How the years have passed. I was 13 when I first saw it in theaters in early January 2006. I still remember the place being packed and my eyes glued to the screen. Still one of my favorite films along with the original 1933 film.
You’re Eternally lucky. I was 2 and a half when I came out. But one of my earliest memories is sitting in my dad’s lap watching the scent where he breaks the V Rex’s Jaw. What an iconic movie. Hope they do a rerelease of this one day in the extended verison
I remember seeing this on TBS, even if I sadly missed out on theaters? I still loved this movie either way. Once I get eBay cards for Christmas, I'mma try to order some Kong: The 8th Wonder of The World action figures on the site itself too :D
Aw man, King Kong was the shit back when it came out. Not only do you have the movie, but the game, the toys, the merch as well. So good. One of my all time favorites. This will always hold a special place in heart.
My dad took me my sis and grandma during Christmas break and we absolutely loved. It’s still one of my favorite childhood movies since I was 10 years old
This film came out in 2005, which I was 4 years of age when this came out in cinemas. It stars Kung Fu Panda’s Jack Black and features a perfect and fantastic score by James Newton Howard, who did Atlantis, Dinosaur, RV and Green Lantern. The character King Kong is very perfect too.
@@Jurassic1993Park I recommend the video game to you (😉), mainly the PS2/XBox 360 versions. Unlike most movie-based video games, this is one that actually does justice to the film it's based on. Peter Jackson himself had involvement in it.
The movie from my childhood, they took me to see it in theaters when I was a child and when I lived in Puerto Rico, what memories and for Christmas they gave me a King Kong toy from Playmates toys from the movie.
I have enjoyed Skull Island and the Monsterverse alot but y'know? since this movie was my first introduction to the King Kong media, both this movie along with my favorite Kong cartoon called Kong: The Animated Series (2000) that I use to watch on Jetix growing up bring back memories :)
@@user-tf1ep8bu1r This scene was never actually in the movie or a deleted scene, PJ and his crew admitted that they shot multiple shots specifically for trailers
Uh, no. Pretty sure they're in the right order. Especially considering that the first trailer was released first and contained deleted scenes, Kong's early design before it was changed, as well as Howard Shore being credited as the composer which never ended up happening because James Newton Howard took his place.
@@Jurassic1993Park There are multiple scenes that were filmed only for trailers/TV spots. For example Hayes shooting venatosaurus, crew in the jungle, Bruce in native’s tomb with tommy gun etc. Maybe they were deleted scenes, but in “Making Of” some of those scenes mentioned as being created just for trailers
Fun Fact: Peter Jackson was to make his *"KING KONG"* remake back in the 1990s with Robert Zemeckis as the Executive Producer, and the cast would've been Robert De Niro (or Gary Oldman) as a more villainous Carl Denham, George Clooney (or Bruce Campbell) as Jack Driscoll, who was a former WWI pilot suffering from survivor's guilt, Kate Winslet as Ann Darrow, who was the daughter of famed British archaeologist Lord Linwood Darrow (intended to be played by Ian McKellen), plus a special cameo appearance of the original Ann Darrow: Fay Wray as an elderly woman who was to say "It was Beauty killed The Beast" at the end. The film was set for a Summer 1998 release, but because of *"GODZILLA"* by TriStar Pictures and *"Mighty Joe Young"* by Walt Disney Pictures & RKO Pictures were also planning to be released in '98, Universal Pictures cancelled the *"KONG"* project in January 1997, until they brought back on its feet after the critical success of Jackson's *"Lord of The Rings"* trilogy.
Supervoid Cinema has a really good video covering that whole cancelled production. I haven't read the actual script yet, but from the details it seemed fun and exhilarating.

9:01 - 9:51 I never expected a melodeic rock song to be used for this advertisement, especially how the movie is an action-packed atory set in the '30s. 🤣
Back when I was 5 to 8 years old, I always view King Kong as a cool gorilla and getting tears of his death. Now as a adult, he’s clearly the underdog when he fights 3 rexes. Just watching this movie again make think this King Kong would give Toho’s monster, Godzilla, the run of his money if Toho did a remake of King Kong vs Godzilla. (Not Godzilla vs Kong, because it was a reboot)

LITERALLY THE ENDGAME OF 2005!
The extended cut is even better than Endgame imo
You are so right!!!!
Considering that this was released during the long gap between “Jurassic Park 3” and “Jurassic World,” I ATE this up (plus, I’m a big Kong fan)!
