Great review! You're right, this thing is really good for what it is. A short anecdote: A few weeks ago a friend bought one and brought it to work. His coworkers were oblivious to retro handhelds and thought it was from Sony. Now the whole office has these things because he gave a pitch and a demonstration for the Smart Pro as if he had a stake in TrimUI's company. xD
Ohwww in the world of AI youtubers, sponsored video’s, fake voices and so on… you are a delight to watch. Good voice, straight up reviewer, thats what you are! I like this a lot, please stay this humble and dont follow the masses!
I'm so glad you mentioned analog stick calibration early on. It makes an enormous difference. I first thought my unit was defective until I did that. I'm in love with my Trimui Smart Pro -- did you know that there are PSP hacks that enable the use of a second analog stick? Speaking of PSP, if you're on Crossmix OS you can press the top face button when selecting a game which will let you select different versions/configs of PSP and DC emulators. OpenGL and Vulkan performance mode makes a big difference in the PSP titles -- I have God of War chains of Olympus running at a smooth 30fps at 2x with occasional dips. Amazing value for the $60 shipped I paid.
Good review, I've had mine for a few months and I love it. As a fellow UA-camr I'm thinking of starting to review these devices since I have 3 of them, new sub here also!
it's true Dreamcast emulation is spotty but 60-70% of the games are perfectly playable. I've tested well over 300 PSP games and only had issues with 10 of them (with crossmix PSP) In PPSSPP; tryout the settings in the following order, play around and see what works best: -Skip buffer effects -Hardware Transform -Auto frameskip with everything dialed in I can play most games at 3x resolution which looks absolutely beautiful on it's 720p screen. A reviewer on youtube tested the TrimUI against Anbernic's devices (and 1 other brand) in the same price range and TrimUI won for best PSP emulation performance (Anbernic's analog snaps to cardinal directions and not true 360 degree analog .. ewww). I bought my TrimUI last May and it has grown on me over time and still has potential to improve with software updates. I may be sending these out as Christmas gifts this year! Sorry for all fact slamming I just wanted to defend my favorite hand held :P Great video man!
anbernic DID release and tease probably a new device, during this video lol.... RGcubee XX ffs is on my want list as well as the Arc XX as well as a gkd bubble black!! i know i have a problem, i could go all out and buy an odin or retroid pro but it is about finding something cheap and affordable and seeing it punch above its weight... im just hoping they dont ever release a handheld ever again!!!
The GKD bubble and the Arcxx look awful to me. Just ugly devices. They seem to have the same power/chipset as the current “XX” devices too. I guess they are just trying to cover all form factors now!
Great honest review. No BS / sponsorship, just a proper wholesome review. love it and sub'd
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback!
Earned another sub. Great video, honest pros and cons, great content, quality production. Keep going. You are gonna blow up, I feel it!
Thanks for the quick, honest breakdown. Portmaster on the wide screen is the main reason why I'd consider this one!
Postmaster is a game changer on this handheld! So many great games to play.

That’s a wild story! I’ve definitely influenced a few friends to buy a retro Hand held!

Thanks for the tip! I’m still tweaking and building my library (which half the fun!) Tips like this one is what I needed!

Thanks for the sub I’ll do the same! I say go for it man! Make that review of whatever device you have!
Does this have all of the turbografx 16 games on it? Esit: great video, btw. Thank you.
You can definitely play turbografx 16 games. But I ordered the one that didn’t come with a memory card. Not sure if the original has them.
Great review. Have you tried Shovel Knight on this?
I didn't see it in portmaster but there is a PSP homebrew version floating around
I have yet to add any postmaster games that are not from the ready to install list. I’m sure it plays great though!
Great video dude, got a sub from me! Keep em coming! Hi from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you I really appreciate you checking me out!

Great video man!
Thank you for the tips! It did improve my gameplay on PSP.
100% going to buy this
The more I play with it, the better it gets. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!

How did you managed to play Naruto game on your unit?
Does it not work for you?
I don't know how to get it to work
Which Dreamcast and PSP games didn't play so well that you tried on the Trimui?
Metal Gear Peace Walker
Yeah I was going to say Metal Gear as well.
Crossmix OS makes it better. Just spend more and get the Retroid 5 of you want Dreamcast and PSP at it's full glory
I was looking at that RP5. Looks sexy. May good one if my $$$ is looking right. Thanks for the feedback!
