  • Miller Electric's newest MIG welder has arrived! The Millermatic 142 907838 is the direct replacement and updated version of the Millermatic 141. The machine welds up to 3/16-inch mild steel in a single pass and comes spool gun ready for MIG welding aluminum. Weighing only 33 pounds, the machine is easy to move without help. This machine is 120v only but has a duty cycle of 60% at 100 amps. Also, if you are using generator power, the Millermatic 142 only requires 5,000 watts to deliver full power. Bonus new digital readout on the front of the screen!

    *Quick Highlight of features*
Auto-Set - automatically provides predefined weld settings for mild steel and aluminum while infinite voltage control allows the flexibility to manually set your own parameters with a digital readout.
Angled cast- aluminum drive system with calibrated tension knob creates consistent feeding and easy setup.
Quick Select - drive roll makes setup quicker by offering three grooves - two for different-sized solid wire and a third for flux-cored wire.
Auto Spool Gun Detect - automatically detects when a MIG gun or spool gun is connected, eliminating the need for a switch.
Smooth-Start - provides a smooth, spatter-free start. It’s the best-starting machine in the small MIG machine category. Thermal overload protection shuts down the unit if the airflow is blocked or the duty cycle is exceeded. Automatically resets when the unit cools.
Fan-On-Demand - cooling system only operates when needed, reducing noise, energy use and the amount of contaminants pulled through the machine.
These features put the Millermatic 142 at the top of the food chain among the competition. In this price point, there is not a machine that is packed with as many features, while still offering the Miller 3-year warranty.

I bought mine from Bakers. What I really love about the 142 over the 141 is the ability to run it with a generator. The 141 I was told would get fried. Looking forward to more videos on the 142.

Hey I’m looking to do some small welding during small equipment repairs. Which or what type gas generator do you have ?
I was wondering running the 220 off generator.
      Thank you

I just ordered one for the lite gate and fence repair. This machine is perfect with flux core in the field where I only have 110 power. My Miller 220 is too big to take to those jobs

Motor calibration check Millers 142 video, for the spool gun.

are you better off getting a separate mig and tig machine or is an all in one the way to go?

bevels? when welding material thicker than 3/16 why will it not weld properly? throw some bevels on the edges and stack more passes on it. obviously a better machine would be the correct answer... but if this is all you have.

how likely will this unit trip a 20 amp 110 volt circuit breaker? (ie when running at full power). thanks.

Don't know for sure, but would say, keep at duty cycle and have nothing else on the ckt.
