I enjoyed this Evan even if you have a face for newspaper 😂. If they can get Leiter straightened out it would be a huge win for their development staff. I can’t help but look forward to this time next year and wonder what could be taking shape. For now let’s just enjoy having winning baseball back.
Taveras is and has been fools gold. Like a mini version of Gallo. Over and over demonstrates the good is not sustainable yet so many cling to the few glimpses. Him... out of the lineup or better yet...the organization, wouldn't hurt a bit. More likely help.
Totally disagree...Tavares is strong defensively in center as well as has an incredible offensive plus season this year. Yes, he has slumped since mid July, but you cannot discount his clutch HR or on-bases in key moments.
@@stevemammen5595 he has a pattern. Same arguments people made for Gallo. U r entitled to your opinion. I didn't say he sucks. Just that everything u mentioned that makes one hold out hope is fools gold. Thinking he's turned a corner each time while ignoring what happens with him over and again. This isn't new. His offense has always been in question. I don't see anything special on defense and especially don't see him utilizing his speed around the paths either. He hopes you are right. I'm confident he is what he is. Faster he is out of the lineup the better for the team. Funny u say clutch. In fairness I do not get to see every at bat but his highlights always seem to show up in inconsequential moments and little in big moments. But it is true that's fairly normal in baseball. Most numbers are scattered amongst various types of moments. If u are looking for someone to throw it to the warning track .... from said warning track. He's your man! ala his SF throw debacle
@@stevemammen5595 just one additional tidbit. If u look at OPS for the season. Leodys is .724 ahead of 6 Rangers. Miller, Leon, Huff, Thompson, Smith and Grossman. Grossman has 13 more walks in over 100 less ABs. Last 30 days? Leodys is ahead of Hedges and Jankowski. Also 1 of only 3 below .600. He is at .518. Hope he improves but prefer if organization sees him for what he is. Decent not good to great. Thankfully numerous better options exist in the organization for once!
I think it depends on what kind of September Gunnar Henderson, Tristan Casas & Masataka Yoshida have. Josh isn't playing right now, so others can seize the opportunity.
Is RHP starter Nathan Eovaldi close to being back in the rotation I know the rotation has been good since he is on the IL still I think with Eovaldi in the rotation that gives us 3 quality starters.
Evan - Great video and thanks for sharing...What are your thoughts on Martin Perez' future as I think that Heaney should be in the pen as Perez has (on average) given 5 innings each outing. Also, do you think that once Eovaldi returns that the Rangers go to a 6 man rotation? Thanks for your hard work!
I think Rangers will stick with a 5-man rotation, though there are two weeks in September without offdays that might make sense to extend. ... I think in playoffs Rangers are more likely to shift Heaney to 'pen, but I think it might mean Perez gets left off playoff roster since you can go with a 4-man rotation and slide one starter into a bullpen spot
I heard someone mention Dunning back to the pen once Eovaldi comes back. Sending Heaney down would leave the pen with a lot of LH arms in the pen. I wouldn't mind seeing Dunning pitch 2 or 3 times per week.
In hindsight, probably. But if there are mechanical issues, I think sending him to Hickory may have masked that for a while with fewer refined and disciplined hitters, but it just would have delayed this issue presenting itself. Just my opinion.
Rocker was good before his elbow gave out. It sucks that he’s going to lose a year but we have no reason to believe he won’t come back strong. Let’s not forget the Rocker pick also made it possible to draft Porter.
@@Parker-ub8xu Rocker, had a major shoulder(whole reason he isn't a Met) issue which changed his motion followed by elbow months later. Chances of him EVER pitching in big leagues is slim. Let's not pretend that because it was Rocker they DID choose that he was the one and only option for the lower money which is what allowed Porter pick. I'll stick with my take on Daniel's draft prowess. First draft under Young and industry agrees it looks promising....'23 draft!

Do you think that Jung's season thus far is enough for Rookie of the Year, even if he only comes back for the last week or two of the regular season?
Depends on what Gunnar Henderson does while Jung is out. I'm not concerned about reg season awards, I want the big prize.

I still don't understand why Leiter STARTED his pro career at AA. I just don't get it.
Thoughts on the 133 Fans?? What do the players/coaches REALLY think about them?
Love seeing the Yankees fans going ballistic over the Roll Call!
Think it's great that folks are making an effort to charge up the crowd & that it's come "organically," I.e. not orchestrated by team
A telemarketer calls and Evan says, “Hey. Have you heard how good the Rangers are?!”
Usually, I just hang up. I wish I had something witty to say. I'm no Seinfeld.
i dont get why hes still in AA. he needs to be getting reps in high A and gaining some confidence.
I want to ask you a question your Ranger Insider why isn't Carter coming up from the minor leagues yet?
I know this is hindsight but, was Frisco too high for Leiter to start??
In hindsight, probably. But if there are mechanical issues, I think sending him to Hickory may have masked that for a while with fewer refined and disciplined hitters, but it just would have delayed this issue presenting itself. Just my opinion.
@EvanGrantDMN1
Good point. He may have dominated Hickory with the bad mechanics and then, need TJ. Then, he'd be further behind.
Please Rangers bring up Carter

Leiter and Rocker.
Waste of some serious tank years. Not to be confused with decade plus of poor drafting.
