Fun topic! Every captain had its season in my life, so I have never thought of ranking them.
Glad that Janeway made the list! Not a big trekkie, but she was My #1 !! Never saw that Tuvix episode so I'll have to find it now.
Tuvix is a memorable episode so it is recommended.
Please, Kirk. My man can come up with a plan in like 5 seconds. Best examples are the first encounter with the Reliant, and then again when he Escaped from Genesis Planet.

Sisko > Picard > Kirk > Archer > Janeway > Everything Post-2005. I would put Janeway above Archer, except for the fact that she's constantly (and needlessly) risking her crew's lives. Kirk and Picard could swap depending on the day and my mood. But Sisko is the best.
yeah janeway was irresponsible and written inconsistently
#1 Picard (TNG only) - I admire his moral compass and eloquence. He has principles that he NEVER compromises.
#2 Sisko - He's definitely the... realest captain. He has flaws, ego, and makes mistakes. Definitely the best written in a lot of ways.
#3 Kirk - Kirk is my least favorite of "The Three." He's impulsive and reckless. But his flaws are heavily mitigated by his friendship with and trust in McCoy and Spock, making them a fantastic crew.
After that, I don't care. The subsequent shows are increasingly poorly written.
The #1 starship captain of all-time, however, is Captain John Sheridan of Babylon 5. Boxleitner did a great job with the character, and Straczynski (sp?) wrote him incredibly well.
Janeway, for instance, has all of the flaws of Kirk, but no one to put her in check. Kirk, at least, had some degree of self awareness that allowed him to defer to Bones and Spock when required. She was a Kirk, but she thought of herself as a Picard. Of course, she was very inconsistently written, so this is a sweeping characterization.
EDIT: It felt like a lot of Voyager story arcs were resolved at the last moment by the writers declaring that Voyager won.

I think you got it right subconsciously in you thumbnail, Cisco, Archer, Picard, Kirk, then Janeway. you you completely messed it up otherwise.
Picard, great diplomat and leader, but I think is too idealistic. It seems he was inflexible when it come to the Federation principles and truth. Like Sisko said, "it's easy to be a saint in paradise"
I am 66 so I don't think I need to even say it.
They are all great captains but I would follow Jane to the end of the galaxy.
