- The Via Vandelli is a former military road built in the 18th century by Domenico Vandelli. Originally used to transport troops and goods, Steve Jones has repurposed the road to test the Shimano EP801 motor. Venturing through the mountains and ending at the Carrara Mable quarry, where a scene from 007 Quantum of Solace was filmed. This breathtaking ride is bound to make you pick up your eMTB and head to the nearest mountain range!

Please ask Steve if he could just verbally compare the guide Santa Cruz versus the canyon CF8 that he wrote. I’m torn between the two and only got one shot at the correct decision. Thanks for your help!
Top gear for emtb
Via Vandelli is 170 km. long. Starts from Modena and arrives to Massa Carrara. Normally you need 2/3 days to be ride it all. Specially the first part includes beautiful trails and roads in the hood.
I am screenshotting this :D just been to Massa on Sunday it's gorgeous!
This is what I love about this channel, more of this please.
It might be time for an hour feature EMBN film. I just get into it and its over!
That ride down is not for the faint of heart, good thing Steve only had Coca Cola and lemon soda the night before. Even I feel a bit thirsty just watching it! 😄
Perfect made video like all the ones your team makes, I just have to see this on my 90 inch plasma tv because it’s very well made video and watching on a phone makes no justice mi respect 👍
What a beautiful trail. I put this one on my bucket list. Thanks for this very interesting great video.
Inspirational ! Great video and what a stunning location
Great filming and commentary! Well done guys!
beautiful film. So glad I started watching your channel prior to buying my e-mtb
Steve always does these difficult and testing trails in some of the most beautiful parts of the world, and without e-bikes, a lot of this wouldn't be possible 👍🏽
EMBN is the Best show and the heart and irony is the view of the Mountain all over the Continent. Just loved it and Im the #1 Fan….Salamat 👍
Amazing, what an adventure Steve, this is a fairy tale for emtb.❤
What a great video. Super enjoyable to watch you guys on the trails being real 👏👏👍🏼
Fantastic content ,Best thing I've watched in a long time
Loved it! Great video
Great video but, come on.....still shooting in 1080p???🤦♂
This is my decompression video after a hard days work!! Thank you Louie and Steve!!! Beautiful work, well done!
Great video, bring it on, well done.
You know we need a head to head with EP8 Di2 v Powertrain. You just know it.
History, beauty and EMTB’ing, what else do you need.
Thank you for taking us to such a fabulous place. I'm not sure my rock garden descending skills are good enough for coming back down that trail. But I would love that wonderful climb.
Tuscany looked incredible to ride an ebike in, well handled on the tight corners and loose rocky descent comined with beautiful scenery in Tuscany the perfect bike road trip holiday. Next big road trip for me? Probably next year up in the Highlands of Scotland somewhere, thanks for this episode, really enjoyed! 😁🤙
Amazing!!
Wow, what scenery! Another great video.
Super cool. We all have extra epic trails in are country. 😊
Love it!!! It’s on the list for 2024! Woohoo!!!
Awesome video, guys! One of the best! I absolutely love it! Can you tell me which glasses did you both wear in the video?
Amazing Steve
Beautiful place to ride but for some of us the distances and expense are out of our budget .
I think some US cities have done a great job of promoting areas and building trails along rivers and wooded areas !
Bicycling has never had it so good for all age groups !
Awesome Video. When are we going? 💥💥💥
Nice 👍
Great ride. Perhaps wild camp next time instead. I’d love to see this as a bikepacking tour.
NICE ❤
There is smth missing here, a GPX file for tho who have no idea where to find this trail ;-)
Epic
Steve i can't wait untill my Vitus E-Escarpe 290 VR Mountain Bike arrives its a far cry from my home made diy bafang mid-drive mountain bike build thanks to you and Ray in fact how is Ramondo,
"The weirdest collection of farting."
Hilarious, Mr. Jones.
Wow
Hows the drivetrain after that quarry dust?
Enough. I‘m subscribed ;-)
And you don't wear knee pads? Titanium nuts 😁 Amazing trails!
If anyone out there had a choice between that Canyon that Steve Road and the Santa Cruz that the guide road which would you prefer? I find they’re pretty close to the same except for that 900 W battery curious to know what the world thinks??
Is it possible to get a canyon strive on in australia?
Where do I find the route that was taken
ive been pondering the "Hyperglide vs Linkglide" question myself.. As im looking at a new wheel set up for my E-mtb.. Currently running Hyperglide SLX/Deore.. It would be pretty cheap to switch to Linkglide.. So should i order the new wheels with HG or stick with Microspline and SLX/Deore..
I switched to Linkglide a year ago of my Vitus E-Sommet. I had a use for XT/SLX 12 spd on my MTB build and was also able to swap the freehub on DT Swiss 1700s so it was not a big outlay for the benefit. I don't miss the HG on my eMTB at all, the 11 spd Linkglide works well and I have not broken a chain so far (still on the original in fact) I previously broke an SLX chain on the HG set up.
Warriors in unison - Epic..
I always wanting a bike for my adventure... I had an ordinary bike but it was beyond repair and cannot be fix here in philippines
so that's the drivetrain shot then
Bond drove a DBS in quantum of solace for the car nerds.
La Toscana è unica
err... @11.17 riding in trail mode!! check your video you were in boast everytime your display was in view. 😂
Why we ride. Poison Spider mesa in Moab... my next again ride
What mountain bikes were made for❤
Proud to be "Toscano"
There’s bikes and ebikes, what on earth is an analogue bike. Great video though
Ep801 is same as ep8 apart from better sealing and electronics, power is same
Garganfana ! 🤣
Bofo riding. Could live without the cabbage experience. Maybe some lightweight bivouac gear for outdoor sleeping.
