God I miss the ‘90s. Long gone, but certainly not forgotten. They say The Kinks’ “Waterloo Sunset,” written by Ray Davies, was the perfect pop song in the 1960s. I say “Do You Sleep,” written by Lisa Loeb, was the perfect alternative pop song of the 1990s. Long live The Kinks. Long live Lisa Loeb. BTW, my favorite line in “Do You Sleep” is “And you smoked with the ghost in the back of my head.” Poetry at its finest.
I had a cassette tape of this song to play in my car. She is beautiful.. Just singing and playing the guitar.

What a great song...& band!! Been a favorite since this album came out. Everyone is awesome in the band. The bass player is excellent, & looks like Christine's ex-husband on "Old Christine, New Christine".
Lisa came to Austin a lot in the 90s, I know I saw her at least 5 times back than.

I have a crappy VHS copy of this episode. l have worn it out . Jimmy Lafave was also on this episode. Real musicians playing and singing live not like the crap that passes for music nowadays.

Why was the name change from Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories to just Lisa Loeb? Marketing purposes. A band is better than just a solo artist.
It was always "Nine Stories" her album was called "Tails" which is a similar pun. I believe she was trying to be humorous and light hearted. The vibe was that she was trying to not take herself too seriously.
