I just printed them with a transparent filament. They work perfectly!

Best buckle ive printed so far. Works great and very strong if you use 0.15 or lower layer lines. Handled me and my wife using it as a tug of war piece. I was surprised as i figured the 3d printed pinned side would definitely be a weak point.

Thank you for an awesome desing! I was wondering you would consider sharing the source files? I'd love to be able to tweak some parameteres for my use case. I know there are .STP files on printables, but those are not as easy to work with as full-fat f3d files (or whatever software you use)

It's 20%, but you can use 15% as well.

no way that pin on the "loop end" is going to hold any weight.

I didn't try to test how much the pin buckle can hold, but when I pulled the straps with my hands, its strength is very convincing. Of course I wouldn't recommend using it for security purposes.

Can confirm the pin is solid. My first test print in petg using cura wouldn't release after clicking everything together. Even pulled with pliers, pins still there, buckle still stuck... it'll hold your bag shut tight just fine, its not for rock climbing. Next prints came out amazing using prusaslicer without bridge detection, genuinely a good design. A Gear Aid replacement buckle costs almost as much as a spool of filament, thank god I found this

people normally dont hang from their backpacks...
those clips are just meant to be snug.

I still think going with a standard screw or existing metal pin would be better. Think about backpacking with the right pack 30lbs could realistically be on the hips. Any bouncing, slipping etc would really load that main buckle. I’ve worked in a camp department before and the best buckles have metal or frn(glass filled nylon) for that structure.

Bro had a perfecting working buckle, cut it off just so he can attach a weaker orange one.
      Wasteful as f***….and dumb😂
