Interestingly, I wore an outfit into a shop recently to buy some home stuff. A couple of days later I went back to the same shop in the same outfit. The young girl looked me up and down and said”didn’t you have that on the other day ?”
“Yes” I said and I’ll be wearing it again next week
She looked at me as though I was another planet 😂😂
I absolutely love wearing my clothes on repeat and what’s on my wardrobe gets worn
Have a good week everyone x

One of the reasons why I subscribed to you channel was actually because of the worn sneakers ☺or in other words: your autenticity. It´s not just "influencer-advice", but realistic ideas for real people which can be applied in the real world. Is what I think ☺

I sometimes search Poshmark for clothes to see if I still like them when they look broke-in.

I really enjoyed this on the worn vs worn-out! I believe in Starch and ironing! Starch though adds huge life to a garment. Always love your approach!!! Also your dream wish list! Awesome!!!! 😁

I have a big, high-quality wardrobe that I love, so I always shop there first. But I lost a lot of weight and maintained that for years, so I’m gradually having to replace my items with smaller-sized ones. (I already sized down everything as much as I can, I do my own alterations, but an XL to a Medium is a big change). I spent last week taking in every skirt, there’s a lot, for the third time. I am choosing much more carefully and thoughtfully this time around. At my age, 63, I don’t want to buy any things that won’t last for the rest of my life. I incorporate only the trends that I love and which work with my classic style, to keep it up to date. There are many trends I won’t consider this year, like sheer (polyester) fabrics, micro “belt” mini skirts, and all those embellishments. But, there are some classic-revival trends I love, too, like those collared “polo” knit tops and sweaters and those Safari-style cotton or linen pieces. They’ll never be unwearable, if well-made in natural fibers.

Thank you for expressing and displaying the reality that clothes get worn! I recently paired down my wardrobe and put everything else I wasn’t sure about or wouldn’t fit me due to going through my third pregnancy. I have found that I am wearing things more often and they need routine care and cleaning. That’s OK! I’m actually feeling really satisfied and happy about this. Before, I would actually feel worried when I was wearing my clothes. I finally caught myself and realized this was a big problem.

THANK YOU Signe for showing your "worn" clothes! It's such a pity that most UA-camrs show unworn new clothes every week, that our subconscious think THIS is reality (even if we are actually aware of the true reality.) But it's not and we need more women like you who are showing us, that we can look stylish and put together without buying a lot. Thank you so much for your work!!! 💖💝💓

Dear Signe, I keep forgetting to tell you that you are practically the only young fashion “influencer” I watch. I’m 65 years old so I have more in common with older women. You however, are so practical and smart that I always hear something useful to me, even at my age. 😊

This video is perfect for explaining slow fashion and why it's important. I want to be the person in my circle who normalizes re-wearing items/outfits. I don't need to have a new outfit for every occasion when it will just sit in my closet and have such a high cost per wear, not to mention the impact on our planet. Signe, what you're doing is impactful.

Hi Signe, I always love your videos and I’m glad to see a good sense of reality in it. ‘Obsession with newness and perfection’ is what you see a lot in videos about minimalism and capsule wardrobes. Clothes will look used over time and that’s fine. They are actually being used well and are worth their cost! Nothing stays new forever indeed. Thank you for sharing and yes, Open Wardrobe is an awesome app! My personal stylist recommended it to me and it makes getting dressed so much easier! I started shopping my own closet way better 👍🏻

I shop from a list, but try to keep a little room for those items I “fall in love with”. I’ve bought many of my favorite items this way, but they have to meet all or most of my criteria for color, fabric, fit and style. I just check my favorite brands online, and wait at least a day to order them, so these aren’t as impulsive as in-store purchases, which I rarely make these days. One of my favorite finds: a pale-blue silk knit hoodie (more elegant than sporty, from Theory?), it’s just amazing how much I’ve worn it. I knew the color, fabric, etc., were perfect, even though I don’t wear sporty clothes much, and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. It has a tiny cost-per-wear now, but looks brand-new and is one of the most versatile and comfy items ever. Another is a patterned silk top that isn’t really in “my colors”, but it turned out that it makes so many odd-colored bottoms I have look great, and it’s beautiful (Jigsaw). I bought it match one skirt, but it turns out to match, or just look great with, about ten of my skirts.

Thank you for your videos! I am going on vacation tomorrow and, as with every previous vacation, when I was packing my suitcase, I was thinking 'I have not enough clothes' and 'I need to buy something new'. But thanks to your videos I more and more learn to have a structured wardrobe and I indeed have a shopping list. And indeed some things stay on that shopping list for months before I find something that has the right quality. Even though I think a lot in terms of scarcity and when I see a missing link, I think I need to buy it right now, it turns out those months aren't really a problem. Even on vacation ;)

I enjoyed this. I recently purchased a second pair of sandals in a neutral color for this Spring/Summer and I have been hunting for a bag to match as my handbag collection is lacking one light/neutral bag. I found one yesterday and didn’t get it because it wasn’t on sale 😂. I said all that to say I feel like I’m at the fun part of adding to my wardrobe. I’m making sure anything I replace or add in is just right and really works with everything else and I am starting to feel like I really know what I’m doing now. Thank you for all of your kind help ❤👖👚🥿

I very much enjoyed this video. It helps reinforce a less is more way of thinking that works for me. When I had a huge closet, I was only wearing the same pieces I loved over and over again so now I keep a focused closet of high quality pieces I love and rewear for years.

The 'Open Wardrobe' app is WONDERFUL, I use it all the time! I don't have my jewelry or sunglasses on there but along with all clothing, my shoes & purses are digitized, I'm also more choosey when it comes to what I get & I look more for the quality, cotton, linen, cashmere & for a few 'special pieces', silk & in the classic styles that are easier to 'mix & match', it's basically 'granimals for grown-ups' ;) The '80/20 rule' as it applies to clothes/wardrobe is correct... 80% classic staple pieces that, if good quality & you take care of them, they can last for years, 20% trend that you don't mind switching out more often as the trends come & go.

I do not see the downside of being tempted to shop, but a motivation to combine your existing clothes in a new way.

I'm in the process of changing my attitude towards "wearing (out)" pieces. I used to be kind of afraid and tended to even spare certain items or forced myself to wear my less nice stuff first. I try to not do this anymore. Obviously, there's a philosophical reason, we only have this one life (supposedly), what have I been waiting for? But it's also changing my satisfaction with and gratitude for my wardrobe. I enjoy wearing my stuff and take the imagined risk of getting wear and tear. It oddly satisfies me when pieces actually do wear out and are literally ripped. This didn't happen to me in the past! I always decluttered stuff before it was anywhere near worn out. But regular clothing (not heavy duty stuff like undies or shoes) does not wear out that fast anyway. Some of my favourite pieces are 5+ years old and I will wear them till they literally fall to pieces. I don't mind mending holes. A good indicator also is, if you wash something and want to put it back on immediately after drying. If I feel deep down that that is not the case, I often declutter those pieces now. I used to keep them anyway because I needed "less nice" clothing (see above 😂 ).

I enjoyed hearing many famliar concepts here. I've garnered wisdom and interest in different eras so I sometimes see something iI like in style, but i don't care what others say is in style I am not a sheep. My wisdom says downsize and keep just the affordable things i am likely to need and feel comfortable wearing. I used to shop at LOW cost second hand stores Salvation Army and Goodwill, Community Aid, in seasonal capsule wardrobes that fit my body, use pattern, and coloring. That simple. I don't need to shop now. As I am not impulsive, advertisers value my opinions less. I no longer feel the need to be a size 5, of spend money on the newest thing. Life is more simple and peaceful. I can accomplish the goals listed here without spending more than $10 for a shirt or pair of slacks that wear well and long. I think the new trend is to convince impressionable people that they have to spend $50 for a shirt or slacks to be respectful of earths resources. .Alwyas someone trying to charge more for clothes. CLothes are only tools to accomplish work- you will never get the money back out of them once you spend your money on them.

I'm not a minimalist but I want to shop less for clothes. My biggest problem was that I was storing stuff wrongly. I had my t-shirts and leggings that I wear every day in drawers and my sweaters in the wardrobe. I kept buying more t-shirts because I had no idea I had enough already. So today I swapped them round and I don't need anymore clothes as my two wardrobes are tidy but full. I don't want to declutter again for now apart from a few tshirts. I'm going to see what I use first and go from there. I thrift clothes and they are so cheap that it's easy to buy more. But I need to stop buying for now.

Thank you for normalizing wearing things that look worn! I actually find it a little embarrassing to wear an outfit that looks all brand new. If you think about a character who looks amazing in a movie (Winona Ryder in Reality Bites was the first character who taught me this many years ago) the clothes they wear look worn in and perfectly suited to them- their leather boots mold to their feet, their vintage dress drapes to their form, their worn jeans fit them exactly. I want pieces in my wardrobe that are character driven and look and feel like me, not something brand new I copied from someone else.
