See you all in the comments!!
Lol this is real Tokyo Ghoul.
Oh hey that would be wonderful to get a New camera as we dream to start travelling to Asia next year!
Great content, ignore hate comments.
I want to win something so bad lol ngl and not ashamed to admit it!
Ooo! In an earlier video in the playlist, you asked for our favorite area. This! This is my favorite area.
yo night Tokyo is something man. that lonely vibe is just so uncomfortable yet comfortable
Lol very well described
There is a manga called song of the nightwalkers. The first chapter captures that feeling so well.
Thats called a liminal space
Its like the feeling that you shouldn't be there but you're there
Japan is one of the few countries where you can physically feel the safety... meaning there is complete absence of fear. It's hard to describe, but I think foreigners who traveled there probably can relate. Thanks for producing more unique videos like this.
Agreed.
The only problem that you should be wary of is how would you survive the games
couldnt agree more with you there.....i only visit Japan once with my fams but boy do i feel so secure when we are roaming around the city at night.....i'd love to be back there :)
I have felt what you mean in Japan and Poland.
Same in Finland
The fact that you can see the stars even in the city is so cool!
Blows my mind lol
@@mehchocolate1257 well yes there are bars everywhere
Never could've thought that it can be so quiet in a city that big and populous. Great video!
Thanks so much 😊
If only London was this peaceful even during lockdown. Still having gangs roaming around on scooters looking for people to rob.
Tokyo is the safest place on earth. You don't need to worry about being a crime victim. Medical care is the highest quality in Japan. It's a dream place for many people. But Tokyo is cold. I'd rather go live in Okinawa. It's warm and subtropical in Japan.
Even without corona it get's really quiet in the night. Try Asakusabashi at night.... ;)
@@OxysLokiMoros now if I go to Japan, I most certainly won't be sleeping there :D
Like, even in my city it's not that quiet at night(let alone safe), and my city is nowhere near a metropolis like Tokyo.
This reminded me of a walk I did with some friends in the summer of 2019 when we missed the last train in Nakano and we had to walk all the way back to our accomodation at Hirai Station. Took us like 5-6 hours of walking, but we saw so much of Tokyo that was empty and silent. Would totally miss the train on purpose just to walk it all again.

The choice of music with that kind of chill/mysterious vibe fits perfectly
Have to admit Norm, these are types of videos you make are my absolute favorite 😄
I guess I better keep em coming then eh 😉
@@TokyoLens I guess you do 😆😏
@@komugi944 I agree with you. The night videos just hit different
Thank you for sharing Ueno! I loved Ueno when I was there. Having my flight to Japan canceled last year was heartbreaking for me, but seeing your videos gives me hope that I can visit again someday.
I’ll keep exploring and sharing while you’re waiting~
"Just me and the inebriated zombies..." Haha.
Lovely video; it's really eerie - and yet peaceful/satisfying - to see Tokyo this quiet. I love how much you seem to appreciate things like great lighting - the simple and yet incredibly important things! Thanks for sharing!
Haha thanks for taking the time to watch 😊
I am just really amazed by how that camera captures the night scenes really well, with almost no noise!
Cant wait to walk on these streets.. february 2023 here I come ! ❤️
Thanks for the adventure! I can’t believe that you can see stars so clearly in the middle of Tokyo with that camera...pretty amazing.
Right?? 🤯
Ueno Park - as requested!
Absolutely beautiful, one of our favourite spots!!! 😍
Thank you, Norm x

Thanks for making the request Elaine!
Hope you're well~
Tokyo at night it’s so beautiful and safe. Probably the only city I wouldn’t be afraid to walk at night… and Ueno park is a gem. ❤️
The city is beautiful at night. You'll find some good stuff sometimes.
I def had an interesting weekend walking through Yoyogi at night. Glad to see you're enjoying it so much
😊
Ever since I've been laid off, I've been watching more of your travel videos on this and your other channel. Gives me joy since my plans of going to Japan have been put on hold for the later future now. Thanks for the showcase of the beauty of Japan.
Craving for Japan right about now
I’ll keep sharing as much as I can!
I love your night time videos. Japan is such a beautiful and magical place, but how you capture the back alleys and the places that most people would never see, is on another level.
There's a beauty in those places that a lot of people just can't seem to see, and I can't thank you enough for bringing them here!
The pond, the park, the shrine, all things I visited on my very first day of my first trio to Japan (albeit in daytime). Thanks for bringing back some memories!
Awesome to see that you are so excited to explore the quiet Tokyo! I went there daytime two months ago. So different and lovely seeing the scenery through your camera with your great positive energy! 😍💕
Love your content, Norm. Chill and interesting with good narration. No over-the-top reactions and no excessively catchy music really add to it. Keep up the good work and stay strong in these trying times. Cheers from Portugal
So kind of you
I really appreciate that
Thank you~
I really appreciate you wandering the Tokyo streets and parks at these hours and sharing it all with us.
I'm getting such a sense of awe and love of the city when you're describing the park and your favorite view spot. 😁 I felt the same when I was in Tokyo. Cheers!
these are the kind of videos i was looking for. night walk in tokyo exploring rooftops and everything. i love the quality and the lighting and the atmosphere. japanese cities and especially tokyo have special vibes, which makes it so much fun to explore everything. the parks are cool and the lakes and the water. i love the sceneries with the tall buildings in the background aswell
I find these exploration videos a complete ZEN. I've always been fond of how the cities look at night, and you never disappoint.
Cheers from Brazil!
These videos are great! When I was in Tokyo I spent a few hours walking from the Imperial Palace area back to my Airbnb in Ikebukuro in the middle of the night. I don't know if there's any other city in the world where I could do that and feel so safe.
Thankyou, so many beautiful areas you showed us.
Ueno is wonderful! I've been 16 times in Japan and most trips included at least a few days in Tokyo, and while I have stayed in other parts of Tokyo, I always keep coming back to Ueno. It almost feels like coming home. Ueno is great as a base to explore Tokyo from, with lots of affordable accommodation and one of the most convenient stations in the city, but it also has so much to offer in itself. It just never gets boring.
I was lucky enough to see a religious ceremony at Benten-Do a few years ago. The monk's chanting was very relaxing and he spoke to me and a lady who were the only ones sitting down inside at the time. Great memory.
really gorgeous shots as always!!
That level of detail and contrast in low light circumstances is amazing!!
I always loved the night time. When I was young and we were driving home from somewhere, I'd be falling asleep in the back of the car and would see this lit up sign that said AAMCO (a car repair place) and that always brings me back / good vibes. As I got older, I used to stay up all night and at like 4am or 5am the TV show Taxi would be on re-runs. That theme song music does the same thing to me.. gives me good vibes of a better time in life and puts me to sleep.
Excellent video! Wow Tokyo looks absolutely fantastic
I am completely stressed out lately because of university. And now I am here watching your video the day before my presentation that's freaking me out and for the first time in weeks I get to calm down. Thank you Norm! You still make the calmest and just best Japan related videos out there on UA-cam.
Such a beautiful and relaxing part of Tokyo to explore 💜
Loving your channel, keep up the great work.
Love what your doing! Traveled to Tokyo twice, and I’m getting a wave of nostalgia from both this and the Asakusa video. It’s tiding me over till I can get back!
Always happy to get the notification for your uploads :)
Excited to have you here!!
As always

@@mehchocolate1257 there are plenty of them, though i dont know exactly how many i know there are at least 3, so plenty xD
though I dont live in Tokyo so, take this with a grain of salt.
@@mehchocolate1257 drunk 😂😂😂
I gotta say, I love your content man. Genuine and inspiring.
Seeing Ueno always puts a smile on my face. Given my usual jet lag when I get to Japan, I've seen these areas at around this same time and it never gets old.
This was a lovely view of Tokyo. Thanks for sharing with us
Flipping a7SIII man... I'm always shocked how good the camera is every time i pick it up! Happy to see you're able to capture Empty Tokyo at night with it. Footage looks awesome!
Great video once again! Love your content and everything about Japan 😊
Thank you for capturing all these beautiful and serene moments while sharing your stories ❤️
Thank you for being a part of it! 😊
There's something on your videos and shots that always makes everything amazing
for me the streets of japan are like a dream in the sense that it feels like those places that only exist inside your head
These night shots are a-ma-zing. And it looks so peaceful!
Cool exploration Norm! Missed your vids!
thank you for your hard work! i appreciate your videos
Amazing! It's sooo quiet.
as always norm thanks for the vid and the documentation of what's going on ur side of life always a pleasure and always looking for more of ur content and ur positivity in these times and can not wait too see what u show us next !
Mhan! Im lovin yah videos!❤
very cool man
love how you love and enjoy things
Amazing video Norm! The low light on that camera is amazing as well, like holy!
I went to Tokyo almost two years ago, and I loved that exact same spot you were talking about Norm. The reflections of the buildings in the water were great, and got to see it both with and without the sakura blossom as we were there in April. Beautiful at night as well.
Totally agree, exploring Tokyo at night is so amazing and beautiful
Omg, I love your videos so much!
Nice!!!! Ueno is our favorite part of Tokyo!!! We always stay there when we visit the city!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Always good to see you brother!!! Stay safe out there.... 👍
Thanks for another comfy video Norm. Seeing your videos in my subbox makes my day.
Wow, Norm. Thank you so much for showing us this! It looks so beautiful and magical even through a (very nice) camera so I can't imagine what it looks like in person. Thanks for sharing!
The dead of night & super early in the morning when nobody about are the best times to see any city! 😊
Fully agree~
I remember going around Tokyo on the subway at midnight. It felt so vexing to see how busy the city was, yet it felt so comforting too. I can't wait to come back soon enough!
Amazing shots! Can't wait for more of your great vid on this camera.
Such a nice surprise to see this posted when I finished a study session this morning. A very relaxing video to watch. Watching your videos makes me want to get to locations as early as possible when I go to japan which sadly means I'm going to have to pick and choose which ones to see in the early morning and which ones to see when they are busier.
It’s never just a camera! The area is very beautiful and looks wonderful at night. With an eerie feel. Maybe everyone no clipped out of reality.
Ahh this is awesome I love explorations like this- awesome work as always Norm!
Thank you so much~
Dude your work is amazing . Thanks for this introspective view on such a lonely yet busy city
Ah, the music is still definitely my favourite thing about your vlogs. Always end up zoning out to it while looking at the fabulous scenery.
I found myself returning to this video multiple times now. There's something very soothing about it
Japan literally cured my anxiety 🙌🏽 for any introverts or people struggling in the west with anxiety, depression or any forms of mental illness I would highly suggest visiting or even moving permanently it’s pretty easy to find consistent work teaching if you speak both English & Japanese.
This makes me miss Tokyo even more, now that traveling is restricted, but at the same time, this provides comfort and access to what Japan. Thank you for that "virtual tour". 💯
Great video, enjoyed it.
Thanks for another great video Norm! I'm hoping 2022 brings travel back, as I'm definitely missing Japan.
The advancement of technology when it comes to film and things always brings me joy. All of the new features and capabilities added just keeps bringing new perspectives for us to see and to share to other people just like the camera with the stars
Great video as always. good thing i subscribed
Man, that really sounds and feels peaceful. There's something lovely about that, but the Kyoto natives said if, if feels a bit lonely. That night videography is really amazing! How does it capture stars like that??
can't wait to travel to japan in 2022. You have been such an inspiration Norm !
i wonder if japanese people know how beautiful their country is to a lot of people.
@@franctokyo5981 calm down bro wtf
@@franctokyo5981 idiot.
Lol don’t mind franc there
He’s a well known troll who acts like this all over UA-cam lol
He lost his job as an English teacher near his 50s and couldn’t get a visa, so he had to leave
He’s been pretty bitter about it ever since
Now spends his days attacking others online to make himself feel better
And Amin, love that passion you have
We find what we are looking for in this life
Stay positive and happy!! Love it
@franc this has “bitter and sad man who thought leaving his home country was gonna fix all his problems and going to Japan was gonna make him Japanese” written all over it ...yikes
@@franctokyo5981 I've spent ten consecutive days in Tokyo and felt literally none of what you just described.
Always love how you capture the beauty of Japan in your videos. Keep up the amazing work
Thanks so much~
Ueno is a really underrated part of Tokyo. Had a couple late night strolls in the park and rowed around Shinobazu-Ike. I really miss it. Thanks for taking me back there!
Thank you for sharing Norm!
I've been watching all your videos and it really makes me want to visit and learn more about Japan! I also love how you shoot your videos :) Thank you for making videos like this, it feels like im also exploring Japan too!
Really love the way you film. Its like we're right there walking in the nights of Tokyo. Thank you for this!
Awesome video... And good night
Man I’m at the point in your videos where I have no more words for Japan it’s all just pure feelings 😭
Thanks I really enjoy seeing another side ( well time) of empty nighttime Tokyo streets!
Yes!!!!😍😍love your work👍
😊
It's so peacefully and happy to watch this video. Japan is so much beautiful and majestic while it's night. And I Think it's better while it's raining. It's just wow and peacefully while watching this. Very Thankful !
Lol since I cycle and motorbike everywhere now, I’ve developed a rather dislike for the rain lately lol
this really makes me miss Japan so much! I love the Ueno Park area!!
Such a cool video! It's been awesome to see so many videos of how quiet things can be there lately. So calming and yet also a little eerie 👻
0:07 great shot!
That is pretty awesome low light performance.
Truly fantastic video, I love seeing Tokyo at night
Having a camera is seeing a new perspective that you often wouldn’t see... Always love your work Norm ! 💕
Tiny dots of light brought out by a camera - and to all of us it's magic. ^^ The stars really make the scenery soo beautiful, and the light reflecting on the water, everything looks so good! Love those night walks, thanks for sharing and enjoying for the rest of us!
I bet the Tokyo birds share your thoughts of spring, don't know if you usually hear any but any moment it's not freezing and a bit sunny here, they sing the way they do in spring.
Man I love your videos so much
I think I've never seen a video like this before. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful experience with us.
