I loved how happy and excited you looked, I would love you to do that again, I think that the unplanned and surprises works with you.
I want to go to Japan so bad now. But I'm a teacher, and I only have January to travel, so I don't know if it's a good time to go to Japan, here in Brazil is hell fire hot in January, I imagine in Japan is super freezing cold.

No I wouldn't since current AI programs are fed with lots of copyrighted data and their developers are engaged in unethical practices and human exploitation. Bunch of lawsuits against those guys too. I am quite sad that you, as a creative, decided to ride the AI hype without taking in consideration these things.

Some of those places looked like a backstreet in Europe instead of Tokyo!
I always love seeing the small shrines and hokora nestled in between buildings, they really do make for a refreshing sight among the concrete and steel.
    Thanks Norm ^^

This is such a genius idea Norm. It's kind of like a guided tour for introverts who don't want to have to interact with a tour guide. It also gets you off the beaten path and exploring the quieter side of Tokyo.
Definitely will have to consider it for my next trip back to Japan.

Honestly not what I was expecting when you said you had "someone" plan a route for you, but this was an amazing amount of fun, packed with energy, but also peaceful. More areas added to my list as off the beaten/usual path is very much what I'm looking for now 💜✌🐦 Have a great week, Norm

I really appreciate the fact that the AI surprised you and got you out of your usual haunts. At 18:45 you talk about how streets have this ''happy'' feeling.
Both in the English and Japanese language there is no real word for what the dutch call: gezellig. Gezellig means kind of a mix between cozy and busy in a positive way. It feels cozy because a certain space is getting busy. It feels like you and a bunch of other people are there for the same reason to hang and chill out.
I would call streets like these in Japan ''Gezellig''!

I think walking down random alleyways or streets while on your way to your destination is a fun way to find things. As someone that travels a lot for work and find myself in a new place. I really love this idea to just have fun getting an unbiased tour guide almost. Definitely going to try this out even in the rural areas I get sent to just to see what happens!

There was SO MUCH in this video that all I could think of is how long it must have taken you to edit this!
Overall I'll still plan my own trips but interesting to see what AI came up with (& its fallibility: some things were gone etc). Thanks, Norm!

I found out that a loosely planned day strikes a good balance between seeing things you want to see and giving the freedom to explore. I think walking down random alleyways or streets while on your way to your destination is a fun way to find things. Also if you can change your keyboard to type in 日本語 it opens to a whole new range of places when searching maps

I love that you used chatGPT in this way. I would love you to give this a try in other areas of Japan too

    Already did this in March.
Had delightful days in Shibuya, Asakusa and Odaiba. I didn't knew there was a lo of restaurant stores near asakusa. ChatGPT showed me and even recomended lunch and dinner plans. Best travel companion.

Just got back from my second trip to Tokyo and there's still just so much I haven't had time to see over there. This is a neat idea for the next trip I'm planning next year.

I love all your videos but I think exploring the hidden gems in the countryside and the backalleys of Tokyo. I am constantly adding places to visit in Japan to my list :D Also Jimbocho is a dream come true! I would love just explore the different bookstores and buy as many books as I can fit in my suitcases for Japanese practice 😊
