Oh I agree. I distinctly remember Michael Anson's review in Newsweek. He labeled the movie as a "disappointment" and a "big one." And it was. But there are levels of terrible, just like in Dante's Inferno. TPM, at the very least, had relevant political commentary. It was still about "human frailty." Now the great struggle is solely focused on identity politics issues, or in other words, the greatest threat revolves around prejudices, not state power. This is a massive shift and fans have finally had enough of it.
It's funny. I was born and raised in the melting pot that is Southern California. My parents came to the US, legally, in 1963. I didn't grow up with this narcissistic, intersectional, identity politics stupidity. No one cared about skin color or who you chose to sleep with because no one advertised it! I didn't need representation or need to "see myself" in entertainment to enjoy and cherish characters . Now, I'm being told by young, ignorant, dolts that I should view everything through the prism of race and consider myself a perpetual victim? Idiocy.
It's meant to be idiotic so people oppose it. It's all about dividing the population into tribes. People are easily controlled when they are bickering with eachother.

Have to disagree with Script, Star Wars was ALWAYS influenced by religious themes. Him being mad about immaculate conception and "blaming" George is ridiculous. Sorry buddy, you can't have The Force without the spiritual, unseen dimension of reality. Some people are so anti religion that they can't even accept relevant concepts in their magical space fantasies.
Script is awful.
Does The Force tell you what to do and what not to do? No? Then it's not a religion that is recognisable amongst any we have had on this Earth. It's the ultimate Californian hippie religion, no commandments, no divisive opinion on abortion, just 'good', 'energy' and telekinesis.
Man, the anti-woke crowd/creators are really banking in on this terrible show. Maybe this will make Disney stop making terrible shows/movies---they're just making money for the people they hate at this point lol.
When Disney has to emphasize the sexual orientation of the director, Leslye Headland, as well as a number of actors in 'The Acolyte' in order to virtue-signal, that already means the series is awful and doesn't have a chance.
Think of any great movie, movie franchise, or TV series you loved growing up: Did you ever desperately need to know the sexual orientations of their directors, producers, actors, etc? OF COURSE NOT and that's the point. Disney relies on woke pro-LGBTQEIEIO4KTVBYOB headlines to sell this dumpster fire of a TV series (a dumpster fire that stays ignited in the vacuum of space, apparently since neither Leslye Headland, Kathleen Kennedy, nor Disney executives understand basic physics). ;)

I’ve said before, Disney wants consumers, not fandoms. The difference is that consumers will go and watch the movies but nothing else. They’ll go, not be too invested and then get excited for the next product. An example I can point to is Fast and Furious. It’s a popular franchise but people aren’t invested in the universe or the lore, there isn’t really an extended universe, people don’t line up to buy merch for it. If the movies mid it’s okay because there aren’t really expectations as long as car go vroom and gun go pew. Fandoms will actually get invested in the franchise, learn about the lore, explore extended universes, want more of the franchise in books, comics, toys, etc. But there are expectations with fandoms. You can’t just slap the franchise label on something and expect people to eat it up, and if it’s bad they’ll let you know.
Disney has been doing this flipping the bad guys to be the good guys in all their shows. The evil queen, nope not that evil, Cruella misunderstood, etc. now Star Wars, the Acolyte. Well good news, that’s an entire series I don’t have to waste my time watching.
It's part of their Satanic worldview. When you reject the idea of objective morality, it's all about what you will to be good and evil. And in the case of these writers, you are giving that responsibility to one of the biggest monsters in Hollywood's right hand woman.
I believe satanism also tries to invert everything ...but maybe we aren’t ready to have that conversation yet

Star Wars has drifted so far away from the movies I enjoyed in my youth that I am parting ways with the franchise ... I will return and enjoy IV, V and VI but not the rest of the catalogue.

I’ve never been super fan of SW, but the reason I liked the Lucas movies because they were fun, exciting, I bought the characters so I bought their quests too. This new stuff, I just couldn’t care less because characters aren’t interesting, they are OP so totally unrelatable, and the sci fi backdrop is just as dull as everything else. The woke stuff, that’s just boring personified. I really couldn’t care less that this Ewok or whatever is depressed because he’s being misgendered or whatever. I mean come on! Your whole personality boils down to how depressed they are about how others treat them?!

These IP's are now practically religions. They have their own deep history. They have devout followers who worship them. Imagine being a director who decides to radically change the story of a religion in a film to fit their own agenda. Of course followers will be upset! It's sacrilegious! Star Wars was a beautiful myth. Now it's an absurd and twisted bit of propaganda.

Actually i wouldnt care if Frenchy would have been bisexual/gay from the start but it seems so out of place/character. He suddenly is gay OUT OF NOWHERE. The whole relationship with Kimiko is suddenly completly different. It was an almost cheesy love relationship of two individuals who completly understood each other to now two fomer lovers falling out of love for no reason/explanation fucking other people. It is weird and makes no sense.
To Cookie’s point re: the Jedi. Since the OT, I have thought that Ben and Yoda were seeing things from “a certain point of view.” Even in ROTS, Ben says, unaware of the irony of his statement, “Only a Sith deals in absolutes.” The Jedi of the Republic were not the Jedi from ancient history and really what makes a Jedi? Robes? No. Lightsabers? No. They lose those all the time, etc. It’s the Force and the desire to use their special connection to It to do good. So I don’t have a problem with throwing shade at the Jedi. They weren’t perfect beings, but sure did act like they were. To their own downfall. “The best Sith were always Fallen Jedi.”
However, there are signature Star Wars tropes that these shows ignore and little diatribes that they feel they need to insert that don’t really advance or enhance the story. So I don’t watch.
Seems like they're taking sole inspiration from the SW Christmas Special these days.

What people need to understand is that the Prequel Trilogy is the lore. Lore is not the story. It is something that is to be referenced by the story.
This show reeks of postmodernism. If there's no good or evil, then there's no point in getting invested anyway.
The dams have broke. All of the lecturing the entertainment industry has done to its audience over the past 12 years is growing dangerously thin. But this won't stop woke. All entertainment in the future will bow down to it. What that means is our years of enjoying entertainment is over. Better find some new hobbies.

1:13 - that argument against the immaculate conception premise with Anakin doesn't make sense. He was no more an ordinary boy than Luke was which is what made the idea of the chosen one work. There's a very limited amount of Force sensitive folks in the Star Wars universe Lucas created so that alone made the Skywalker's special even though they had to earn their respective abilities. Add to that the irony that it was a Sith that created its own eventual destructor.

in regard to grace randolph she has stated in her youtube shows about what is going on in the film industry that she owns disney stock. Although in her film reviews she will not usually state that. I'm sure I heard her say it at least a couple of times when she does film industry updates. I heard her say it in at least a couple of her youtube shows and she likely has said it more often where I wasn't watching. if disney is in the news, then she likely will say she owns that stock. I don't know if that is the reason for her liking the acolyte but who knows. It would depend on how much she put in I would think. At least she does let her fans know that she is invested in it.

In a world without good or evil there are few interesting stories because there are fewer conflicts and no redemption arcs.
If nothing is better than anything else then who the hell cares what happens in any story? But you're being fooled by the pretensions to neutrality: there is a replacement morality being substituted, where non-white, non-male, non-straight is "good", and everything else is "problematic" and needs to do penance by stepping aside and giving opportunities to the intersectionally deserving.

If you are upset that Star Wars has religious themes in it then you probably shouldn't watch more than 15 minutes of the first movie.
