Started playing Runescape nearly 20 years ago and never even got close to a 99 back then. Only got back into the game like 2,5 years ago. For some reason really got into Player Owned Farms then, which led to Farming being my first 99. Now I'm only 5 skills away from getting everything to 99!

Necromancy belongs here for sure. It's not insanely fast but it's accessible, afk, and mega cheap. It was literally created to be a new or returning player's access point to pvm, so it wants to zoom you to 99 or 120 with decent gear to get you learning boss mechanics before you have the gear and unlocks to do the higher dps but higher requirement combat styles.
I'm shocked farming didn't get a mention here. Yes, you can't really grind it out in one sitting, but you can train it while the game is closed! The POF allowed me to get 200M without any real effort.
and if you wanted to put a lil more effort you can use the beans from pof to buy growth potions and get 10-20m xp an hour during dxp but that’s not really accessible to everyone if you don’t already have beans/high farming
@@ProfessionalGasLighting sell adol animals/dinos, get beans, buy as many fruit tree growth potions as you can (prob atleast 50-100) wait til dxp, plant your highest fruit tree (could be boosted), use growth potion, repeat til none left 120 farming quick not counting the time it takes to get beans
I'm dead me too. I botted it from willows in f2p. Literally would leave my family computer on overnight. Before jagex gave af. Ironically it would probably be faster and easier now over a decade later actually playing instead
It's always a triangle - do you value time, cost or activity? If you have a ton of money and can buy your way to one, it'll be rapid but usually quite active. If you have all the time but no money to spend on it - you can grind your way to a 99 in something that's more AFK. If you want to play very actively, say manual combat, you can get that quickly but it can be expensive to do so.
My first 99 was attack in RS3. In OSRS my highest skill...is attack. There's some nostalgia about the melee style that just takes me back lol. I've been playing since 05.
My first 99 was slayer because I thought it would be cool to have that cape un-trimmed. Bought like 10 capes so I'd have them. Thankfully I keepsake'd one of them...did not know they would all transform after I got my 2nd 99 lol.
It blows my mind to think people don't see it as an achievement. I've been playing off and on for YEARS as a casual player (I'd estimate 4-5?). I'm 2185 skill, 119 combat level, ~120 quest points, and JUST earned my first two 99s from the last double exp weekend (Herblore and Smithing). It took me using damn near all of my 48 hours of bonus time just to get across the finish line for both (they were ~85 prior to the start of double exp), and it was the most I'd played within a 1-2 week span in the last 4 years for sure. I felt exhausted by the end of it but immensely happy at finally accomplishing something I never could when I was playing on my first account as a 9 year old kid. I truly think the only people who don't see 99s as achievements are those who either need to step outside a bit more and not play the same game hours on end every day, or those who have been lucky enough to play this game for a decade plus and therefore are lightyears ahead of the average casual player.
same! I never had the discipline as a kid to do anything but minor quests, small f2p money runs (lobbies pre-note circa 2010) and make friends wandering around. I think i logged back in for real 4 years ago. I was a lvl 73, highest stat was 68 fishing lmao. currently running down 90s in my top 8 crafting skills
I’m surprised mining wasn’t mentioned at all. It’s the only 99 I have (but that’s basically only because seren stones let me train it nearly efficiently while waiting tables at work)
my first 99 was Prayer. I did a lot of bones at gilded altars in a friend's player owned house, but once i unlocked it I switched to clensing in the Hefin district of Prifddinas
My first 99 was probably around 2011 and it was 99 prayer ironically. I had the money and the construction level to use my own gilded alter and spent half a Halloween masks worth of money on dbones and ground out 99 prayer. I'm probably one of the first players to have a un trimmed 99 prayer cape. I did it because I needed 95 prayer and at that point why not go the distance. No regrets. Next was 99 construction with the rest of that money from the hween mask.
My first 99 was Agility, I'm probably one of the rare few that actually enjoyed doing laps. I got it shortly after the Advanced Gnome and Barbarian courses came out, since there was something new to work towards outside of the Cave Goblin course.
My first 99 was Constitution. Got a huge boost in that skill when I converted all my Soul Wars zeal into xp. Got the actual 99 in 2018 while on an Abyssal Demons slayer task.
99 Prayer, I put every single quest reward lamp into the skill as well as any other lamp and star from the moment I started playing. Then finished up the skill with cleansing stones in priff during a dxp once I got there.
@protoxx dankjewel 🙂Tip! Use Fire lighters (the shrooms on a stick) while firemaking to collect automatically the Fire Spirit rewards. Meaning you gain a slim chance on making money while training FM.
My first 99 was fishing. Literally just played fish flingers minigame on repeat, gives insane amount of xp. Not good for afk that way, but you can take the slower route of normal fishing to afk. Virtually no cost and you get cooking mats
pretty sure dungeoneering was my first 99 because that's the most fun I can have playing this game. and, for a player with no other 99s, the trickle of xp you get in other skills while doing it ain't too shabby.
I never understand people who enjoy dungeoneering. Its one of my last 99s to go sat at 93 with more than enough bonus xp in it to reach 99 but I still leave it lol.
My first 99 was smithing, cos u can can buy high xp items then upgrade them to +5, and using powerburst potions gained me like 10k xp in seconds. Then mining but that was harder. I liked smithing and mining because it was useful and very profitable to mine ore and smith it, so losing ur armour wasn't as big of a deal than not having a skill that could afford u those items or produce them yourself.

Thieve was my first 200mil back in the day. Pyramid plunder was the best and only true way to go back then. Never wanted to go back but that scepter of the gods came out so im back grinding for it to speed up clues
My first 99 was Smithing since it's my favorite skill by concept (but in practicality, making your own armour is a crapshoot and not generally worth it [I did make my own MW armor though]) and then I ended up forgetting to keepsake the cape due to not having a lot of gold to waste on bonds for keepsake keys and got 99 Mining during an event and lost my untrimmed cape XD
Would it still be possible to get the Max Cape with all skills at 99 when they raise the cap to 110? I dont really want to grind hard again because im so close to getting the cape

My first 99 was dungeoneering. I quit RS3 for quite a few years, but occasionally I'd log back on to do a dungeoneering floor in f2p. There's just something very satisfying about stripping a dungeon of every resource, getting even that last experience point. When I got membership and finally came back for real, 99 dunge was the first thing I grinded out.
First 99 was Dungeoneering!! Saved the untrimmed as a really nice keepsake c: I have a number of 99's past that, but I still sit on 98's in Attack and Strength... Yeah, I'm not going to push those two intentionally 😂
Agility was my first 99 back when Barbarian Advanced was the best course and Silverhawks didn't exist... told myself if I could suffer through that I could get any 99 :')
I'd argue based on only needing 3 of the 4 requirements, dungeoneering is the easiest 99/120. There are no quest requirements to get started with DG, it is insanely afk if you just leech (you just end floors every 5-10 minutes with very rarely a group puzzle you need to do) and extremely quick with XP rates of over 10m an hr. It will cost a lot but according to the definition used that's okay.
Just got 200m Farming last month and now I’m taking a break lol. Decided to hope back on old school for a change of pace. I’m almost 99 in all skills so I just need to take a break from the grind.
first 99 was strength years ago, i was hoping it would make me very strong XD i unfortunately didnt keep my untrimmed cape.... wish you could buy them back
I Just got fire making. it's so profitable and cheap to buy logs but I got 94 woodcutting saved a bit for the rest of my fletching level which is 80. I think that would count as an easy skill too. Or at least it was for me.
I’m currently 55 whatever the new skill is called. I haven’t even done intro and don’t know the name of it. I’m just back after 2 years of no playing, these lamps are insane!
My first 99 was Woodcutting as it was a childhood memory / achievement of me that I wanted to relive. My first 120 was Herblore. Pain in the a** but I love the cape. I dislike combat so yeah... the benefits aren't really special to me.
I think thieving is still the easiest 99 for all accounts. Prayer is good for normal accounts, but without a GE, Ironman relies on thieving, high alch drops, or boss drops. You should do "the hardest skill to 99". Maybe also "worst/best to train" as well. I find Summoning and Herblore to be absolutely awful as an ironman.
Thieving is the easiest one to get 99, 120 or even 200m. The problem is getting to 64 for starting to safecrack. Probably took me more time from 1 to 64 than from 64 to 200m.
"while achieving level 99 in runescape 3 has become significantly easier due to numerous qol updates, faster training methods and a plethora of xp increasing items and events..." takes reading between the lines to a whole new level if you just notice the background the entire time...
I'm probably just too oldschool because I still can't ever see myself getting a 99 in mere hours like a lot of you guys do. It's just so incredibly boring and I lose interest -- even bossing I can't do for much more than an hour or two. I find my time on runescape so much more enjoyable when I am constantly switching between different things to reach requirements for quests and minor unlocks. I feel that overall I can properly appreciate a large variety of content without feeling immediately disappointed by the reward because 99 isn't really my goal on an account until I am running out of things to do for progression.
I had to grind my ass off on gorilas with dharocks for combat 99s next to a prayer altar after monkey madness quest :D Only OG players will remember this method :D :D (If you are late for 1 second to recharge prayer you insta died with 1hp)
99 Bench sitting for sure! Got that in 5 mins, can't beat that!

Nah, I got it in 5 minutes too.

my first 99 was runecrafting! majority of the xp is AFKing at runespan and finishing it off at souls.
didn't expect to see a new video when I opened youtube 🔥
What about agility? Throw on the boots and do anything else while it skills.
I felt like dart fletching made 99 easy peasy
Yeah if you got 5b to burn
first 99 was strength years ago, i was hoping it would make me very strong XD i unfortunately didnt keep my untrimmed cape.... wish you could buy them back
Firemaking was my first 99 back in 2012
I Just got fire making. it's so profitable and cheap to buy logs but I got 94 woodcutting saved a bit for the rest of my fletching level which is 80. I think that would count as an easy skill too. Or at least it was for me.
Everything is easy to get 99 now. 120 is the new 99
The skills you enjoy :)
Got 99 thieving back in like 2015 at the thieves guild blackjacking
I’m currently 55 whatever the new skill is called. I haven’t even done intro and don’t know the name of it. I’m just back after 2 years of no playing, these lamps are insane!
My first 99 was Woodcutting as it was a childhood memory / achievement of me that I wanted to relive.
My first 120 was Herblore. Pain in the a** but I love the cape. I dislike combat so yeah... the benefits aren't really special to me.
Firemaking is better doing the dino stuff, you can afk for a minute and half just lightning shell shard
My first 99 was mining, surprised it didnt make it here.
How about the easiest 110's with 99 meta tho?
For firemaking 6:00 I recommend sharp shell shards after lvl 87 over logs since they are afk 3 mins at a time
True but get the skill cape from getting 99 should get a years cape too. Shouldn't use lamps only stars.
Thieving was my first 99 on a iron
First 99.was.ranged. i was obsessed with getting pack yack so I made water fiends my mortal enemy.
How did not get a mention as the easiest 99?
Smithing Doing Gauntlets / Boots to burial is quite AFK and not bad EXP
Got my tea ready!
I should get my last 3 99s today or tomorrow being ranged strength and attack
First 99 for me was Firemaking before Woodcutting
First 99.. mining.
Loved it cause it was afk-abke with prifdinnas, my next was crafting!
It’s 62 to start safe cracking
My first 99 was hp, and my alt's first 99 was slayer. I have both capes keepsaked.
My first 99 was wc back in does days when it was old school rs 2003-2004
99 herblore and necro same day, during last dxp event
My first 99 was agility mostly thanks to the tuska world event
I had to grind my ass off on gorilas with dharocks for combat 99s next to a prayer altar after monkey madness quest :D Only OG players will remember this method :D :D (If you are late for 1 second to recharge prayer you insta died with 1hp)
99 sailing only took a few minutes
99 div was my first because of money chasing for bonds afk/high income
What would your ironman easiest be?
When is the beach ? 97 dung im ready for 99
First 99 was STR .. like 17 years ago
