I went to a very small club in Kitchener-Waterloo Canada and saw her perform and she was absolutely amazing. At the end of the night I approached one of her staff with her CD that I wanted her to sign and she came off her tour bus, hugged me and said she was touched that I came and brought my CD in hopes that she would sign it. Still 20+ yrs later I still love her music.
I was about nine years old when this came out and would put my radio on every night, trying to stay up until this song came on. Luckily 97.5 PST had this in heavy rotation so I didn't lose too much sleep!
I met Lisa at a signing event and she had laryngitis, but she still sang 3 songs for about 30 people at the book store she was at. She could've very easily not even shown and no one would have thought bad of her. She was very approachable and humble. Such an amazing person, I absolutely love her!
I was 9 years old when this song came out. I was lucky enough to have been born in a home where, even though we were poor, my older sister listened to music in English, even though we lived in a Spanish-speaking country in South America I immediately felt a connection to this song back in the day. I didn't even understand what it said, but I just loved it. It's been 25 years since then. Now I'm a grown man, I teach English in my country (thanks to amazing music and artists like this I devoted myself to learning English), and I still love this song like the first time I heard it, even though nobody seems to know it in my country.
I love Lisa Loeb’s music and intelligent yet sensitive lyrics. And she’s gorgeous! Man, I miss the 90s. That was a great decade for great music. Ugh. I’m old-ish.
I love Lisa Loeb! My God bring back the 90's please! I remember when this album came out I was in 1st year high school. I bought the cassette tape because CD's cost 4x as much and loved every song in it! Those were the days.
She emits more musical talent when she utters one word, "More" when she rolls out the line "Do you sleep any more," than so many other artists. She rolls that word and that note so beautifully that I wait over and over just to hear her say "more."
Sophie Muller is the queen of music videos - her concepts beautifully capture so many facets of a song and bring rich, cinematic depth to its visual compatriot.
I think it was back in 1994 when I first saw Lisa singing on a 14inch TV in the village in Eswatini. We did not have TV at home so I was watching it at a neighbour’s house. My English was not that good at the time and I did not fully understand what she was singing about. However, I instantly fell in love with her music and beauty. When I moved to the UK in 1995 her album “Lisa Loeb and Nine Stories” was one of the first cassettes I bought. Even today I lover her music.
A perfectly angsty song of the 90s. Its hard to pinpoint when the 80s gave up the ghost (around 1991), but they were dead and buried when this song came out.
What is amazing about this video is that she's doing laundry old-skool in a tub and yet she still manages to KILL IT with the entertainment factor. Just insane is the talent of Lisa Loeb. Wish she'd do one more "adult" album for the true fans.
This song should have been a huge hit. That the problem with artists who are labeled "one-hit wonders", people get so tired of hearing that one song over and over again that they don't even want to hear anything else the artist does.
I've found that while Lisa Loeb didn't have another major hit, at one point (and possibly still to this very day) she was always on the radio. I'd always hear her in passing about about 10 years or so ago.
Try being 59 and still loving all the music I've collected over the past 50 years. Age means so little when you hear great artists and the magic they create. I never know what Ill listen to tomorrow.
Do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore? Do you sleep, do you count sheep anymore? Do you sleep anymore? Do you take plight on my tongue like lead? Do you fall gracefully into bed anymore? I saw you as you walked across my room You looked out the window, you looked at the moon And you sat on the corner of my bed And you smoked with the ghost in the back of my head Now I don't know, and I don't care if I ever will see you again I don't know and I don't care if I ever will be there Do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore? Do you sleep, do you keep me anymore? You kick my foot under the table, I kick you back I can't say I'm able to stand for you or fall for you ever again Wish for a perfect setting Wishing that I am letting you take me where you want me all over again? You can't give yourself, absolutely to someone else And I don't know, and I don't care if I ever will see you again I don't know, and I don't care if I ever will be there I saw you as you walked across my room You looked out the window, you looked at the moon And you sat on the corner of my bed And you smoked with the ghost in the back of my head Do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore? Finally I found it! I've been trying to figure out the name of this song for YEARS!!! About 15ish years ago a kid in my class sang it in a talent quest and was amazing. All I could remember was something about a ghost at the end of my bed. Yay!!!

JS8700 I remember loving this song when I first heard it about 20 years ago. I was never really big into her song "Stay", but this one was always really cool. I'm glad to hear it's getting some air play somewhere these days. It definitely deserves it.
I was 16. And this is what shaped my development. This right here. God, I was born at just the right time. What ever happened to music videos like this??
@@Scorpio_Moonshine thank you for that, I guess need to give her the proper respect and give the full album a listen. This is one of those songs that stuck somewhere in my head from only hearing it on the radio or MTV way back and then not hearing it again after til the magic of the internet. I know every generation says this, but the kids do really have it good for music. Access to all the music ever all the time, no worries about the cost of albums, it gives anyone that cares to find out how deep the rabbit hole goes with music, only to figure out it's bottomless. I know I stop and think about how amazing it is from time to time 😊
Unreal talent with Lisa Loeb. I saw her in Detroit in 95' and she and her band blew my mind. She's a great song writer and this album is excellent from beginning to end.
I remember when Kennedy first played this video on MTV's Alternative Nation. I don't think I saw it more than one or two times though, which was kind of sad because I always thought this was a pretty cool song.
Thanks!:) I think she moved on about a year later. It definitely wasn't very long after this came out, that's for sure. ah It's always fun to revisit the good stuff.:)

and now 2024. Thank you for all the wonderful music, Lisa. One of these days I'll see you in concert!
This is one of those songs that instantly transports me back to a time and a place. Oh '90's take me away...

Loved to relive those years seeing her in concert
The last great decade. Sad to say.
I was about nine years old when this came out and would put my radio on every night, trying to stay up until this song came on. Luckily 97.5 PST had this in heavy rotation so I didn't lose too much sleep!
Such a haunting song. Lisa’s music is a mix of sadness and dreaming.
I hate it when people call Lisa Loeb (& Nine Stories) a one-hit wonder. This song and "I Do" were also hits, and deserved hits at that.
I hear those two songs playing out in the retail stores more than I hear stay anywhere.
My two fav songs by her!!
Stay was also a great song too. She was no one hit wonder that's for sure she had a bunch of songs
Ugh she's so beautiful. I sure do miss the 90's.

i would tell her i think she's cute, i wonder how she would respond?

@@paulnoecker1202 She would say "Oh. Cool."

I love how she sings "I don't Know and I don't Care" part, it's like a celebration of being free of someone :)
Yes, the original "Let it go!" Just with a bit more..Lisa. That conviction..determination and grit.
I miss the 90's. Just turned 50 and wishing I could do my 20s again.

This song wasn't a huge hit and I haven't heard it in decades but somehow it's still so memorable.
Yes it was! ❤
in America it was a big hit. Check the charts too.
@@todayyesterday It reached 18 on the Hot 100. That's moderate at best.

Wow, what an amazing story!!
Good music knows no boundaries!! ❤️🎶🎤
That's amazing !!
When people like Lisa, Fiona, Sarah, Jewel, Alanis and so many others were mainstream.
Miss those times too!
Now female singer only rip their clothes off and sing about sex to computer beats. Such a sad era for pop music!
Art and Jewel , Alanis.
Tori Amos and PJ Harvey
I love everyone

I was crazy about Lisa Loeb back in the 90s! This entire album will always hold a special place in my heart. Happy new year everyone♥️
