly a Korean airline.
Thanks for the info on the neck pillow. I recently flew back home from Georgia and realized that I really needed one of those for any other upcoming flights. Originally I considered a cheap one from my local Daiso, but yours looks very comfy so I'd rather shell out for one like that.
I totally have and love that seat cushion! I'm stuck going to dialysis for about 15 hours a week, and without it, my backside and back in general absolutely kill me. The cushion makes it so much easier to sit there for five hours at a time without moving. Only downside is the chair I'm stuck sitting in is too big too so I have to be careful sitting down on the seat cushion to keep it centered.
I have that neck pillow and it was a game changer. I can’t really sleep on planes, but with this I get a couple of hours of light sleep. Doesn’t sounds like a lot, but it make a big difference.
The best, I guess, would be compression stockings, noise cancellation earphones, a neck support pillow (not that kind), and a back support with that seat pillow. Great.
There is no way you don't feel that. It's been years since I have flown anywhere and I still remember how annoying people behind me could be with their knees (even accidentally) and putting their tables back up etc😂 it's like you feel everything 10x worse lol
Yes, to the Cabeau neck pillow! I have never found a neck pillow I actually like, but a friend recommended it when I recently flew non-stop from Los Angeles to London. It was a complete game changer, and let me get at least 6 hours of decent sleep. I started texting my mom and sister as soon as I landed that they needed to get one.
When I was doing my master's, 10 years ago, some physic's student had made a make-shift foot hammock out of trash from the lab. That thing was AWESOME! I could sit in front of the computer for hours and analyze data. Looked quite similar to this 😊
I'm saving this video to look for those things as soon as I can later today! The only one I already have is the neck pillow that I was lucky enough to find one that was *perfect* for me on a random store some 10 years ago. But I used it so much that the fabric was disintegrating, so I had to make a copy of it and put the old filling in it, but now I have it for some 10 years more 😂
I travel with a space saving blow up neck pillow, a pillow that turns into a blanket, ear plugs, and wool socks. But im def gonna check out the silicone seat cushion and foot hammock! Great idea!

I just bought all 3 using your link! I’m excited to try them as I got a 16+ hour flight to Vietnam as well later this year! Thanks for sharing these! I think they’re gonna be a life saver!
Suggest an inflatable Foot Cushion instead of the hammock. Have one myself. The table may not support the hammock .. with feet in it.. Will definitely try the gel cushion👍
I highly suggest compression socks and getting up frequently, not only for comfort but sitting down for 18+ hours can cause blood clots even if you aren't really high risk for them. And if you are, you could take a mild blood thinner too like aspirin
These are literally the three items I recommend to everyone going on long haul flights! Especially the cushion and foot hammock, I got a cushion that gives support for your lower back as well and it was a life saver. Also, I have that same Cabeau neck pillow! It’s the best one on the market, it supports your head and neck like no other.
No joke a small pillow for lumbar support changed my entire flying experience. I used to get really horrible cramps in my legs and glutes, but the lumbar support completely stopped that.

Not to mention the front seats which don't have a tray coz it's in the front. And it's useless for tall ppl too
