“Why Are You Shouting Like A Commando?”, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar Gets Furious In Rajya Sabha

- Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar strongly criticized the Opposition on Saturday for disrupting parliamentary discussions on the Bharat Ratna award for former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. Dhankhar, visibly frustrated, attempted to restore order in the house and urged Opposition members, including Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, to calm down, questioning Ramesh with, "Why are you shouting like a commando?"
Earlier, during the proceedings, the Opposition objected when RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary was permitted to speak about his grandfather receiving the Bharat Ratna Award from VP Dhankar.
In response to the objections, Dhankar called out Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, stating, "Either control your people or rise and address the house."

They sat on road because they were misled. Farms laws would have catapulted farmers to atleast middle class. I abhore BJP for succumbing to the pressure and retracting all the farm bills.

The Chairman himself was quoting his cast few days back, today he is saying Kisan to himself. Is this joke going on ? There was no agenda to discuss the Bharat Ratna in the house, but Jayant Chaudhry started started speaking about this. Then Mr. Kharge stood up and said if Bharat Ratna has to be discussed then every awardee should be discussed and agenda should be set for such discussion. Mr. Dhankar went silent since there was no provision in the law to discuss Bharat Ratna in the parliament.

People have short memory, that there were multiple rounds of talks with farmer unions, farmer leaders with none able to argue it out point wise. The progressive laws had to be rolled back - which is a pity. The very same laws were to be enacted by all political parties which had them in their respective manifestos.
