Awesome, I love seeing someone else shooting the 270 long distance. I love the 270 and its brother 270WSM. The Berger 140 and 150 gr VLDs should be a better 1000yd+ bullet over the 130gr with their higher BC's but Im sure the 130 will still do it.
Always enjoy watching fellow reloaders walk through their process. Learn new things all the time. I'm interested in trying what you reference here, rotating the cartridge through bullet seating to mitigate any concentricity flaws inherent in the dies. Makes sense to me.
Just got a 270 and I’m off to buy my powder for my first round of hand loads. My gun stores running a little light on certain powders I’m going to be looking for H4831 For 130 and 140 grain loads
Australia the 270w reloading I'm doing here is 57 grains of ADI2209 powder pushing 110 grain Vmax projectile Chronograph speed is 3200 feet per second..
Full length resized with shoulder bump of 0.002"? Do you anneal each time you resize? Do you turn necks on your brass? What brass do you use? I wish Lapua made brass for .270 Win...I typically use Norma (Nozler) brass. Thanks.
Damn I hate it when you only have one brand of powder available. Thankfully in Australia we can get some American powders, but the supply is a bit sporadic so sometimes you have to use the australian brand.
unfortunately we don't have much 1,000 yard opportunity in Phoenix. 100/200 yards is the most we can usually get at the range. IMR 4350, 53.0 grains and a Sierra Match King works well at 100 yards. .26 inch groups
Hello, I am calling you from Iran. We are very limited in terms of hunting equipment and we do not have all these facilities like you. Considering that we are very interested in hunting, please announce the amount of gunpowder for a 270 bullet with a 130 grenade. Thank you.
Trey pallotti , depends where you live and what kind of projectiles you use. Here in canada a pound of powder is generally about fifty dollars these days. There's 7000 grains to a pound and my typical 270 loads run about 60 grains of powder, so a little over 40 cents worth. Primers don't really come cheaper than about 5 cents a pop. The simple hornady soft points I use run about 40 cents a piece with taxes. Assuming you already have brass that's about 85 cents a shot for basic loads, not taking into account hundreds of dollars spent on presses, dies, tumbler, scale, case trimmer, and other tools. You do have to shoot an awful lot for this to be economical. No one "saves money" by handloading, but you will end up shooting a heck of a lot more than you did before and find the whole process far more satisfying
Wow. I thought 55-60cents per round was about the norm. I guess its a good thing the 270 is an almost universal cartridge. Here in the U.S. I can buy new Match ammo for about 95 cents per round and thought that was expensive. I wont complain about ammo prices anymore. Other Countries have it much worse than we do here.

But I do like the demonstration
Wet tumble all the way by frankford arsenal. Way better than ultra sonic. Have four of them and they process about 5k pieces an hour.

60 grains of powder should get it done
what would you say the average cost is for reloading 100 win .270??
