    The door you repaired has a texture. Can you tell that the texture is missing when it is painted since you had to sand it? I have a door that I am planning to repair and I am hoping the repair won't be obvious with the texture difference.

      Leslie, this door patch is below eye level and on the inside of a kids closet door. The only person that knows its there is me and the crickets. If the patch is in a more obvious high traffic area you may want to watch my next video where I imitate the wood grain.

    Great video! Girlfriends chihuahua tripped me sending my knee through the door *facepalm* will be trying this technique in order to better my chances of getting my deposit back. Thanks for the help

    Hey Douglas, loved your video. I was wondering in place of the expoxy could I use wood glue? Thanks.

    Hey Douglas, I have a hollow core door with cracking/ peeling reaching the wood for a large section. Should i just use 150 grit, primer and repaint?

      If the spine/wood frame is cracked, replace the door. Otherwise you can try it but it will leave a visible scar especially if it has a simulated wood grain texture. Watch this video to add texture ua-cam.com/video/lVa08pK0mT4/v-deo.html

    can i use wood glue as a stand in for epoxy? and if i use wood glue would i even need the bondo or can i just paint over it?

      Danny, if all you have to work with is wood glue, then give it a try. There may still be a ridge that stands out and if you do not have bondo, try spackle or drywall compound. Drywall compound is the easiest to sand and for minor cracks will hold up for a while

    May I know what paint you use? It's the same color as my door, actually that door is exactly the same as mine, lol!

      You know what, I think it is an off white, I left it at a home in Fredericksburg if you want it.

    Can you use spackle or joint compound or does it need to be Bondo?

    • @douglashill7059
      @douglashill7059  Рік тому

      Keith, great question. I don't recommend it because it is too brittle and will crack easily. Joint compound and spackle is best if used over a solid surface

    Why do you have music in the back ground? I want to watch what you are doing, and hear what you are saying, not listen to a music video. Good job otherwise.

    Hi! I got a couple questions, can you tell me what grain and type of sandpaper you used? Both for the paper and the block? Thank you!

    • @douglashill7059
      @douglashill7059  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Random Guy, I used 80 grit sand paper and sanding block to knock down the epoxy and the Bondo. Thanks for watching
