I really enjoyed seeing something unique - nice job Steve
Thanks Jim
Thanks for another presentation. I have seen this truck often hauling heavy equipment and in Canada used for hauling chemicals, and petroleum.
Unusual inventory piece and a nice walk-thru. Learned some things and a few rabbit holes were spotted. Time to do some research. Surely, you have a likely buyer in mind.
Allison all the way 44 years on the road ,F the manual auto rocks
Yup, if it's automatic, it's gotta be an Allison. None of that automated manual bs
Love trucks that have those beefy front tires. Makes it look really sharp
agreed
So many auto haters, it's your preference, heavy haul, in anything hilly with stops like west Virginia auto is the way to go, plus you can get a auto retarder which adds additional engine breaking, as well as continuous breaking to a stop, no clutch disengage with each downshift, all the way to a stop. Allison 4700 rated 600 hp and 2600lb torque, not going to break it.
Good looking 367 high hood!!
Neat truck. Allison trans are great for on/off hwy use and push/pull kind of heavy haul. The push buttons are the worst part. Should be a paddle shift on the steering column. But a cool truck still.
Can't get better than that. Nice
Thanks!
Why on earth does a heavy haul truck have a 7 speed
Why not???
Allison makes the difference. That first gear takes the place of the first 4 of a clutch tranny. Highway may be a different story though.
Because Allison HD automatics rock. The torque converter takes care of it. They run sweet. They can handle up to 1850 lb/ft of torque and more I think
On a heavy haul application, why not do a double frame or a single half inch?
there's really no need, especially if you're using a jeep, you won't legally be able to load the truck heavy enough to need double walled frame, double walled frame is more or less needed for oilfields and off road trucks
Was that truck spec'd out for B&V Specialized in Tulsa?
Its a copy of their spec yes
I like the round fenders at the back the gearbox the engine and the fact that is a 8x4
Another nice one. How are the Allison's holding up?
Bobby Horn A Lot of the Super-Load Trucking Companies that Require Push-Pull Applications are going to them. A Lot Easier to get the Timing, Speed, & RPM's Right with a Auto than with a Manual, Especially on a Grade.
Might wanna fix the video title there Steve. Nice truck though, I love the look of the set-back front axle heavy haul hoods. My uncle has a 357 set up that way.
Wow, I really was all over the place with that one, thanks for the heads up....
I drive a 357 concrete mixer its a 2000 model. I never see many of them these days though at least not around here
@@Jacob_6420 They look nearly identical to the 378 and 367 so it's hard to tell them apart.
@@MichaelTJD60 that's true. Another thing i wonder is why almost all i see say rush truck center. I'm in Virginia and even my work truck says rush on it.
@@Jacob_6420 They have a few stores in Virginia so all the trucks you see were probably sold there.
Dang me!!
Nice one dude!!
That spec sheet must look like evil Knievels x-rays
#loadedup
in an automatic like this do we have options on the gear ratio as well? what are the common options, if we do? thanks.
Gear options for days
Other than the headlight, this is fantastic.
So what is the difference between a 389 vs. 367? Look very similar.
367 is a set back front axle, from the firewall back its is the same as a 389
any maintenanance issues/failures with the Allison RDS? compared to an DT12, or 13spd?
I want the same 2020 367 with a x15 605hp 2050 torque mated a 18 speed Eaton fuller heavy haul spec
I’ll take the Allison’s over any other automated transmission, wish the offered it in 389 platform
Taylor Alldredge yes correct!! The Torque converter is what I love most
Curious, why won't they offer that 7-speed in a 389?
Because men don't want an auto.
Peterbilt Engineering has not approved it yet
@@mynameisray yes, real man love to grab the sticks
Nice truck I'm big fan of peterbilt s I just wish they improved the cab space options
With only a 7 speed how is that better than an 18 speed for heavy haul?
No clutch to burn up
Nice truck
Excellent spec'd Steve.
Can you put the gear selector on column
NO. Allisons use a large square keypad OR a "T" handle mounted in the square pad with buttons.
Hey Steve what was the reasoning for the drum brakes in the rear? I know you like to spec with disc so I wondered if it had to do with heat or something.
Looked like disk to me , the can was sideways instead of inline. Could be wrong though, wife says I usually are.
@@bostarbird5282 he says in the video the fronts are disc and the rear are drum
I noticed the same thing gentlemen. I think he’s tired from cranking out badass trucks.
@@andysmith3886 I heard that also but went back and looked when he was showing the rear air and electric. Not a big deal lol I'm not buying it just an observation. Either way I still enjoy his videos.
is that truck from 1970? look like its pretty old inside and outside
SWEET !
do you remember how much the rpms would drop between gears?
Fantastic question, but I apologize I do not. Be very different loaded and unloaded so my experience wouldnt be of much use. I can get you gear spread chart if you would like carbones@rushenterprises.com
Peterbilt Steve yes sir, thanks anyways though, and i hate to pester you with questions but you’re really the only person i can access who knows anything about new peterbilts, is it still possible to order a flat cab with a stand up still?
THAT Is Bad ASS..I Wish I could Crap the money for that one
Can you get that Allison 7 speed or the allison tc-10 in the 579. ??
yes yes
At 2:17 it sure looks to me like it has a disc brake air chamber on the rear drive axle, right side. Later in the video, you mention it only has discs on the steer. Am I seeing things? Or are you just exhausted from cranking out upper echelon units for your customers? Not trolling by the way. Other than the Bruce Jenner, that unit is stout and sweet.
What is the gear ratio with that 7' speed
What is the price diff between 6 spd and the 7 spd.
About $18k
Peterbilt Steve $18,000 ??
Between 4500 rds and the 4700rds.
Are the Allison 10 speed available for 567s with X15 Cummins And What’s the highest torque rating on the 10 speed if so?
Chris Moody 1850 torque for 4500 rds. Which is a 6 speed.
4700 rds will take 2050 torque
Which has a creeper gear.
Hope that helped you.
Jersey Guy Unless something has Changed, 1850 Torque is the Highest Rating you can get with a Allison, doesn't matter if it is a 4500RDS or a 4700RDS which are both Heavy Application Transmissions. That's is information that a couple different Kenworth & Western Star Dealers have told Me when Spec'ing them. I was told that you Cannot Get a 2050TQ Motor with a Allison Transmission. In a different comment someone else asked why the 1850TQ, Peterbilt Steven said the same thing.
Taylor Alldredge hello
I’m only telling you what my Pete dealer told me when i was ordering my Trk’s.
Would prefer the 389 heavy haul but this one would transfer more weight onto the front axle.
Any particular reason for not going with three axle disks? And have you ever tried the Jost 5th wheel and if so what do you think of it?
Cool rig, thanks for sharing it with us.
Not much experience with Jost, no particular reason just always been a Holland guy. Probably should have done disc but was trying to keep it under 220k
Winnyf1 389 heavy haul spec
565/1850 through a 7 speed auto with what rear ratio?
5.25
I pulled super bees with 6speed allison auto.. i never thought in a million years it would do as good as it did. It was actually pretty cool still not my cup of tea but it held its own.. i forget rear gear ratio but 100 km was 1600rpm
@@SteveCarbone Yep, that'll pull. And did you say there are _no_ Allisons available from factory in the 389 or just not the seven speed?
@@bobsyouruncle1574 Not an option in a 389, or at least not yet
@ And I'd have to immediately cut a big slit in that hood and add in glass to make the grill stand vertical like it should. Don't get me wrong, I love the w900l, but they take work to make look right. I could swap in an Allison myself.
Title is incorrect
Good looking truck. Amber strobes are outdated though.
Do you do custom work on older trucks as well?
I did not know Allison made a seven speed
Yep
The cost difference keeps most of the guys away I would bet. The ones running Allison’s anyhow.
Ken Worth $18,000 extra for one more gear, yes, I would think so.
Kevin Barry only the cremè de la cremè get that I suppose!
I Never thought I would be for them, until I had Employees. With A Lot of the Super Load Companies (500,000#'s +) Using them in their Push-Pull Applications they have Proven their Durability to Me. That and they are Nice for Traffic.
Not a big fan of his style, but this is nice.
I like a Pete for a Tanker configuration, but for a Heavy Haul you can't beat a KW T800
How much was it??
I dont remember
When did I get to the hub?
whaaaaaaaaaaat
What’s the price tag?
sold for around 220
Peterbilt Steve thanks buddy I’m the one that called the other day I have a 09 identical to that 362k miles premium overhauled 6nz cat about 20k miles ago new 18speed how much would you estimate it’s worth?
I bet it flies hauling logs.
I bet it would!
Pusher axle should of been a steerable make the fender match. Not enough torque in that motor. That sucks autobox is in in the way to bunk.
Curious as to why the pusher axial isn't steerable?
It isn't a single, its a dual......
@ im glad you cleared that up ;), so why isn't steerable?
because it’s a dual and wouldn’t clear the frame
👍😉. Nice
This truck is for sale, as a driver with 10 years heavy haul, i would say this truck is a "JOKE ", an automatic, seriously. For heavy haul work.
Can you seriously tell me, since you are in the heavy haul game, that you have never seen an automated trans in a HH application?
What in the sam hell is an auto doing in a Pete? Have you lost your mind?
Much better than a manual trans, I agree.
This truck was almost perfect until he got to the transmission part
Why?
That Allison is amazing. I'd take it over a manual any day.
Merry Christmas and I’m gonna answer both of you guys questions back in the 90s when I started driving trucks they were all sticks shift hand shakers so that’s what I’m used to I’ve driven the Volvo I shift and it’s OK but it doesn’t feel manly
Nice truck but looks very dated
thanks
