Beautiful rig , got a day cab heavy haul 20, 46 inch rears question will it hurt anything to remove the 2 inch blocks under the front leafs to lower the front end? Thanks in advance you build some amazing rigs top notch.
Hey Peterbilt steve i was wondering that those peterbilt 389 customs that you have on your channel do they have horns cuz i always see no horns on top do they have grover horns or no horn thats my best question
With those air cleaner lights it seems like the hood straps won't be able to fit around the light. Did it fit or did you have to slightly move the hood strap? Asking because I want those lights but don't want to mess with the hood straps.
@@SteveCarboneAwesome, thanks for the reply! Loving this truck, it'll be pulling triples for FedEx in Ohio next year. I really appreciate your videos, they helped make sure we got some options we wouldn't have thought about!
How does this beauty turn, looks like a 425 size tire. Does it have a good turning radius, as my heavy haul does but my dump truck doesn't and there both T800's
Just getting into a 389, figured out what everything does except for one thing I'm not sure. That would be the ABS switch on the dash, does it turn off ABS brakes? Or something else?
Beautiful truck. Is the 2 speed rear end a set and forget? The last one I had was in a 77 F700 Ford that shifted like a super 10. How do you get on the deck plate?
No sound, got stacks on my T800 and the dpf definitely takes care of the sound. Jake is quiet, and there is no more listening to your engine talk then shift, you have you watch you rpms now because it's so quiet.
Well, my pants got tight and I am now typing one handed.......Sweet, sexy ride Steve! One thing you mention from time to time is the “new” sleeper sizes. I have Googled high and low to no avail. When did Pete do this, and how in the Hell is a 63” now a 72”? How do they now measure I guess is what I am getting at? Thanks in advance man!
Lol, a few years or so ago Freightliner started measuring from the back wall to the back of the drivers seat to "increase" the advertised size of their sleepers. It forced the other manufacturers to do the same. Itz ze damn Germans fault!
Robert Esposito It’s a textured ( rock guard) plastic flare added to the fender because of the front tire size. It usually comes black but they painted it.
@@bmg5015 the automatics are really sweet!!!, trying to shift gears while trying to get through traffic just kills your left leg with working the clutch constantly
Peterbilt Steve in the UK a top of the range 730 scania would cost approx £150( $200) maybe more when uprated for heavy haul so I think your truck at $220-$230 is a great price! I would have thought around $400+, beautiful truck, love that peterbilt have kept the old style design, classic looks
Would spec’ing 46k suspension instead of 40k offer a stiffer ride? My T680 has the AG400L suspension and I’ve complained for years that it’s too damn soft, especially in comparison to the steer axle. The truck overall rides like crap because of that rear suspension.
You're an idiot too have 40k rear suspension on a heavy haul truck, 46k minimum I'm running 52k on my heavy haul truck. Maybe you missed that it's not an average highway truck.
@@waltlovegren5937 You're assuming I have a heavy haul truck, which I don't, and I clearly know what this Pete was optioned for. My question is simply about 46k suspension offering a stiffer ride. I wouldn't dream of using my truck for anything more than the air freight I haul now.
What's with the name calling Walt. Dion never said he was heavy hauler. He just asked a question. I'm smart enough to know that I'm not smart enough to answer his question.
I’m not a trucker; however, I am addicted to your videos.

Wow that kind of compliment from a 20 year veteran means more than you know.
That has to be the nicest flattop Pete that I’ve ever seen. The color, fit, and finish is simply top notch. The colored trim inside looks awesome!
thank you!
Not a driver but my dad was for many years, has over 4 million miles logged. This is a badass truck! Love your videos Brother!
That is exactly what I want as my first truck Steve. I just want a high rise sleeper. You’re the best
thank you!
Should've taped up the air bags before they painted it.
Looks like they are too lazy to mask anything.
Rashad Thomas it came from the factory that way, first 100 miles and its all gone. Thank you for the positive words
Peterbilt Steve Love the truck, what do they haul?
Homefront I see him with this truck all the time it’s a nice truck in person he pull 13 axle GE generator cell from Pensacola fl
Peterbilt Steve haters hating from their moms basement hahahaha great paint job sir
WoW Steve !! You guys did an Awesome job. I dont think there's anything left to do on that truck. Love the Details. 👍👍👍👍
Once again you nailed it. That color is a show stopper.
Possibly my all time favorite color
I believe I spotted this truck out in the wild working hard. Had to find more info. What a beauty.
Very cool
That beast will pull the world out of orbit, WOW!!!!!!!!

Is the overspray on everything cost extra? 🤣
That is the way they have come for over 30 years

Thanks!
Got to see this up close yesterday. What a beast!
Beautiful huh
I would love to see this truck with its trailer being used. Thanks for your video Steve.
Will try and put that together
Would I have to void my aftertreatment warranty. if I set up the 8" stacks directly to my aftertreatment system the way you did?
Very nicely done Mr.Steve
thank you!
The buyer spared no expense. Show truck!
They always do, great guys!
Just keeps getting better. Nice
I live in a 389 with a stand up sleeper, but I love them flat tops!!! BEEEEUTIFULLLL!!! Maybe orange inside a bit to much, but thats a nice truck
Thanks John
Awesome job, Steve and crew......👍👍
How much wider is the wide track steer axle than standard width?
Great job Steve. Love your heavy haul trucks. The color matched pieces on the interior look amazing.
Almost did not think there was a fender extension until you mentioned it. Not too bad!
Beautiful truck Steve I need a truck like that for heavy haul 389 are so beautiful 👍😍
Beautiful ride, Yes Sir.👌
Steve you out did your self Beautiful truck
Credit to the customer, all their ideas....

We mount the horns under the cab to keep the roof line clean
Nice ride. What was the build time? I'm considering a 389 tall Texan. Curious about the build time
That's awesome buddy
I think so too!
Damn thats a beautiful truck

What shade Orange is that? Awesome truck!
What orange is this ,Sir ?
What do you climb on to get to the headache rack?

chartreuse green
What Brand is that Front Bumper?

Looks like you forgot the steps.
King of the road.
Could you fit that push axle on a 01-07 379 EXHD with a 273" WB Obviously no DEF tank? Or would a short hood 379 be needed? Thanks.
273 would have to be a short hood

Thank you MV
Wow that is a beauty!
thanks
Should of painted the plate at shift tower orange too. Sharp truck!!
Steve, does that dynaflex change the sound any? Or is it just a looks thing?
Been wondering that myself. The DPF and DEF system surely cuts down on sound.
Just looks, there are no mufflers after the DPF even on the factory exhaust.
@@SteveCarbone Do they sound any different than a Pete without the DPF and DEF, but with mufflers?

Peterbilt Steve- Thanks for clearing that up. Makes absolutely no sense, so of course that would be Freightliner. See you on the next go round!
Steve, do you ever put train horns on these 389s? Not real ones, like Grand General and United Pacific
Yes on almost all of them
Peterbilt Steve awesome! That’s the way to go! We truck spotters love em’!
Craftsmanship is spectacular I just can't get into the orange lime green color everyone is going with.
except for all the lazy over spray
Is Black Jack hiring? 😎
Dunno, I would contact them
That flare on the front fender had a lot of orange peel in the paint, beautiful tractor

No orange peel, that is the texture of the material
What is the turning radius in metres please.
Steve what size is that visor?
How the hell does the dual steering gear system work?

wouldn't change a thing on this truck for how i do love the red

High profile front tires will ad some comfort
They do

what a Beast!!!
GRRRRRRRRRRR
Would 605 hp on a standard 389 help fuel mileage bc the motor is doing less work?
That has been my perspective on the 2050 torque same would apply to hp. Driver makes all the difference on how it performs
What’s the Weight ? The way it sits
WOW! That’s a truck.
Beautiful!! Very nice...👍👍👍
Besides those rear fenders i'm feeling it!
Would've looked good in chrome

18 speeds is alot of gears to shift, trust me your not missing much! lol!, but yeah they are fun to drive
