    I did this for years for my 2000 navastar t444 I built a centrifugal from a washing machine worked great I pulled a 3 car trailer all over never gave me any problems also ran straight used trans fluid for fuel and used veggie oil truck had 575000 miles on it

    Still mixing used motor oil, but now finding that half of what we mix does better with 5:1 ratio of used motor oil to gasoline. We are also now straining the oil before we put it in the plastic drum then adding the gasoline into the drum and stirring it. This thins the oil and it goes thru the filter much easier and quicker. There is less smoke and more power. You can safely go 4:1 or as high as 65/35%.

    I think if someone is doing this for a diesel engine, make sure the fuel is thin enough. If it's too thick, it's hard on the fuel pump and harder on the injectors. This also causes issues in the winter months when it gets cold. I also mix my oil with gas. In the summer months, I run a 80:20 ratio. In the winter it's 60:40 ratio and sometimes 40:60 if it gets real cold and this isn't even for a regular diesel, this is for a multi-fuel engine in my M35A2.

  • @michaelbenoit248
    @michaelbenoit248 3 роки тому +2

    He should be diluting with some gas cuz it gets a lot thiner, & if done right it’s almost just thicker than reg diesel. One key to using gas is you need to let it air out, & let the vapors dissipate.
    But as a diesel guy I have noticed a little more power w my mix than on straight diesel.

    Are these kits still available anywhere? Would it hurt to run it through something like Amsoils filtering system and a centrifuge before hand or is it not necessary - just don't want to have to buy injectors or pumps. Also like the idea of gas mixing - sounds cheaper.

    If fuel prices get real high then I do the gas oil mix method but when their at or under 3 bucks a gallon I simply filter 2 gallons of 5w/30 into a full tank of offroad diesel it make the fuel brown and it reduced the smoke output. I also do think it stops algie from growing in my fuel tank. Black diesel got me thru 2008 in my vintage 240D

    ive gone through two sets of injectors now on a 2001 7.3, truck ran great but after about 5 k the internal orings would wear and fuel would add to my oil sump increasing the oil level and severe power loss, i think its because of the huei system and the thicker black diesel is harder to push out nozzle so pressure is higher causing blowby back to the actuation pressure side and damaged the orings. im gonna try it now with a 12 valve, i think the pintle injector should be ok. ratio ive been running is: 25 gallon 15w40, 20 gallons diesel, 5 gallons gas
    im mixing all at once, let it sit overnight, pump entire mixture except laste couple inches in 55gal drum, then circulate that mix for a few minutes and run it. note* im running about 100miles a day, so the remaining sits in the tank until the next use

    Can do same thing with used cooking oil. Either way get oil hot before straining and filtering. Concerning using gas.. Be carefull. To much gasoline can cause too much heat and not enough engine lube. Best of luck.

    We have been blending old engine oil with diesel for the past 10 months. Oil is centrifused and passed through 5 micron filter before blending. Have noticed that on some vehicles a black sludge appearing in the fuel system. Is it possible that the blending process is responsible for this sludge appearing?

    absorb moisture and acid. Rodney Jordan is doing it also and using
    another pellet that seems to work and is less expensive. His number is

    I suggested this to a guy 30 years ago when i was 10 yrs old and i had started to work on diesel engines with an old machine operator down the street....
    The idea came to me because of the way we mix 2 stroke....
    And i thought if gasoline was that powerful wouldnt motor oil balance it out....he said it was a no way idea and the gas would blow the engine....
    I was right

      What I’ve been doing for a while now, is since we live in a warm climate, & I used to run my 7.3 PSD on 25% waste oil. Everything was good until I got some Veg & it was down hill from there. Veg oil will ruin diesels if done improperly.
      Motor oil only needs to be diluted 25% w gas or less depending on thickness sometimes it’s already diluted from shops I get it at.
      I filter it through a 2 micron filter then my truck gets it. I’ve been running it on that for a while & all seems to be going well so far.
      When I got my 93 idi I had like 40 gallons of oil I had from a friend & used it pretty quickly.
      Then got some more which I quickly used up.
      Then got a new shop where I have been getting loads of 45gal each time. I’ve got 45gal of jerry cans.
      Between fuel storage & fuel savings Ive come almost even after I filled up my tanks & saved 100-$200.
      I’ll be getting a better pump so that’ll be changing.

    • @michaelbenoit248
      @michaelbenoit248 3 роки тому

      Yeah any non all mechanical diesel should never touch this shit.
      My idi loves it as well is my previous PSD, but some engines don’t have enough heat to fully burn the extra energy in the oil completely & smoke mostly black.

      I've been using lots of wmo too, but I put about 30gallons to 5-10 gallons of gas. I will use a pump and constantly pump it through a 100 micron sock filter and to mix the two better. Once this is done I pump it from one drum to another. A dirty drum to a clean drum. From the dirty to clean, I pump it through a 40 micron filter on the hose and then it goes through a 10 micron sock filter in the clean drum. Seems to work pretty good so far. I've been using this for my Deuce and a half.

      From the video, it looked like activated carbon it's used commonly in water filter equipment. And commonly available in bulk for the aquarium industry.
      I'm, fairly certain there's some incorrect information in the video
      Out of respect to the channel owner for posting this video please don't take this information the wrong way. I'm only wishing to help profect your system.
      The system shown is filtered probably with a oil filter, it's probably too thick at this point for a water fuel separator filter.
      Then goes to mixing the activated carbon is like a sponge but it isn't effective in this manner. It will trap particals yet release them as easily.
      As far as changing the pH of the acid or filtering out water I have serious doubts. Water can flow through activated carbon easily.
      Which is one issue, second issue activated carbon rubs together and forms a fine black dust which is similar to a new water filter. One issue is this dust needs to be filtered out as well.
      I'd suggest
      Move the activated carbon into a canister filter before your oil is passed through the 10 micron filter. Smaller pump can be positive thing. Oil filters have a spring that allows oil to bypass a filter in the event of a clogged filter. Oil filter Manufacturers would rather feed a engine oil pump dirty oil then no oil. It's highly likely that pump it too high of flow for the cold oil being filtered likely the filter isn't pulling much out contamination. Mixing pump is still used to mix diesel I'd suggest a small glass bodied filter here if anything shows up in it you know earlier filtration has likely failed or you have dirty unfiltered diesel. Better to have a warning then not
      Before distribution it highly suggested a fuel water separator filter. The oil can easily be packed with water.
      As for the neutrilizing acid I maybe wrong here but I don't think activated carbon will filter out the acid or change the pH. Maybe if the acid compound is large enough activated carbon could filter it out but not effectively pumped around the tank

      I think you can use the pellets that pull moisture from a room you know they come in a net bag and hang it up in a basement or something.

    • @toddk1377
      @toddk1377 2 роки тому

      I don't worry about water. If I can't see water and oil separation in the tank, then it's not enough water to worry about. I just mix one quart of alcohol to every 20 gallons of oil that I filter. Allows the engine to safely burn any water in the system. The water mixed with alcohol turns into methanol and therefore won't rust or anything. It'll burn like low octane fuel.

When the contaminants are filtered out it would be gold colored or clear! Black diesel would be great for a heating unit but not to burn in you $10,000+ tractor! That's just stupid!

      Used unfiltered oil does indeed have particals suspended in the oil that's why engine oil lab test can detect particales of lead and other metal alloys to detect engine wear without a engine tear down inspection. Although with proper filtration it should have a effect.
      The black is the carbon. And a centerfuge is the proper way to go
