I have a '57 oval that the prior owner shaved the wipers. I can still see the tack weld underneath, so essentially I can just drill them back out. However, before I do, I'm wondering if it makes more sense to buy a newer 12v kit. Dont know if they are the same distance though, but even if not, I have options. I can't even find a '57 kit even if I wanted to stay more original
Usually when you're driving the bug the wiper arms will settle all the way down to where they're supposed to be parked from the vibration of the car. I always had this problem too trying to get them all the way down as possible when first installing them.

I bought the same setup for my 66 bug that is converted to 12 volts. Was told to use 73-77 wiper arms for a standard beetle. Not the ones used for the super beetle. Now sure what the difference is. Will be installing today. My box from CIP arrived today. Don't know what year your bug is. Did noticed that your fuse box has more than my 8 fuses. Nice job on the video and car.
It seams like a great wiper motor but I haven’t really used it. My car is a 68. So the difference in wiper arms is how the arms attach to the wiper assembly. I abandoned that fuse box. I’m installed a completely different wiring harness because I’m actually going to install electrical windows, electric heaters and some more light switches. So I needed a bigger fuse box.
