I quit drinking when a friend called me and told me”do you want your children to remember you as a drunk”? some how that really resonated with me, I had never looked at it that way. I never drank again,I am now two years clean and life is so much better.

Just look at how Jenifer took care of him, drove him to rehab , got him food and told the paparazzi to leave and respect him, she did all that despite the divorce and cheating. Because he is the father of her kids. That woman is a true gem. You would be totally blind if you didn’t realise it.

Also, it’s only been a couple of months since his last tumble off the sobriety wagon. That’s the life of someone with addiction, it is possible a relapse, but people won’t feel empathy for someone like him, they think it’s a matter of his own will, and it isn’t. The same way if someone find out they have cancer they worry, get a treatment, go into remission. But what if they for some crazy reason find another cancer few years down the road? In my opinion it is the same thing, it is horrible. But there is hope, the same way that is hope for cancer. Same people will die, and some won’t. Hope he gets all support he can, being a celebrity doesn’t help at all.

I loved when he said that too. I’m a mom of two toddlers, and he is so right. The big things are big, but the little things are just as big if not greater. I love little random blurted out things and certain facial expressions because you watch their character unfold. Getting to know them is what it is. Christmas, Birthdays, sporting events shift your focus on the big picture, while everyday life gives you deeper insight to the person that they are. That moved me too when he said that.

This man is so incredible, I have so much respect for him for trying to overcome his demons and generational trauma. My dad himself has battled alcoholism and he quit a few years ago. It was one of the hardest things he has done but my family is so much better now. Sure, he still has major mood swings and is prone to anger on occasion due to alcohol withdrawals - but he is improving. Alcoholism destroys families. If you see someone suffering, please get them the help they need.

It's as simple as that. You can't buy the illicit item when you know you STILL LACK self control.

It’s a lifelong battle, morning to night. It’s a mental obsession. It’s years of treatment facilities and various medications. It’s growing up being raped and abused, starved. Years of being in the foster system. Years of abuse with no warmth aside from having a drink. Getting used to numbing yourself because life is so hard. To me, that’s alcoholism. Not simple a matter of “oh I can’t refrain or I have no control” it’s NOT about that, it’s about pain so deep and depression that never ends. That’s what perpetuates the vicious cycle of alcoholism.

Another fantastic interview by Diane S. Love how she stays on task, doesn’t allow any manipulative behavior to bubble up- no pandering - as a result his answers aren’t scripted. Healthy and refreshing.
All I kept thinking about was Jennifer G. ... on top of all the struggles - she’s freaking amazing.

This is going to be a great movie for him because he doesn’t have to do much research for the role. I am glad that he’s doing better.

madeline cruz he may win another Oscar. This is real life, I am glad he is facing. As a daughter of an alcoholic that never got treatment, I am cheering for him.

I really hope he gets better for good. He's been my Idol since I was 15, I remember I used to have a huge crush on him. I'm 35 now, he still has a special place in my heart.
