You got me really emotional with Seu Jorge's background story. He's has just experienced racism in one of his concerts in Brazil and gave a very powerful speech about it days later. He talked to everybody and at the end his table had become this huge table with about 30 people around. I love him! And this whole album is great, totally worth listening to the entire thing!
He is more than a nice person. This dude has Soul, R&B, Funky, Groove, Samba and Forro in his blood. He is the kind of artist Brazilians should cherish. He represents the struggle of the black young generation that still have to grow up up in the hectic day-to-day life of the slums without any support from the State or care from most of society whatsoever. He also sponsors several charity projects to help other young men to have a proper education although nobody in this country gives a dam* and rather label him as “left-winger”. Viva Seu Jorge! Thanks for carrying to look his backstory up. Thanks to enlighten people over the power and story a voice can bring to ones life! 🇧🇷✊🏾

Seu Jorge is one of the biggest artists of our country. He is a fabulous actor, amazing singer and song writer and has this wonderful voice. Thank you for your react
I was once in Australia, having a haircut, while my Scottish husband went to a Bang Olufsen shop to try some speakers. He used his iPod and played, among others, this very song in its original Damian Rice version. Once I was finished, I joined him at the shop and played Ana Carolina and Seu Jorge's version. The shop owner was so impressed with our playlists that he couldn't stop commenting on it, but the couple of Brazilian singers won his heart. If you listen to this song with very good speakers, it is almost impossible not to get goosebumps. Besides, the lyrics in Portuguese add a touch that is not on the original song's meaning, making it more emotional, suggesting a continuity to life and love beyond the obstacles we face. Try to get a good translation and dare to use your imagination to enter the realm of Brazilian poetry.
The first one who gave him the opportunity to sing was Xande de Pilares (Grupo Revelação) in a small bar where he sings with his group after several times that Seu Jorge tray to improvise. He was shabby and poorly dressed and almost homeless at the time. Xande de Pilares, who became a well-known singer in Brazil, said that that night everyone danced, sang and applauded Seu Jorge so much that he did not want to go on stage and just sat down to watch him sing.
the man in the video, seu jorge, was recently victim of a racism episode in a brazillian south city. he published a video stateman wich is finished by quoting "I love my race, I fight for my color, whatever I do is for us, for love" by raciona's mc. we're living hard times but we will win

Two of the greatest voices in Brazil, also one of my favorite songs, no matter how many times I listen to this it always gives me chills.
Seu Jorge's voice brings a kind of manifesto for street art.
Seu Jorge Is the warmest and humble artist I have ever met in life! This song made such great sense being translated and sang by them together!😍
And most humble*
the man in the video, seu jorge, was recently victim of a racism episode in a brazillian south city. he published a video stateman wich is finished by quoting "I love my race, I fight for my color, whatever I do is for us, for love" by raciona's mc. we're living hard times but we will win
So powerful and yet so emotional. Cry every time i hear it ❤️
Props to you for looking up their background stories, Beth! Hearing you talk about Seu Jorge with such respect and admiration for his life story got me very emotional, he's a legend!!!!

Ana Carolina has also recorded songs with John Legend, Tonny Bennet, and Esperanza Spalding. They are all great songs.
He IS the greatest person! One of those people who make us proud of being Brazilian!
Love Seu Jorge, one of the best parts of "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou". Hearing him cover Bowie is....everything

I'm Brazilian and I've heard this song 1 million times, including this performance specifically, it sounds crazy but watching you watching it moved me.

Beth,
He is not only a good person, but he has a beautiful life story, a lot of overcoming. He lived on the streets, slept in theaters, but never gave up on his dream of becoming a musician. (Góis)
Thanks for supporting brazilian music! By the way, Ana Carolina was born in the same city as me, it's called Juiz de Fora, and it was very good to see such talent grow up! 🥰😍
Comida de minas é a melhor
Beth, you had the sensitivity to define in a single sentence what "Seo" Jorge's voice represents. Congratulations (My name Góis)
Eram.

Beth is simply AWESOME
I truly appreciate exploring his history. Thank you for that
I'm from Brazil and I love her voice. She's a really powerful singer.
You are so sensitive and respectful in your job. Congratulations. As I Brazilian I’m proud of our music and grateful for people who treat it like you do.
Glad you finally got to these two brilliant vocalists. I have a special place for contraltos and have a collection of these lovely voices. And darker baritones.
Maria Gadu is another contralto from Brazil. Multiple Grammy nominations.
Julia Sanina is lighter nimble Contralto from Ukraine. A stunning voice. Front woman for The Hardkiss, a top level rock band.
Beautiful! The lyrics pretty much surrounds the phrase:“i won’t stop staring at you” which is a lovely song and they do great singing and looking at each other.
Every once in a while, you come with some brazilian singers... I dont know if you have already done anything on him. I think you havent and you really should have a look into Milton Nascimento.
His an amazing guy and his voice can touch your soul
As a brazilian it still give me the chills so I can imagine for you hearing it for the first time
I love how music speaks to the soul! She doesn’t need to know the lyrics translation to feel it deeply! Btw, very proud of our singers 🇧🇷 ❤
He is a great person! A great singer! Popularity dind't took away his humbleness! She's also a great person!
Seu Jorge is an amazing musician! He makes a formidable duo with Ana Carolina. "Seu Jorge" is an informal and cordial way of saying "Mr. Jorge."
This music is so beautiful. As a brazilian, I love to see people from another countries enjoying our culture . 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
That was beautiful Beth, and emotional... And lovely accoustic guitar playing....
Thank you.. x
I'm brazilian and music lover. I really get emotional with your analysis, your reflections and the way you verbalize your impressions and considerations about Brazilian singers. Thank you for sharing with us this beautiful work!
lifelong fan of Brazilian music and artist .... btw SAY-U JORGEE
