The set apart weapon for the Rangers in 2023 was the 5 run inning. And you don’t get those relying on the home run. More like walk, single, double, single, home run. Back in the late 90’s I’d hear the term that home runs are rally killers, and the Rangers demonstrated what that means.
I really think the optimal lineup for 2024 would be to have Carter lead off and push Semien/Seager back to 2nd & 3rd. Keep Adolis at cleanup, maybe do Lowe, Jung, Heim for 5/6/7, then have Taveras 9th most often. I’m of the mind of not having a dedicated DH and using it to rotate guys around. Let Duran, Jank, Smith, and whoever else makes the bench get reps in and keep everyone fresh Now next year is a different story bc Langford will definitely be in the mix then and I feel like he should be 2nd or 3rd. Any way you slice it though, our offense looks to be very exciting for the foreseeable future
@@LinkRocks I don’t think Carter starts the season batting 4th. He’s going to have to prove he can hit lefties at a decent rate before he hits the high.
Given Carter's ability to get on base and plus speed he's eventually a logical move to the leadoff spot. Semien imvho has an approach that is a little more tailored for driving in runs. Nice problem to have regardless.
@@carnivalgods4573Yes Carter is a leadoff hitter and he should get a chance eventually but they love Semien there and it worked last year for sure. Which surprised me cause Semien is a career .320 on base player. If it keeps working I probably wouldn’t mess with it for now
I’m still in shock that the Rangers won the World Series!!! And now I find the All Star Game and Home Run Derby will be held in Texas?!? *OH MAN!!!! I’M STILL GEEKING OUT ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
IMO this is the most likely lineup: Semien Seager Garcia Carter Jung Heim Lowe Langford Taveras Of course there's tinkering throughout the season based on injuries and performing. I could see Langford moving up to 5th behind Carter or vice versa. I could also see Lowe moving up if he improves on his power. Bochy certainly has a lot of options.
When you flat out run and have a career .410 obp as a professional. Seems to make a lot sense. Who wouldn't want Semien and Seager batting with Carter often on base to start the game.
i know this wouldnt happen, but is this the ideal lineup i would run Carter LF Seager SS Langford DH Adolis RF Lowe 1B Semien 2B Jung 3B Heim C Taveras CF
Love Bochy, but I don't get being totally inflexible about Semien and Seager at 1-2. Seager is clearly a 3 or 4 hitter. Semien is great at leadoff, but Carter could be even better, and Semien is a perfect 2. I would pay extra to see Carter, Semien, Langford, Seager, Garcia, Lowe, Jung, Heim and Tavares. Or flip flop Garcia and Langford.
It’s just not happening though. They got swept in Colorado, a last place team last weekend and now they’re getting destroyed by another last place team, the L.A. Angels. No pitching, pathetic offense and the kind of fielding you see on little league teams.
The pathetic offense is still stinking to high heaven in June. They’re at the bottom of not only the American League but all of baseball in every offensive category. Bochy could put the pitchers batting and it wouldn’t be any different from watching the position players flail away hitting dinky grounders, lazy pop ups and easy fly balls.
Someone is bound to be a bust. Not probable that Texas hits on All these guys. But Texas wins a ring then fans get delusions of them being the next dynasty 😂

4. LF Evan Carter
5. 3B Josh Jung
6. 1B Nate Lowe
7. DH Wyatt Langford
8. C Jonah Heim

I don’t know what you mean next year Langford is most likely going to play the majority of this season even if he doesn’t make the team to start
Can’t wait for the season, Evan I really hope you have a regular monthly talk with foul territory, great chemistry
Carter, Semien, Seaver, Garcia, etc…
Semien. 2B
Seager. SS
Garcia. RF
Lowe. 1B
Jung. 3B
Carter. LF
Langford. DH
Heim. C
Taveras. CF
Good lineup but they'll probably have Carter bat 4th and Lowe 6th or 7th.

The only LEGITIMATE Rangers reporter in my opinion. One of very few

Jung, Langford, lowe

Carter LF
Seager SS
Langford DH
Adolis RF
Lowe 1B

Semien is one of the best leadoff hitters in baseball.
Why in the world would you bat semien 6th?
Evan is really the goat
Write less and put out more videos

Everyone is penciling Langford as being a big time producer…are we “butting on the come” too much? Too early? Nice show.
