Replacing the drivers side and passenger side engine motor mount on a 2006 Nissan Xterra.
Friend concern was the car vibration at idle. Vibration was noticeable on the steering wheel at a stop.
Replaced both mounts and vibration was gone. Passenger mount was cracked and had liquid seeping out of it.
Car was towed to because it had expired plates.

This is the way every repair video should be done, quick to the steps, no long intros or unnecessary comments.
Asian dude with an American flag in his garage wearing a Toyota shirt working on a Nissan.....GOD BLESS AMERICA! Good video by the way.
Thank you for this well done video. No talking and wasted time, great editing, a condensed video on this process but all the important information conveyed, this is a excellent demonstration on changing these mounts.
Agreed. I wish more how to videos were like this.
All cool and all is just kinda scary to lift the engine from the oil pan.
Excellently done video. All repair vids should be like this.
... way simpler than I thought it was thanks
Recently was quoted $600 labor to replace two motor mounts on my 05 Xterra. Second opinion, nearly identical. Think I’m going to do it myself after watching this vid. I got all the tools I need.
I just got the call from my dealership today for my 08. $1,000 to replace LOL. I'm definitely trying this myself.
so did you?
@@butchgreene Yes. got a buddy to help me. Used the PRG ones. Took about 30 min to do
Both of mine are busted, glad I found this video. Looks a lot easier to replace than I thought it would be.
This was obviously 2WD. Mine was way harder to see and reach from underneath with the front differential almost directly under the driver's side mount. Good job on this video though, thanks!
Glad I read your comment. Don't want to tackle this on my own and now I realize why. My 4WD it's a blind spot.
You make it look so easy. I guess I should invest in an impact wrench also although a breaker bar could be just as effective.
Dude your videos are legit and very helpful. Thank you.
This video is excellent! I had oil under my motor mount but on the passengers side but wasn’t sure where the oil was coming from. Looked at other videos that showed how to change them but you went out of your way to show they are filled with oil. Your the best!
i'm happy this video helped you, Allen. thanks for the comment
This is much more difficult when having 4x4 model. I don’t see the front axle at all so must not be 4x4.
Video excellent it really help me to identify a huge vibration issue..thanks Dude
Your video really helped me with replacing my mounts
best video Demonstration on you tube
Perfect video! Thanks so much for your help!
lol the only word he said the whole video “SH1T” 😂
That feeling when a bolt slips from your fingers and falls into a hole in the core support 😮😢
thank you! recently bought a '14 XTerra with a vibration when put into gear, was thinking motor or transmission mount and you confirmed it!
I have a 2014 Xterra with a vibration also. I thought motor mounts were suppose to last longer than this.
Awesome video. Their probably hydraulic motor mounts.
You are good brother
Thanks great video. I’m about to do my Nissan Titan and it seems a bit more difficult
Were you able to change it on the Titan and any instructions on the internet/ your experience?
Much appreciated, thanks
Anyone else doing this I would suggest only replacing one side at a time if possible.. I took out both mounts first and I ended up chowdering all 4 under side bolts and holes to hell (the two on each side holding the end of the bracket to the engine brackets).. Had to tap and die the bolts and holes to get everything back together properly and a trip to the local hardware store for one bolt (one bolt couldn't be saved). Give yourself a lot of time for this even though it looks simple and hand tighten everything first!!! All the bolts minus the ones that go through the mounts to the engine brackets should be able to be hand tightened at least most of the way before ever touching the socket. Then lower the engine where it barely puts load on the bracket, and then tighten everything. I learned the hard way and I consider myself not.. An idiot per-se but at least just a notch above one.
S-H-I-T 🤣🤣 SAME WORD I USE WHEN DROP A SOCKET IN THE ENGINE AREA!!
VERY GOOD VIDEO!!!
And maybe a few more choice words. Great video.
Another job well done. Thanks for the great vids.
Omg man thank you mine is shaking lightly while idle thinking about changing them cause i feel the top is wet always on the metal side but any way since its not stable on idle itll not while rev but i have to get a good jack or fix mine cause its release after sometime
Nice trick on the diagnose, Angel.
Oye amigó... nececito cambiar los soportes de una Nissan Frontier 2007 ... Más o menos cuanto seria por todo el trabajo y partes? Gracias espero me respondas mi pregunta
Great work 💪👏👏

Yes. Alot of nissans are oil filled
Awesome video once again, Mahalo!
that took me all day - but it was an Altima.
Thanks didn’t think about putting the wood block before and put a small dent in the oil pan smh 🤦🏽♂️
Drivers motor mount is definitely bad on my 05. How would I know if the passenger is?
So easy no rust.yep no snow over there
When the trans mount is bad does it jiggle upon excelloration
Good work easy bissy
Hello guys, just to confirm if they same model number the left and right motor mount? Thank you in advance!
Thanks for sharing. Have you fixed an over drive that won't turn off/on for a 2007 Frontier?? take care from Tn by way of Phoenix AZ.
Good job on the video.
Waoo u know whats u doing thanks
I like this channel. Sub'd.
Any ideas on how to diagnose one with a manual transmission?
Bomb Job!!! But why Duralast mann?
What year Xterra is this and will it differ drastically from year to year. Awesome video btw.
Is it similar replacement for Nissan Titan 4x4 ?
what about transmission mount how it's replace
Is it 4 wheel drive
looks like Nissan powers steering fluid
How to replace Nissan patrol 2019 model engine mounting easy step
What would this cost to have done by a mechanic? How many labor hours required? Thanks!
Did you lift the engine at all prior to removing the bolts or afterwards to remove and replace mounts?
I think I showed what I did on the video. You need to watch it.
@@FixItAngel I did! It was a great video, just wasn’t sure if you lifted the engine prior to loosening bolts . Thank you !
@@theTony2times 1:07 placed the Jack underneath the oil pan. Jack is not lifting it.
3:00 slightly lifting the engine
Sorry if it’s been answered, how big is your tank?
Hi, my compressor is 25 gallons
liquid filled mounts....soy sauce for cars.
Please help! If the mounts are bad would the truck vibrate heavily when at idle?? I am looking at a used one on a lot and it shook strong while idling in any gear... Thanks!
yes
@@FixItAngel Great, thank you. If the engine mounts are bad should you change the trans mount as well?
Mahalo
Do you have to drop the diff on a 4 wheel drive?
No. I did my 2007 4x4 Xterra 4 years ago and did not have to drop the diff. Seems like I remember having to remove one of them by sliding it to the front while the other side slipped to the back. Good luck.
Dear.. Parking Brake engaged + Pedal Brake for all 4 Wheels additionally then Accelerating? This is how to check Motor Mounts?
Muhammad Ali hi, emergency brake engaged, then you need to press the brake with left foot, then put on drive and/or reverse. Press gas pedal a little with right foot. See if engine moving a lot. Make sure there is no person on front or rear of car. Person can see the engine while on the side of the car.
Thank you so much
After 1 year study of Automobile, I started to work in a private Garage since 2 weeks before. I'm trying to learn Fault Diagnosis also.
Land Cruiser GX-R V8
It has Radiator Fan which runs through Drive Belt which means Fan RPM = Engine RPM.
If you know about this or if you could suggest me a website through I can read about it how it's actual mechanism.
Hello, been watching your videos for long time..now I have a car needed some work, how can I get a hold of you or your number? Thanks
How many hours would this take a novice (but handy) person to accomplish with all the same tools as you have in this video?
I just got done with it today on my 12' pathfinder (same engine/everything as xterra). I started yesterday and it took me in total about 5 hours. Just FYI.. If I were to do it again it would probably only take me an hour-ish. Follow what he did to a tee. When installing, the bolts, put the center bolt in from the bottom first (with or without the bracket, easier without the bracket), then put the two bolts in from the top, but dont screw them in all the way, let the engine down, then take out the center bolt from the bottom and install with the bracket if you didn't before, and then torque it all down. Disclamer though. Both of the bottom side bolts that hold the bracket in on BOTH SIDES stripped.... I don't even understand how. I hand tightened them to start them, then started wrenching. But mine is a POS I got duped into buying a month ago and I have been working on it ever since so YMMV. I dont think the bracket does much for integrity just taking a little bit of torque off the center bolt but I'm just going to have a shop chase the threads out and then install replacement bolts.
@@n78966969696896 Thanks for taking the time to share all of this!
cool
Sounds like the timing guides needs to be changed too.
23Xterra why you are so sure?
That whirring noise when he revved the motor...
@@danielburke6534 You're probably right. Xterras have a knack for chewing through the guides on the timing chain tensioners. Eventually it becomes metal on chain contact, causing the whirring you're referring to. Sluggish performance as well. Good ear.
My Pathfinder has the infamous timing chain whine as well...sounds like a supercharger on cold starts.
Hello sir do u have any information about lumina 2000 model ABS faulty error , when I started my car and drive on the road, when I push the break paddle there is a noise it's like "tick tick tick" and on its screen there is ABS faulty error on the system
I'm guessing cracked tone ring on a CV axle, or a bad wheel speed sensor.
Can the same procedure be done for a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder?
Joshua Figueroa does it have the same motor in this video
@@FixItAngel
Yes a 4.0l
Joshua Figueroa more likely it’s same procedure
@@FixItAngel
Thanks Angel
Yes same identical procedure I have a 05 pathfinder

Not uncommon to see oil filled mounts. My old 1999 Accord 3.0L V6 had oil-filled mounts front and back that had engine vacuum supplied to them.
Those are not motor mounts they are engine mounts. A motor is electric. A Tesla does have motors.
