I prefer consoles. They’re cheaper for something i only need a pc for. I don’t need to worry about viruses, driver updates, upgrading, all that junk with a console.
Agreed 👍
I don't understand the point of a console if I can just get a mini PC and hook it up to my TV, using it as a console. It's a way better experience.
Lmao Console Chud
I have a weird question, do you think its good as a grip for recording videos with your phone?
I actually used it for that once! It worked well for holding the phone horizontally while recording. I wouldn’t buy it solely for that reason though….
@@Eldubble yea of course haha, but I do want the backbone and I also need a grip for recording purposes. thanks!
The PC also has so much more games which is the main reason.
Although that is true, most of them are games I don’t actually want to play. 😂
@@Eldubble I guess if your more into the main big games coming out but you got all the indie games and like medium sized developer games on PC.
Most games automatically select the best settings when you start them for the first time. Also you're right, console is easier. But there is no way I'm spending that kind of money on a machine that has one purpose. For me, the fact that I can do homework on my pc, or join a zoom call, or anything else I want makes it worth it. Still, if you like console, more power to you. Different people like different things and that's A-OK!
I do like that I can be more productive on a PC as well as game. I have the luxury of owning so I don’t really have to make a choice!
With PC gaming, the PC itself is part of the hobby. That’s not for me at this point, I’m with you.
Yeah you definitely have to be into the whole tinkering and upgrading thing.
@@Eldubble Some people actually also have fun and feel proud that they did their own research learned to finance their budget put the whole thing together and then game on it while also be more flexible for other stuff than gaming, but if you are a person who just wants to get on and game console is great but you have to buy each game which cost you everytime like 50 bucks average but you can crack games on the pcc ❤
Good video 🎉 i prefer to play on console more becasue i have the xbox connected to a big tv and my pc to a smaller monitor... Literally probably my only reason lol
I’ve thought about permanently moving my consoles to the big tv in my living room. Just haven’t got the right set up yet.
My advice is to learn how to build a pc it will save you so much money then buying pre builts in one year you can upgrade your pc with a gpu and power supply cheaper then buying a $500 console then you can upgrade your cpu/ram/mobo a few years later. There are plenty of videos on how to build pcs out if i can do it anyone can and im not the brightest tool in the shed.
Good content. I go with PC mostly because of the library of games. I don't have to worry about backwards compatibility or whether Nintendo is going to kill their digital library. I also get access to a lot of really good indie games which are starting to outpace some AAA games in quality and quantity. But it always comes down to what your comfortable playing, its a game enjoy it.
Crossmix OS makes it better. Just spend more and get the Retroid 5 of you want Dreamcast and PSP at it's full glory
I was looking at that RP5. Looks sexy. May good one if my $$$ is looking right. Thanks for the feedback!
Wow american hat man gave me permission to do what I want, now I can live my life
No problem! I’m glad I could help you free your mind.
I like that Jersey ⚡️ ⚡️
Bolt Gang ⚡️⚡️⚡️
I’m also a console guy! And everyone know Game Pass is better than PlayStation plus!
Nice! And Game Pass is pretty good. Even with the pricing changes.
No. I'm not going to "get used to it" actually. X-Box can stop being stupid make controllers like everyone else does.
By the way, you do not need to download the Backbone app to use the device.
How did you managed to play Naruto game on your unit?
Does it not work for you?
I don't know how to get it to work
Does this have all of the turbografx 16 games on it? Esit: great video, btw. Thank you.
You can definitely play turbografx 16 games. But I ordered the one that didn’t come with a memory card. Not sure if the original has them.
anbernic DID release and tease probably a new device, during this video lol.... RGcubee XX ffs is on my want list as well as the Arc XX as well as a gkd bubble black!! i know i have a problem, i could go all out and buy an odin or retroid pro but it is about finding something cheap and affordable and seeing it punch above its weight... im just hoping they dont ever release a handheld ever again!!!
The GKD bubble and the Arcxx look awful to me. Just ugly devices. They seem to have the same power/chipset as the current “XX” devices too. I guess they are just trying to cover all form factors now!
Have you given it away yet?
No one ever said anything or reached out in the comments so I just returned it. 😂 🤷🏽♂️
I guess I was too late😭
100% going to buy this
The more I play with it, the better it gets. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
Ohwww in the world of AI youtubers, sponsored video’s, fake voices and so on… you are a delight to watch. Good voice, straight up reviewer, thats what you are! I like this a lot, please stay this humble and dont follow the masses!
Thank you for the kind words!
Good review, I've had mine for a few months and I love it. As a fellow UA-camr I'm thinking of starting to review these devices since I have 3 of them, new sub here also!
Thanks for the sub I’ll do the same! I say go for it man! Make that review of whatever device you have!
Thanks for the quick, honest breakdown. Portmaster on the wide screen is the main reason why I'd consider this one!
Postmaster is a game changer on this handheld! So many great games to play.
The thing is, right now, if you want perfect DC/PSP/N64 you have to buy an Android device minimum. Linux devices are awesome for us non tinkerers because thry can be bought almost fully set up so we dont have to mess with too much... .... but, none of those devices are powerful enough for "perfect" emulation veyond PS1/GBA. You have to get an Android headache device where you have to tinker with everything and set everything up yourself.
Great review! You're right, this thing is really good for what it is. A short anecdote: A few weeks ago a friend bought one and brought it to work. His coworkers were oblivious to retro handhelds and thought it was from Sony. Now the whole office has these things because he gave a pitch and a demonstration for the Smart Pro as if he had a stake in TrimUI's company. xD
That’s a wild story! I’ve definitely influenced a few friends to buy a retro Hand held!
it's true Dreamcast emulation is spotty but 60-70% of the games are perfectly playable. I've tested well over 300 PSP games and only had issues with 10 of them (with crossmix PSP) In PPSSPP; tryout the settings in the following order, play around and see what works best: -Skip buffer effects -Hardware Transform -Auto frameskip with everything dialed in I can play most games at 3x resolution which looks absolutely beautiful on it's 720p screen. A reviewer on youtube tested the TrimUI against Anbernic's devices (and 1 other brand) in the same price range and TrimUI won for best PSP emulation performance (Anbernic's analog snaps to cardinal directions and not true 360 degree analog .. ewww). I bought my TrimUI last May and it has grown on me over time and still has potential to improve with software updates. I may be sending these out as Christmas gifts this year! Sorry for all fact slamming I just wanted to defend my favorite hand held :P Great video man!
Thank you for the tips! It did improve my gameplay on PSP.
Great review. Have you tried Shovel Knight on this?
I didn't see it in portmaster but there is a PSP homebrew version floating around
I have yet to add any postmaster games that are not from the ready to install list. I’m sure it plays great though!
Which Dreamcast and PSP games didn't play so well that you tried on the Trimui?
Metal Gear Peace Walker
Yeah I was going to say Metal Gear as well.
Great video dude, got a sub from me! Keep em coming! Hi from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you I really appreciate you checking me out!
My boi said “out an about in the living room” spoken like a true gamer 😂❤

@@Eldubble 😂😂
keep it up dude, ya got a nice voice, and well matched background volume for it^.^
Thank you!
Great honest review. No BS / sponsorship, just a proper wholesome review. love it and sub'd
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback!
Earned another sub. Great video, honest pros and cons, great content, quality production. Keep going. You are gonna blow up, I feel it!
I'm so glad you mentioned analog stick calibration early on. It makes an enormous difference. I first thought my unit was defective until I did that. I'm in love with my Trimui Smart Pro -- did you know that there are PSP hacks that enable the use of a second analog stick? Speaking of PSP, if you're on Crossmix OS you can press the top face button when selecting a game which will let you select different versions/configs of PSP and DC emulators. OpenGL and Vulkan performance mode makes a big difference in the PSP titles -- I have God of War chains of Olympus running at a smooth 30fps at 2x with occasional dips. Amazing value for the $60 shipped I paid.
Thanks for the tip! I’m still tweaking and building my library (which half the fun!) Tips like this one is what I needed!
Got one used for $30 on eBay and still don’t use it 😭
I actually wound up returning mine to Amazon. I didn’t really use it much. Where there any games you wanted to play on your phone?
I wasn’t gonna buy it anyway! 😂
Just in case you needed something to reinforce your decision, I’m here for you! 😆
Imma just get me a slim lol
Yeah if you don't already have a PS5, buying a slim would make more financial sense.
This doesn't seem worth it for anyone. If you already have a PS5 I would just save my money and buy more games. If I were a late adopter I think I would go with the older version and save the money for more games or the next generation of consoles. I'm not sure who their target is for this console.
The target must be for people with $$$ to blow! They’re crazy for trying to sell this in the current economy. Some people will buy it though I’m sure.
1st once again! Anyway, I’m on the fence about this one. I think I need to see some new games and not just enhanced versions of old games.
Whatever they put out will have to still be compatible with the original PS5. I doubt I’ll miss much. But we’ll see!
you got a awesome beard 🙂🙂🙂✊✊✊
Thank you my friend!
i might have to get one but the lighting one version
The lightning versions can be found cheap. At the lower price it’s absolutely worth it.
Great video. Thinking of picking one or these up however i am a retro handheld novice. How easy is it to put your own library of games and garlic os on a branded sd card ? Also you appear to have big hands like myself. How comfortable is this to hold for long sessions please ?
I would replace the card that comes with it as soon as possible and buy a name brand one. The included card is junk and will fail/malfunction. It’s very easy and there are a few good step by tutorials on UA-cam. I suggest retrogamingcorps because he has both videos and a text/picture based tutorial on his website. I do have large hands and have experienced no discomfort while playing. Good luck and I hope you have a blast with it!
Good stuff as always. Really enjoying the content.
Thanks for watching as usual! I appreciate the support!
My boy Eldubble back with another timely one. Have you tried any FPS type games on it? And is the portal really that much better? Seems like it would be the same.
I don’t really play fps game normally but I’m sure they would work well. And YES it is a big difference between portal and playing on phone/backbone. The experience on the portal is far superior.
dude said he had kids and couldn't play the gba when it came out. You look like you should have been born when the console came out. Aint no way, ain't no way you are 45 years old. cant convince me. i was born in the early 2000's and you look like you could be my friend, ain't no way you are old enough to be my dad. i don't know why none of the other comments are talking about this. maybe my eyes are deceiving me and I'm doing too much.
Thanks! I have adult children and their friends always think I’m a cousin or young uncle!😂
Happy Belated Birthday! Thanks for the review, very well detailed. I actually bought the Mystery box, so I'm hoping to get the keyboard through that lol
Man I missed the mystery box too! That was right in my birthday window. Post back and let me know ow what you got!
@@Eldubble bummer you missed out on the mystery box. Well today I finally got all the items. a total of 6 items. Wasn't surprised it was going to be the 3 small items lol. Then a Black Ultimate C Wired controller, Purple Ultimate Controller, and finally the Genshin Impact wireless controller. Bummed no keyboard or gold controller, heck even the mini controller would have been cool lol
That's a lot of controllers! The Genshin one is cool though. Still not too bad for the price you paid. Congrats!
Very nice Vid, Keep up the work dude!
Thanks for the encouragement! And also thanks for watching. I’ll keep’em coming!
good vid
Thank you!
I bought the keyboard, it is amazing for the price! And I bought a cable extender for the big buttons so I can have them on the floor and use them as foot switches. perfect for push to talk and to pause videoes. I think I am going to buy the numpad (It has a built in calculator and I need it for some creative software like unreal and blender).
You’re the 2nd person to say something about using the big buttons for foot pads. And it never even crossed my mind to do so. May have to look into that. I am thinking about the number pad too.
This is funny. I bought myself this exact combo for my birthday as well. Already had the arcade stick so it seemed like a good fit for my desk.
I didn’t even noticed they may an arcade stick! It looks good and is modable too! I can swap out the parts for some proper Sanwa buttons and stick.
