Damn $10 a bottle might just let my body slowly die. 😂
@@MrMoney331 lol! It ain’t cheap but if you never wish you could pay ten bucks to feel different after a night with a little too much drinking that means you are a beast
This product sounds amazing!
@@christinecamley I honestly couldn’t recommend it more. It made a world of a difference for me so I guess it’s legit
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks That's awesome!
As someone with a lime tree, limes turning yellow are just more ripe and they are still good to eat.
Merci Jean-Félix. Tu produis toujours d'excellentes vidéos et celle-ci parvient quand même à se démarquer.
Great info!
It's always nice to have options for those ingredients we forget about.
What a great tip! I'd never thought of saving old fruit like this before.
It's a great trick to have in your home bar. Cheers
A great way to upcycle limes! Thank you very much!! Will definitely try :))
Will try this. You offered some great ideas for use in cocktails. Thank you
My pleasure :) Cheers!
This is a nice idea! I may try it the next time I get limes in (what I've been doing recently is cutting them into slices and storing them in the freezer wrapped in baking paper and they're lovely to just slide into drinks)
This is awesome! Iranians always have “Leemoo Amani” stocked in the pantry, and I’ve always wondered how to add it to a cocktail. The tea idea is spot on too, my grandma always kept a dried lime in her sugar jar, added a lovely scent to tea :)
See, I didn't invent anything here. Your grandma got game :) Cheers!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks try it with borage tea for the ultimate iranian experience of gol gav zaban and maybe even a cocktail around the borage and dried lime drink we got here.
Never heard of this and sounds amazing! I am putting on a strawberry black peppercorn daquiri on my menu and this will be a great garnish over top. Thanks buddy.
Dude that sounds AMAZING! I want to see pictures of the first one you make :) Cheers!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Will do!! Cheers
LOVE black limes, lemons, oranges… any citrus really 😆 the aromatics are insane and they also works great in salad dressings and fish marinades.
I love Persian black limes in cooking, now I'll try them in cocktails!
JEAN-FELIX!!! This was awesome!!! I def will try this!!! I HATE throwing away limes!!! CHEERS to you!!!
Those wasting days are over ;) Cheers!
Love this so much
This is great. I always have a few limes around, and sometimes they get past the point where I can use them. On the other hand, I hate to waste food. This is a great option.
Thanks Bob! I’m really glad this might help you reduce your lime waste. Cheers
Thanks for the video. How you make Orange bitter? Can you share the recipe?
Syrup recipe mixing volume and weight measurements *screams in James Hoffmann*
Awesome video !
Thank you sir!
This is awsome!! Taste and smell soooo good 🖤
Imagine in a Poulet aux olives 🤤
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Sweet Mama 😮🤤
Fantastic! Thanks for the video! Quick question - How long would you say it takes your dehydrator to turn the limes into the desired color? (Approximately)
Approx 2 days
Great video jean
Thank you!!!
Amazing! I learned something new today! Just a couple of questions:
1. Approximately how long does it take in the oven to achieve the consistency you mention?
2. Where do I store the loomis? Do they need to be refrigerated? Or in a tight container outside the fridge?
Thanks and greetings from Mexico. 👍🏻
Outside the fridge because of the humidity. Keep them in a container
@@dizturb5062 Excellent! Thank you very much! 🫶🏻
Cheers !
Haha! Love it! Santé 🥂
Amazing! Can this be done with other fruits aswell? Oranges / Lemons?
Of course! It will just take much longer to dehydrate but yes of course
Black lime very common in iraq and you can make an amazing tee with it
you are genius
Limes are way too expensive here to buy 'too' many 🤣 But I'll usually chuck some in the freeze for later use. They're a bit squishy, and the oils from the skin are goneburgers, but they're useable... But I'm definitely doing this to one of them! At the very least, for a for a good smelling garnish on top 😁
Brilliant Jean-Felix! This is a very special cocktail! The flavours are delicious! I have never had these dried out limes before! I am thrilled to learn what can be done with limes that aren't completely fresh! I buy too many at a time! Bad habit but I love to have limes on hand! Lemons seem more resilient. Do you find that as well, JF? I love learning and it's so fabulous to have amazing ideas of how to repurpose limes that have faded and are not fresh!! Thanks so much JF and I just love this spectacular Gin Fiz!! Hope you are well!! Cheers!!
Thanks Christine! I don't know, I feel like lemons tend to rot quite fast and then, there'S nothing to do. At least there's a way to save the limes :)
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Yes great point!! Limes can be saved! Love this!! Have a spectacular weekend and I hope the weather is fabulous!! Hey Jean-Felix does France have Rye distilleries? If so have you tried any French Rye? Love this amazing spicy spirit! I really enjoy LOT 40 from Canada! The U.S. has some outstanding Rye!! Cheers!!
I love it
Definitely going to try this. Do you have to start with a fresh lime or can you use the ones that are looking like the trolls with jaundice? Also how long is a long time?
That's the goal. To use the ugly ones instead of throwing them away. As long as you keep them in a cool and dry place in a sealed container, they can keep almost "forever"
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks But if you get good results with withered old troll limes, surely if you used burstingly fresh and juicy limes the results would be out of this world amazing?!?
This whole loomi thing is nothing short of life changing
Glad you see it that way. Cheers
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks And I mean it. More than once I bought a load os limes for a party and ended up using just a few... We kind of use some of the rest in the next few days, but they're soon yellowish and funky.
Not a gin fan. I'll have to try this with different types of rum, minus the egg white.
I'm working on a Persian cocktail menu and designing a black lime cocktail (Limo Omani) I believe
Where did you find that couch?
Nice Into The Am Blouse ;)
Can you do a video about the Orange bitter?
I promise I'll do in the future. Until then if you want to make the one I talk in the video, just use Reagan orange bitters ;) cheers!
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks thank you
I am doing this over the weekend! I am in Amsterdam next week filming some interviews... does anyone have any suggestions for cocktail bars?
I actually don't know but I'm intrigued. Hope you'll get nice suggestions. Following ;)
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks I am in Nice the week after that filming more interviews. Any suggestions there?
I live in amsterdam and I've got some. Door 74 (speakeasy bar, Flying Dutchmen (biggest backbar in NL). Rosalia's Menagerie. Good food and cocktail combination places are Branie and Calle Ocho.
Oh and Tales & Spirits is nice, especially if you can get a place at the bar or one of the high tables
And definitely try to make reservations. For example, Door 74 requires it. If you are into whisky cocktail JD William's Whisky bar is the place
For the Loomi-orange bitter, did you put orange peels in your orange bitter? If so, how much orange peel? I’m guessing peel of 1 orange
The footage in the video is with a homemade orange bitters one month from being ready so I added the loomi but if you start with a store bought bitters, just measure 200ml for 2 gr and that’s it
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks do you plan to make a video about homemade bitter?😏 I already made a couple one from “Field Guide to bitters and amari” and it was awesome
@@MrFranck3301 Ill probably yes. When I’ll no longer be a Nomad UA-camr and will be sure I’ll be at the same place at least one year lol
Are black limes food safe? I just ask because the health department recently told my restaurant we can no longer use candied red bell peppers for a cocktail garnish
Where the hell do you live 😂 they sell black limes in many spices Market so I assume they are but maybe not where you live 🤔
How long should this take in the oven?
...and, can I do this over a few days (turning oven off over night?)
2:46 witchers getting prepared for drinking their livers out
I tried the tea and lumi syrup but it tastes overwhelmingly of Earl Grey :/
I just heard of black limes then immediately after saw this video
That’s spooky 🤣
I think this bitters is begging to be used in an Italicus forward cocktail
Wish I had known about this trick a week ago. Just threw out a big bag of limes.
NOOOO!!! Well at least those days are gone mate. Cheers!
Best visual cocktail channel on UA-cam.
Thank you SOOOOO much! Cheers!
Spoiler: Still needs a fresh lime or lime juice in the recipe
Black Limes and Pisco Sours - no more Angostura Bitter decorations for me.
AB SO LU TE LY!!!!
I really wish when you said "Here is how you make the black limes" you would of cut to a scene of you just throwing a bunch of limes out your door into the sun! Haha
In the streets of Bordeaux with all the dog poop... not sure 🤣
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks I mean the Loomies already kind of look like poopies
@@MrMoney331 🤦♂️
This works with lemons!?
It would but with triple the dehydrating time.
@@TrufflesOnTheRocks Okay… my oven shall be on forever hahaha.
@@FantomMind hahahahaha 😆
Oh god those Egg white noises were a bit much :)
Bro you are so sensitive 😂
FIRST?!?!?!---------------------->YESSSSSSS!!!!
Yes my friend! Cheers
In awe of this content; something interesting and educational, then an amazing recipe, the tannins and bergamot from the EG in a gin sour must be 🤌 even the ad was for something I’d like. Bravo Jean-Felix !
Your comment really made my day! Thank you SO much!
apparently can't order that into canada
