Perhaps the most beautiful, honest and heartfelt speech I've ever seen from the Oscars. When he can't even finish the sentence when he's thanking his kids...
How can he not win the best director award. I mean when i was watching Argo, I legit was terrified within the first 30 mins and was at the edge of my seat for the most part of the movie. I never experienced that in any movie , that was so intricately directed.
Because their marriage was a JOB and it didn't work, and Ben was already about to separate from Garner, and he felt sorry at that time for separating from the children.
right about 4:42: the tall guy coming up on the stage from the left is one of my favorite people in the whole world. Alexandre Desplat, who did the musical score for Argo. He went on several years later to be nominated for Best Musical Score twice in one year: for The Grand Budapest Hotel and (the hauntingly gorgeous) Imitation Game. He won the Oscar for the former. Yes I'm a huge fangirl of anybody who writes musical scores, and especially this guy
Argo totally deserved that award. It is humerous, tense, heart breaking and overall a unique movie that depicts an event that people need educating on. Affleck did an amazing job.
Loved how Affleck had to announce the Best Director this year. He just looked like he wanted to get it over with. I still can't get over how he was snubbed...
I don’t understand why this world is just so full of hate! I haven’t seen much movies that include Ben but the ones I’ve seen, he’s good! And he’s an AMAZING BATMAN! Like he really is! He’s so humble and nice and I just don’t understand why people would hate on him for being in ‘bad’ movies, it’s not like it’s his fault that these movies didn’t get success . So for those who hate, STOP, AND did you see how emotional he was?! He meant everything he said and I could just see the sincerity in his eyes! WOW!
I love Ben Affleck. He's so likable, you know what i mean? i don't get why people hate on him. maybe he's not the best actor but he's ok. there are worst actors than him and everyone loves them. and acting is not what he is getting awards for. annnd i love how his voice cracks at the end. he's so moved. and him and his wife are adorable. and i was hoping he would thank Matt Damon :P.
I don't get it either. Ben is a very talented person, infront and behind the camera. His acting career was a bit rocky at first, but he worked hard and turned it around. He's a great director, and has done nothing but good performances as an actor since The Town. He was really good in The Town and Argo, and excellent in Gone Girl. Haters can go fuck themselves.
I love Ben man, such an inspiration. He came from sharing a single bedroom apartment in Hollywood with Casey and Matt, to being of the new kings of Hollywood. Just awesome.
At the ending of the video with all of the emotions and excitement, Ben almost cried... It's amazing to see someone like him, his speech for his wife was very rewarding, and I hope that his movie will be very good... ! If the script of his new movie will be good ( that is sure that will be) it's sure that the action will be good too, Ben waited so much for acting as Batman, and now he has the chance, and I know that he will strive. For all of the haters, just try to do trhee things at the same time like Ben : acting, direction and production!
Hè is the nicest, intelligent, charming, friendly and wellspoken moviestar and producer ever!!! Sir Benjamin Géza Affleck is to wellknown, handsome and kindfull that's why so much jelousy around him!!!!
Thank you Ben! I love this guy so much he's so down to earth and he knows the real things going on. Love from an Iranian American :) You were a great Batman!
It's so easy to forget all the different ways in which he's talented. He's not always the most likeable celebrity, but the guy has Oscars for writing *and* producing, is widely acknowledged to have deserved the directing Oscar for this film, did a hell of a job acting in it, etc. Now he just needs to add singing and dancing and he'll have the whole deal.
I had faith in Ben Affleck directing the Batman movie because of his amazing performance in BvS. I just finished Argo (I watched it to have a look at his work as a director), and it was awesome, and well-directed. I have faith in Ben Affleck #FaithInBatfleck
doubtful since the academy doesnt take superhero movies seriously. The Dark Knight being the rare exception, and even that movie didn't get as many award nods as it deserved. But who knows? Ben Affleck DOES have a best picture under his belt and it sounds like his new movie Live By Night will be another contender . Can't say the same for Chris Nolan despite how popular his movies are.
Not a fan of many of Ben Affleck's movies but Argo was phenomenal. I loved it. I prefer to see him with JLO. She works hard and she would understand him better.
cristian trujillo Cranston could be anything he wants to be. He did the iPad Air commercial and even made IT sound like a decent product, instead of more obscenely overpriced nonsense.
I love Ben Affleck. He does seem like a genuine guy. He may not be the greatest actor (not saying that he isn't, he's a very fine one), but he is an amazing writer and producer. What I love most about him, is his passion towards his projects. You can see how much he really cares about Batman and the DCEU and everything else he does. Unlike a lot of the Hollywood actors who portray superheroes, Ben does actually love and care about his character portrayals and what not and genuinely cares what the fans think. I will always be Marvel, through and though, Comics & films, but f*ck, I cannot wait for The Batman. This film could be one of the best superhero films EVER. This has a big chance to surpass Nolan's films, in the sense of filmmaking & writing, as well as the superhero/batman element (most likely). I hope Ben has full control of this film, and DC & Warner don't try to control everything.
TheSchoolOfPotatoes yea you can tell he doesn't want to screw up the batman movie waiting for the right script before starting production of the movie as he did say batman is a movie is not a type of movie you can silently fail at
Tamara N The divorce with Jennifer Garner, and his blackjack addiction. But now he and Jennifer are together again. So now the things are starting becoming good again for Affleck ^^
I don't care about how people viewed the movie (whether you love it or not). Ben Affleck's speech was awesome. He was genuine and humble. He even gave respect for the other movies that also deserved to win. He gained my respect.
I feel bad that I actually laughed the whole minute of Ben's speech with his stuttering and nervousness but I don't blame him! It's either from excitement or uneasiness. His speech however was overall a wonderful speech. I couldn't help but feeling very uncomfortable watching him being that way since I feel the same being As the centre of attention. He must feel very uncomfortable being on stage and pressured but I applaud him for being an amazing director (from what I heard) and am looking forward to give Argo a watch soon! I am so RELIEVED that he's be directing the solo movie of Batman, he is perfect!

Argo was a good film, but it did fail to nail the seriousness of the situation in Iran that is told in the book
I totally agree
I love how he dedicated the award to his daughters at the end and nearly broke down.. (Violet, Sam, and Seraphina) Very touching.
Because their marriage was a JOB and it didn't work, and Ben was already about to separate from Garner, and he felt sorry at that time for separating from the children.
was Ben marriage to jgarner tumultuous? did Ben love jgarner at all? Did jgarner know that Ben was going to leave her?
He said a lot of important stuff in that last minute, and a lot of truth. Though I still love that... 7:46
ahahahaha
Mark Haze What did he said? His wife’s name?
@@moonlightfitz his children's names, Violet, Seraphina and Sam :)
Damn that was brutal to watch
right about 4:42: the tall guy coming up on the stage from the left is one of my favorite people in the whole world.
Beautiful score for Argo.
Affleck coming back for best director in The Batman...
hahahahahahaha good joke not even christopher nolan (except for best supporting actor)make it to the oscars in his batman films affleck has no chance
Maybe, but its Hard for superhero movies to get oscars-nominations yo know
Ralph Regis I have faith on him
bagus suherman heath ledger was a legend doe
not anymore :/
Argo totally deserved that award. It is humerous, tense, heart breaking and overall a unique movie that depicts an event that people need educating on. Affleck did an amazing job.
I liked more Django or Life of Pee, but Argo is a great movie.
Wow. Heisenberg, Batman, Joker, Danny Ocean sharing the same stage.❤
That was a really sweet speech! Good for you, Ben!
Loved how Affleck had to announce the Best Director this year. He just looked like he wanted to get it over with. I still can't get over how he was snubbed...
Argo is one of the most thrilling and best movies ive ever seen.
Idk much about him but Ben Affleck seems like a hell of a nice guy.
3:41 two Batmans are hugging!
And jokers on the stage too lol
Shahrez Aziz and also heisenberg
+Shahrez Aziz I was looking for Jared Leto the entire video and then I rembered that Jack Nicholson was the Joker too lol
DaChanChanMan e
I love ben he is a real person not perfect but real
I just finished Argo a few seconds ago. It deserved the Oscar. Ben deserves the Batman role. Damn awesome movie!
i'm so impressed with Argo. Thanks to Ben Affleck for making a amazing film that i can understand about plolitical history in this time.
It's not very historically accurate
I don’t understand why this world is just so full of hate! I haven’t seen much movies that include Ben but the ones I’ve seen, he’s good! And he’s an AMAZING BATMAN! Like he really is! He’s so humble and nice and I just don’t understand why people would hate on him for being in ‘bad’ movies, it’s not like it’s his fault that these movies didn’t get success . So for those who hate, STOP, AND did you see how emotional he was?! He meant everything he said and I could just see the sincerity in his eyes! WOW!
BRUCE WAYNE WON AN OSCAR 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
+Cynical Movement Hahah yes three Bruce Waynes have won oscars and one has been nominated !
+Avik Pandey lol yup
Cynical Movement 2*
I don't see Christian Bale there
PureMadness why would you ? Bruce Wayne won the Oscar not bale
Ben is brilliant!!!!!!! Both acting and directing
and he looked like he needed a moment to be wild for this great moment
You can tell he was nervous because of Jlo. She was standing clapping for him when he received this trophy. They always loved each other... 😭
Where was Jlo sitting at when Ben got his award? I didn’t see her was looking for her
No he's not Jlo is irrelevant lol
Two Batmen and a Joker on the stage.
+Konos P Oh NO!!! I liked Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. But Val Kilmer was the worst. I really liked Clooney's version of Batman.
+Konos P best batman Christian bale
+Konos P I like Kilmer and Clooney too, but the Dark Knight aspect really tilts me towards Bale. They're all great nonetheless
And Walter White
+escola83 Bryan Cranston looks like Max Payne.
Came here after hearing his Howard Stern interview. Damn. Bravo Ben. Bravo.
This is one of the best acceptance speeches Ben Affleck was great, stifling tears
That faint this is for you at 7:48 😢
And We Never Going to ever get "The Batman" Directed and Produced By Ben Affleck .
I’m excited for Robert Pattinson Batman, but I also wish we could ever seen Affleck’s version :(
Bryan Cranston with the Heisenberg look at the Oscars. Enough said.
Ben seems so nervous. For being such a dominating presence, it’s kind of refreshing to see him react how any regular person would.
I always liked Ben. Not quite sure where all the hate stems from. Seems like a genuinely nice guy.
i freakin love ben affleck
I love Ben man, such an inspiration. He came from sharing a single bedroom apartment in Hollywood with Casey and Matt, to being of the new kings of Hollywood. Just awesome.
What a beautiful beard he has. Looks so perfect.
For all of the haters, just try to do trhee things at the same time like Ben : acting, direction and production!
can't wait for Live By Night. This movie also produced by Leonardo DiCaprio
Now he just needs to add singing and dancing and he'll have the whole deal.
what a year for best picture nominees! wow, so many outstanding options! Argo deserved it. i’ve seen it many times.
I'm late but congrats Batfleck! So proud of you! Batman solo film will be the next best picture! 😃
+TheSimcraftFixion
And now he's the executive producer of the Justice League movie.
3DSDF Really? That's good news! :D
I had faith in Ben Affleck directing the Batman movie because of his amazing performance in BvS. I just finished Argo (I watched it to have a look at his work as a director), and it was awesome, and well-directed. I have faith in Ben Affleck #FaithInBatfleck
+Siddhant Pandey yes same here just saw Argo , amazing movie , he was also great in gone girl btw
doubtful since the academy doesnt take superhero movies seriously.
Ben affleck is on a roll like really fast and nervous and handsome as fudge
Not a fan of many of Ben Affleck's movies but Argo was phenomenal. I loved it. I prefer to see him with JLO. She works hard and she would understand him better.
2 Batmans and Heisenberg in the same stage? Epic...
Cranston also could be Jim gordon, he was the voice actor for him in the animated movie Batman: year one :) :) :)
And the Joker.
cristian trujillo Cranston could be anything he wants to be.
TheSchoolOfPotatoes yea you can tell he doesn't want to screw up the batman movie waiting for the right script before starting production of the movie as he did say batman is a movie is not a type of movie you can silently fail at
*Director, I meant.
Me too I respect Affleck so much. Hope that he overcome all this struggle ^^
Ryan Irwin- Diehl what personal family issues does he have?
Tamara N The divorce with Jennifer Garner, and his blackjack addiction. But now he and Jennifer are together again. So now the things are starting becoming good again for Affleck ^^
I have to say, Ben is so talented
I don't care about how people viewed the movie (whether you love it or not). Ben Affleck's speech was awesome. He was genuine and humble. He even gave respect for the other movies that also deserved to win. He gained my respect.
2012 was SUCH a good year in film-making!
Ben is a good person.wish him a happy life and a successful carrier
Jack Nicholson...what a INCREDIBLE voice!!!
Oh Ben, so much will change in 2 years :(
+Adi Adrian after the news it ré-changes in a better way, temporal rift ;)))))
+Adi Adrian Oh! You mean the divorce?
Alejandro Pérez Rodilla yes, it's very sad i think they're reconciliating :)
Ayrton Senna He broke up with Jennifer Garner ;(
Ayrton Senna No. He broke up with Garner because she realized he was cheating on her with the nanny of their children.
And you will back again for a new oscar BEN 😇
Fuck he really loves it he cried, never seen anyone get so emotional, he must work really really hard
Jennifer Garner is so cute !
2013 was really a great year if you see all nominated films👍. I still love every single film of that year.
