Im 90 days into my Meth recovery and appreciate finding this recorded meeting. I call the urge to use my 'trojan' and it feels like it's on steroids right now. Ive been told by my therapists that this is a high risk time for anyone in recovery and I was looking for reinforcement of what to expect and to just keep going so thank-you.

The mental struggle is the hardest part. It's one day at a time, but it will be a thing if the past. If it continues to haunt you, do try a pain clinic and get on methadone or suboxone. Idc what anyone says, suboxone does help/save meth addicts life just as much as opioid users.

Thank you for your content Dr B ! I was prescribed Ritalin and adderall as a child and young adult . I became highly addicted to adderall as a adult and I entered myself into treatment . I have now been sober over a year and I get far more done with out the miss use of that drug . It robbed my of my personality I was depressed and I don’t ever want to live like that again . The gentleman giving the Interview mentioned a connection with childhood trauma or having an area that made it hard to focus and when I think back to being a child by now as an adult know that I was misdiagnosed with adhd and had a Traumatic brain injury from being struck by a truck at age 8. There was little to no knowledge of brain injury at that time ! Impulsive , hard time concentrating trouble following through with things fatigue all the same things as ADHD and my advocate in the brain injury Association and myself now know that it was brain injury not ADHD. Thank you for your work I hope that one day you have a talk show and I see it going big is Dr. Phil I thought loud I really do mean that though thank you for all you do!

God I hated adderall withdrawal. Nightmares, groggy mornings, depression, anxiety you name it. I quit about 10 yrs ago after about 13yrs of use. I’ve never been so damn depressed in my life. I feel for you 😢

After 3 yrs to almost the day i just quit, just done. I cried and begged and pleaded for two years to quit, and I couldn’t in one day just like that done. I started taking welbutrin and celexa, because I knew my dopamine and serotonin receptors would be shot welbutrin for the dopamine and celexa for the serotonin, I didn’t really have any cravings. I was just so happy to be free of that hell.

Last year i weaned myself off meth. I knew i had to quit so i started with stopping the needle. I didn't shoot up often, usually when my bf was mean to me. I moved out, got into outpatient and started a lawn care business. I found something i loved more than meth and that's what did it for me. I was sober for 2 weeks and my friend fhat i was living with kicked me out cuz he got a gf. I lost my abolity to walk and was living in a hotel for 2 months and of course using cuz that's how i know to deal with life. I had to go back to my ex's amd am still here, not walking, not working over a year later. I dont want to keep using but i don't know how to stop. I dont use much but I'm suicidal without it because what is the point of living if i can't even take care of myself.
Inpatient doesnt work for me. I got kicked out of harm reduction housing for using and my ex wants me gone yesterday.
I hope someone from this video sees this and can help me.

Wow this was not even my last wonder what the comment would be thought. I did not expect anyone to offer help with their own home. It was something that I was thinking if I was in a better situation to do so cuz I am that type who wants to help save the whole world but never in a million years did I believe I would witness what I just read. To offer a piece of your home to someone like us, you never hear that because anyone who has never used meth will immediately be afraid to allow ppl like us in their house, car, or bedroom cuz we get labeled as liars and thieves immediately. idk about anyone else but I have never used anyone, stole anything from anyone, never robbed anyone, never did any sexual favors for anyone, never sold my belongings or even borrowed money from anyone to chase any addiction. I have always support my own horrible decisions and bad ideas and always make sure to get my kids and I what we need before buying any drugs and I been using on and off for about 6years now so any who thinks a drug addict can't be responsible is on crack and can bite me 😂 You are truly a beautiful hearted person who ever you are. I hope if this person didn't find you for help that they found someone who was able to help. God bless you even though I am not a religious person but just incase you are.

I am a chronic meth user for over 35yrs. I'm 53 years old. I have been to prison for manufacturing and dealing. None the less exept from punitive reasons,I have never wanted to quit. So in 35 yrs,I may have 5 of those that I wasn't in heavy addiction. I have several concerns and questions. Also in the last couple years I have become addicted to heroin,so I'm currently in treatment at methadone clinic. I just this week have been placed on house arrest,so I'm cold Turkey trying to stop meth use. It's not going well, I'm almost certainly gonna end up back in prison over this. Which means a terrible withdrawal from all of it in a cell. Trust me,not an ideal location for this. I really wanna know wat damage I have done to myself over last 3 decades of my addiction. How can I get evaluated, for lack of better words? I'm concerned about my heart,I'm showing serious signs of heart failure. Among other symptoms. I want to know wat damage I have done to my mental and emotional status. How can I help with your type of studies, and how can I get help with myself?

These questions should be asked before starting these life ruining, devastating drugs. My best friend died of meth overdose last year. I had no idea he was on drugs, I thought he was developing schizophrenia. If only he told me, I would do everything help him to quit. He lost his job, couldn’t pay his bills, was unable to sleep and eat, horrible drug. Please run away from any drugs, don’t play with the devil.

I hope you're doing well friend, and I hope this helps.
There is no "cure". There are treatment programs that are great. The issue I see w your comment was the "I have never had the desire to quit".
That's the problem. It's also the drugs.
I'm going to go out on a limb, and say, you e probably struggled a lot with self esteem, maybe just being lost in general for a long time, so meth has become your identity. But, you did NOT choose to live this life to be a slave to any substance. It was a choice that turned into an addiction because of how it made you feel.
You're lacking something else in life, and meth is filling that void dt a lack of self love.
Face your demons head on. You are NOT worthless, and just need new coping mechanisms.
If you're still here, it's because you still have work to be done. Your life mission is not fulfilled.
I've heard people say if you're still using after 40, you're a lifer. You'll never get off of it. But, that's a choice. Maybe you are that light for people who believe that and can't get off of it because they think they're a lost cause. You can still be an inspiration w your story.
Focus on that, write a book, of your struggles, and recover, help someone else with all the pain you've suffered. That's a start ❤

I gave my 57 year old friend on her request , a home drug test, and she tested positive not only for meth/ amphetamines but also MDMA. She hasn't done any of that so why is she testing positive? She can eat and sleep daily on it , but the stuff back in the day kept me from both for days. This stuff is weak. Yet she keeps at it. She doesnt like it at all. But wants to stop. Please advise. You’re sure are CORRECT about that. It’s WEAK! Yet here this guy is & a whole bunch of others, spewing out a whollllle FALSE NARRATIVE, telling the world it’s “stronger” “more potent & “can kill you!”
Saying that meth “withdrawals” need to be under the supervision of a DOCTOR…. (tf?)
When I went to a detox center my horrible alcohol withdrawals I was battling for years about 8 years ago, I’m telling you. Allllll that would happen to the people in there that were coming down off meth…. was THIS:
      Sleep….
      (rooms smell like farts)
      (hours later)
      Still Asleep
(*fart sounds) (the ‘Silent but deadly kind’) (room still smelling like farts)
      More Sleep
      (Farts, stinky, snoring)
      Get Up To Eat
(Scarf food down. Lots of it & fast. Drank lots of Kool-Aid)
      Went back to rooms
      SLEEP
(LOTS of fart sounds) (STINKY rooms)👃🏼
      (hours later)
      More Sleep
…… uhh THAT ABOUT ALL FOLKS.
*NOTE: YOU’RE BEING LIED TO. THEY’RE PUMPING A NEW NARRATIVE OUT TO THE PUBLIC CLAIMING YOU CAN DIE FROM SMOKING METH.
(This started when Covid did. As of now, it works out perfect for them to blame deaths on “meth” - that way, people won’t realize the vaccines did nothing but get a bunch or people rich, it also deters from the fact the government isn’t doing anything to curb the fentanyl crisis.

Very important to cut all ties to anyone you used to do the drug with don’t even talk to them don’t be friends with them on social media don’t have their phone number or nothing it’s next to impossible to get clean if you stay in touch with those people

I quit smoking cigarettes 5 years ago and I still have cravings. I quit coke in 2009 and still have cravings. Cravings never go away. You just learn how to cope with life with other "things" as your motivation. Humans have natural addictive personalities. That's why it angers me when people make fun of or dismiss drug users as if they are so terrible. Food, gambling, driving your car fast video gaming, sex.. If it releases dopamine, it makes you feel good and then it can become addictive...
To master addiction you just have to figure out how to be happy again in life, and have rational thinking. I highly recommend behavioral and cognitive therapy to anybody who's trying to overcome an addiction. At least a year! But you're going to have to sit through a lot of uncomfortable realizations. And then being educated about your anatomy, spirituality and avoiding superficial problems are also going to be something that has to change. Addiction is holistic in a way that it affects every aspect of your life. In RDAP they give you tools to relearn how to think. There's a wheel in the workbooks and you have to constantly keep the balance within your wheel. If one of your spokes breaks and sets you off balance, that will lead potentially to a path of relapse. Recovery takes a long time and honestly that's why they say it never ends because you're always going to be in recovery...you just get better at it the more you stay away from the drugs and find other ways to keep yourself occupied.

Hi thank you for your video. Do you have any suggestions on how to get off of Suboxone ? My son has been taking it for a lot of years, and really wants to stop, but the withdrawals have been too sever. He’s down to less than a quarter of a pill every other day, but can’t completely stop. If you have any suggestions on how he can completely get off of it, that would be great ! Thank you !

I'm a 63 yr old and in my case it has taken me longer to get off suboxone than anything I've ever been on. It is hard cause those who subscribe it make money from funded programs so they really don't help much. I've done it on my own by dropping the dose slowly. And I do mean slowly. Still feel like crap. But I'm going to do it this time. Hope it works for your kid. My sons on it too and trying the slow way too. Very nasty stuff if you ask me now.❤

It’s been hard to get out of bed lately. Yesterday I just treated it as if I am sick so I just stayed in bed. Today I am trying to do something different but am dragging.
Can you recommend a morning routine?
I tend to either expect too much out of myself or don’t try at all. Extremes.
I found the DBL app, I believe it could be helpful but am overwhelmed by trying to input what I need to do. Depression has clouded my decision making abilities.
I am now 83 days clean but called my brother this weekend to give up on quitting. He won’t let me, so I’m not starting over again yet not happy about it. (To be honest)

I've been a methuser for a solid 6 years chronic use every day 3 times A-day. When the drug 1st sank its claws into my life before these 6 years I was probably using for about 2 years and then decided OK things are getting out of hand it's time to quit.. And this is the truth of the matter..I found out 180 Adderall 30 mg instant release. I took 3 ah day for 30 days, then 2 ah day for 30 days, then 1 a day for 30 days, then started taking a nutropic called optimind for 30 days and then only when I felt it was needed....and I was off meth....felt completely healed...but my life took a turn for the bad and I ended up using again....that is what started the 6 year streak....and since then those Adderall are no were to be found to help me back on the sober track :/

If someone is trying to kick a 5 month long almost daily meth habbit, what are some ideas or advice on best ways to go through this at home? I live in a rural area where addiction is very stigmatized and not accepted or understood at all. I have no help. Trying to do this on my own. I am a former opiate addict who is now on subs. Even my sub dr. Is 2 hr drive away and is cash only... And thats ONLY what they are there for.. I went to them for help with this problem and asking about rehab.
