Well, I bought this F550 party bus (really more of an offroad passenger bus / van) awhile back to turn into the ultimate family adventure vehicle. The plan is still to super single convert it and put it on 41" military tires, add some functionality to the exterior, do a full interior build out, and then get it on the road. The plans for this kind of came to a halt, as other projects began to flood onto my plate. I did want to give a little update though, since some people were asking about the progress on it. Well... it's coming.

You should break down comms videos into beginner comms and talk about slowly upgrading radios over time. Maybe one of those videos for 2m/70cm radios and another for HF radios. Vids on How to find repeaters, how to program, etc. are always killer.
More homesteading definitely wanna see that please! Love to see the wood burning stove install!
If you opt to remove any of the DEF system, keep it off of the channel. It makes you a magnet for legal issues if you publish any of that content.
That being said, I put my F350 on a full weight loss program, and have zero regrets. I’m on 40’s with a Carli 4.5” suspension system and have a fully built drivetrain. The Powerstroke makes a great platform.
Theres no inspections or smog checks in Alabama, and EPA doesn't have the man power to go after 90 percent of the people who deleted thier def system especially that greenie garbage egr bs, let alone check every vehicle on the road.
yes please bring back the gun content... obviously notice the period shifts from year to year but I miss that stuff... oh and tell Mr Trey I said hey pup!
I miss that stuff as well.
Im excited to see how this build comes along. Im even more excited for the surge of new videos surrounding preparedness!
I’m stoked for anything you make content on. All of the projects and future videos sound awesome, I can’t wait to see them.
Nice too hear your gonna come back to your roots
Vlog style videos would be cool! Day to day chores and projects! Anything would be interesting.just like seeing what other people are doing to prepare! Thanks for the content Mike!
The move into homesteading videos is great. I’m also really looking forward to the preparedness 101 videos.
Brah gots everything to survive a Zombie Apocalypse!
What would look super cool on this rig is the "Raptor Conversion" front end from Fiberwerx. That'd really put it over the top IMO.
Preparedness for sure is something I am definitely interested in and sure there are a lot of other interested in the same!
Maybe some more HAM radio stuff would be great! Basic stuff… how to videos…. How to set up what frequencies to use and all of that would be great !
Absolutely!! I just had a tornado go through my town yesterday, and ham radio allowed me the opportunity to help some people. It’s a great thing that should get way more attention than it does.
A more permanent toilet set-up would be helpful if you plan on hauling kids around.
Composting toilet would be good too
Thanks for the comms vid... since then ive gone down a meshtastic rabbit hole and am super psyched about those capabilities. Comms is one of those areas that's pretty boring AND technical, so it's easy to avoid, but it's one of the most important topics. Excited for more on that.
Meshtastic is super neat. The boringness of comms slightly wears off when you start to gain knowledge of how it works and the importance of it in certian situations.
Random idea…Back wall should have three bunks. Bottom is one person size and permanent as a day bed/seating. Middle bunk is fold up one person size so out of way when using bottom one as seating. Top one is a two person size and on a lift to go up and down. That is if there is room for all three. 🤷♀️
I look forward to see the improvements you make on this bus, and I look forward to seeing a HF Mobile transceiver and a vhf/uhf mobile transceiver installed on this build. Best wishes to yea and 73 to you last line of defense

Can't wait to see the build out
Have enjoyed all your content from vehicles, to preparedness, home build, product reviews, and look forward to more of all topics and have learned a bunch! Thanks
Dont forget to build a spot for walls for a composting toilet/bathroom. Printrest brother get you more ideas.
You may be able to find a spare tire lift from a stuart and stevenson. We actually may have one that we don't use on one of our firetrucks that is a stuart and stevenson 6x6. I'll check the station next time I'm there if you are interested.
All of it sounds awesome! Looking forward to seeing everything unfold!
Congratulations on the growth of your family that’s fantastic news!! Watching t this channel grow from the new home added vehicles and the future of your channel you are a blessed man! Love to see the future of this channel and just excited to see where it takes you take care brother and God bless.
Have you thought about teaming up with Talon on his Sunday Gunday channel instead of starting your own. I enjoy both of y’all’s content and I think it would be a great collaboration!
Unfortunately our schedules, and lives are very different (and we live an hour from each other) - so carving out regular time to make something like that work is just really difficult.
Really excited how this build will turn out. I am all in on more homestead/ preparednes videos
Super hype for this build man. This is awesome!
Yes more comm videos!
You're inspiring me to start thinking about some sort of camping van for us. I'm looking forward to seeing the transformation of your bus.
"Rico Rhino" would be a spare tire carrier/lift from the hummer platform that may work as well or used to model something to fab up.
In your closing statements about what peoples experiences were for the comments I grew up in a 1969 Ford Econoline pop top camper. It was a family affair two kids two parents and one very large Timberwolf black lab mix. we often brought one guest with us as well. This was a standard length 40 line camper van built by TEC. With the pop top kids slept in canvas, but hammocks above a dinette in the back of the band that folded down into a mostly full size bed. It was a little short and my dad being 6 foot foot two had to sleep diagonal, but also had a stove and an oven and a refrigerator propane heater small closet And a few drawers and cabinets. We use this thing every single school break from the first grade to high school. So you might say I’ve got a lot of experience and traveling in small spaces.
I’m aspiring to do many of the things you are doing, especially homesteading so please share as much as you are willing. I’d love to keep learning from your experiences!
I got one of Mike's holsters for my m&p 2.0 full size and it's nice. Simple, good quality and an extra mag. I would buy again.
Looking forward to the Prepping 101 series! The bus looks like a cool project!
I thought 2024 was going to be the year for bus builds, I started mine and now no one is building. Cant wait to see your build.
You got towin power. Build a sick trailer for storage so you can utilize the space more in the van. Excited to see what you do
I diy'd our wood burning stove addition to our house. It felt like more of a daunting task than it really was, even with some ceiling joist modifications that were necessary for proper clearance tolerances.
Really cool project, I've been following you for a while, really inspired me to go out and so I got into offroading, prepping, edc and whatever!
I've had my jeep liberty for a year now and I've been going out every once in a while, and also trying to make some adventure videos as well!
If you’re traveling with women, you’re gonna wanna walk and shower, however, lot of bus conversion people sly people find creative ways of adding a shower to the entry door on buses whether it’s a false floor with a drain or something more sophisticated.
Living the dream brother 😎😎
Yes DIY solar and battery videos!
Very interested in all the stuff you mentioned at the end. Also, it’d be cool to see more of the Lexus build (roof rack in particular). Thanks!
Millionaire Mike at it again!
Oooh oooh haaa has haaaaa! You turning into a mechanic adding two lifts 😂
Cool vid. Looking forward to the new channel
I really want to build a van. The van I want is $5k. The big problem is I think want to 4x4 swap it so I'd have to buy a wrecked 05+ Super Duty or something. Just don't really have the money or space for such shenanigans. So I'll just continue live vicariously through you. lol
Glaval Buses (Forest River owned) are built here in northern Indiana, enjoy! You'll want a heat pump to heat and air condition the unit, just an AC is a waste of money. Have multiple sources to heat/cool and heat water. I have a travel trailer with just an AC and I use an electric oil volume heater to supplement the propane heater which just chews through 20 lb cylinders. Plan shore power and boon docking separate systems. Minimize your roof penetrations, everything leaks at joints.
Mike, you might just make the interior system modular. so you can take what you need for each individual use. you could have it set up with 10 seats or you could have it set up with three seats and a bed, or a dinette you’ve already got tracks in the floor and tracks on the side. Having modular systems come in and out would allow you to get multiple uses out of the same rig.
Very cool
Gotta say man, a dedicated place to poop comfortably seems like a necessity if you got the space.
Get you a sawsall to cut up that wall to get that extra feet you want in the back.
Deleting DEF systems is illegal. Unfortunately these systems are unreliable in the long term and very costly to replace. Should you choose to delete it, don't post anything about it or even show the mods. It can lead to very costly fines although rarely enforced. Keep any parts you remove should you choose to sell later on. love diesel vehicles but absolutely hate DEF system reliability. I would personally keep it in until it fails.
I'd look into S&S DCR Fuel Pump Conversion or at the very least their CP4 prevention kit
I’ve seen you wrenching, so I appreciate the honest walkthrough. Are you considering the weight distribution in your build for the frame and load? Water storage, fuel, batteries and foldout beds sounds like a some important variables to account for. It’s awesome to hear about the future homesteading prospects you’re going to do. We’ve been on our homestead now 6 years definitely a laborious lifestyle but gratifying in the process.
it would be super cool to build a pop out tent bathroom out the back door of that thing, that way it wouldn't take up space or add much weight, plus you could drain shower water out the floor maybe. Maybe find a way to have the bathroom somehow fold out as you open up the back door.
A wet bath with toilet is key. Honestly imo. Been rving for a bit especially if the fam will be traveling more with you.
Would love to see the gun channel! Unfortunately in Canada I can’t carry but still love to watch and learn.
Please do a video on the chicken setup you guys have! Great videos man, keep it up!
It needs to be called the BOB…. Bug out bus…. And liquid spring the suspension
Liquid Springs are rad - but don't exist for trucks this "old"
Woooo!🎉
I'm 1 minute in and already wanna see the full build on the bus lol
Hey Mike on the topic of the toilet and shower stuff. In my family at least my Brother and Dad don't mind not having the Bathroom but my Mom and Sisters won;t go camping without the bathroom in the trailer. Not sure what the case is with your wife and kids but they might enjoy the trip more being able to have a dedicated area for that. Not hatin on any of your ideas if you had other plans that's just my two cents. Lovin the videos as always!
Sounds like a lot on a your plate…fun stuff but man sounds stressful!!
I say scrap the dinette set up.. we have a camper with a dinette and honestly sometimes I wish I just had a large bench seat in its place. Much easier to navigate. If you need a table set up build something that folds and stores seamlessly.
The extra real estate you get without the dinette is Excellent
Yes Chicken run video and homesteading
Love the jacket mike! Where did you get it from? Great video as always!
You need to talk with wanderingbeast. He has an awesome bus build
OH HECK YES
We're still waiting on the pooping in the woods video
I need a holster for my sig P320, I own an Alien Gear but want to support you.
Any update on the offshoot pod?
Gun channel! 👍👍👍
Mike, what wheelbase is your bus rig? I'm building a vintage 67 chevy version off of a 200" wheelbase 2016 f550 chassis.
Would love to see a gun channel or more gun content
Don’t delete. I don’t think fine is worth the savings. Check with your Ford dealer. My 2011 had egr cooler replaced for free under ford customer care program. You should be able to get 140k miles without touching it again if you avoid idle vehicle for long periods. How many miles? Chassis cab like yours need glow plugs replaced according to forum pages.
Your should DEF get the 50 inch for above the windshield
Anyone else not get notified of this video?
Did you say you are selling your OG Tacoma? You really should save that for your 13 year old
Everyone is waiting on the tundra update. When’s that coming out?
Delete the truck. Single heavy tow tune efi live from a reputable tuner. Look into a “disaster prevention kit” as well
$15k for the truck seems like a screaming deal for a stock 4x4 bus like that - did he mention how much mileage it had on it when purchased?
You have a poop shovel, no need to do a bathroom. You mentioned hunting wagon, maybe rifle storage.
Don’t mention anything emission related work you do on the van in the future
From all the research I've done the super single military tires aren't all that great in the snow and ice so be aware of that.
Yeah I've heard some mixed things - I can't imagine they are any good, based on everything I know about tires - but some people swear they do great. My assumption is that the people that say they do great know nothing about snow or tire performance though...
I asked Buckstop and their answer was that most people use chains. While I live in Michigan, I don't live in any part of the state where that is legal (or practical) so as I'm thinking of my build, I'm probably going to avoid the military tires and go to AT3s. Don't want duallys but need traction more.
I am in the doubting Thomas side on this build don’t think it will work
Are you looking to get out of Colorado long term? As a pew enthusiast I would think you would want the option to own and pass down things Colorado has now banned.
Nah, running is almost never the right answer - even though the bulk of the 2A community loves to run away. I'll stay and fight - some of the recent bills have actually been tabled, so that's good news. Obviously Colorado has gone pretty far left, and I wish it hadn't - but the erosion of freedoms happens when all of the freedom lovers run away.
@LastLineOfDefense Stay and fight is a respectable position. I am hoping Utah can be turned around before we get to the point you guys are at. Wish California transplants would realize what causes the issues there when they left.
Yeah, I know it isn't a super popular opinion, but need to encourage people to vote, write letters, make phone calls, etc. It's sad when we start losing freedoms little by little, and it's very hard to turn around. Colorado has obviously gone down hill, which sucks, but I'll stay as long as I'm able to. Statewide politics aside - it does not at all feel like a blue state once you're 5 minutes outside of Denver or Boulder.
0:46 my prediction is cash got pregnant
Dawn of the dead vibes
Just get a passport and leave the USA. Mexico is nicer now, more secure and better food. The USA is doomed.
I'm good, thanks though!
I’m stoked for anything you make content on. All of the projects and future videos sound awesome, I can’t wait to see them.
