What an incredible panel and discussion. I don't know how any Star Trek fan xould be mad about the content of this panel. Star Trek, all the way since TOS, has always been political and about inclusion. Not only that, it has NEVER been subtle about it. Go watch the TOS episode Let That Be Your Last Battlefield if you have any delusions that Star Trek somehow used to be subtle about its messaging. Or watch Kirk tell a crewman that bigotry has no place on the bridge. Again, fantastic panel and discussion. 🖖🏻
There was an episode of Enterprise in which they came upon a planet of ppl that was dying of a terminal disease. Another species on that planet had an antibody that could save them but were on the verge of a mental revolution, and if left alone would rise to become the dominant species on the planet within 1000 years. Dr. Phlox made the cure, but in the end, Archer decided not to share its existence as well as warp drive with the dying ppl. Star Trek belt with issues other that just space battles. It truly makes you look at thing objectively.
I for one as a gay woman really love it when my favourite humans actually defend my rights to be alive and be free! Thank you Kate, Tim, Bob, Robbie & Garrett! You guys are my family! And I’m so glad to have you in my life 🫶🏻🖖🏻
This was so great to watch. I get it, some people hate that they talked about politics so much - but that's the whole point of this event I would imagine, to discuss this sort of stuff and how it effects certain communities. Also, I think this is the first time I heard Kate Mulgrew curse (sort of, she cut herself off at the end lol) but Garret Wang finished it for her :D
All this talk about listening to each other, then you look at the comments and see a lot of people have failed that. Was a great panel thanks for uploading
@@TheTapeClub It's disappointing that the writers didn't give Tim Russ a lot of episodes for development despite him being one of the better actors (along with Mulgrew, Picardo and Ryan)

I don't plan to vote and I have the freedom not to. I want to do things that I feel actually make a difference and voting is not one of them, not just because my vote likely won't becthe deciding vote but because I probably agree and disagree on some views that each candidate holds. And whoever wins it won't change the fact that the government is disorganized. This was a great panel. I loved it and it's a wonderful concept to have a convention of diversity and inclusion. We need more of this in the world. Thanks for recording it.
the people here whining about how its so poliitcal (on a diversity & inclusion con ffs) really havent understood the vision of Gene Roddenberry or Rick Berman. The people whining about Roberts mask are even worse. Your life must really be sad if someone on a youtube video wearing a mask offends you.

Have you not seen the reactions to any of the newer Star Trek shows? Especially Discovery, holy cow the comments section for videos talking about Disco were always horrid cesspools of bigotry and hate.
If you bailed after 10 minutes, you made the right call. I kept watching, foolishly thinking they might actually start talking about Voyager at some point. But nope. It was all politics and generic diversity stuff the entire time. I didn't make it all the way through, but I watched entirely too long.
Bruce Lee said people have their opinions then their opinions becomes the gospel truth. When you put religion behind it, it allows for physical abuse to start in the name of Jesus. Now, you wouldnt hurt a person but when they do get hurt by others that have your school of thought, then, while you may still weep, will accept that it ensures you religious proclamations. It still serves your purpose.
So Mulgrew's first thought when she met her crew on the Voyager set 30 years ago was, "where are the gay people?". Why do people believe any of this crap people come out with? They're just playing to the crowd. Besides, why should the sexual preferences of anyone even be immediately obvious to anyone. Hopefully she got a chance to visit the Discovery set where she would've felt like she stepped onto planet LGBTQIAPPPY-09
