I bought mine a few weeks ago as my very first stand to do headshots and couples for my church, glad to see I made an excellent choice as I haven't used it yet for the event. Thanks for the info Booray

Hi Booray. I am with you regarding location shoots. One trip in & one trip out. I can literally remember unloading my entire vehicle of photo equipment for school assignments. Multiple trips to do so. I do NOT miss those days. Smarter, & lighter is always the way to go!😊

Thanks for the review Booray! (I finally cut the velcro tabs out to prevent assistants from trying to use them - aaaaah! much better!)

LOL... yes. I never use them. Just throw everything in the bag.

I have a set of pop-up backgrounds for headshots and a pole for large rolls of paper but this looks like such a better system for small to medium portrait works.
Last winter I did two days in an office and had to invest in a 107” roll to accommodate groups and full body shots. I ended up giving the roll of paper away because storage became a hassle and solo setup can be tricky.
This is a really tempting option and I appreciate your review.

I carry one of those $20 smallrig tools in my wallet. Always have the Allen wrench ;)
Anyway… like you I’ve been using the 5x7 xdrop for years. I just ordered a pro. Thanks for the video.

Hey Booray, It's good to watch different content on your channel. I think the X-Drop Pro is reasonably prices at $174.90, especially that it is wrinkle free. Thanks for this video.

I did get the xdrop pro 8x13 sweep. I love it. Only problem is I found that the ceiling in the area I like to shoot is not quite 8 feet. I suppose the builder didn't measure correctly, lol.

@@BoorayPerry It's okay. I was able to adjust enough. Also the backdrop which comes with the xdrop pro can be used on a regular backdrop stand as well. It all worked out.

Hi Booray, do you use any 8’x13’ backdrops? Do you find it works well or do you find yourself saving some hassle and using just the 8’x8’?
    Thanks!

In my studio I use paper rolls so they're quite long. On location I only use 5x7 and 8x8. I don't know that I've ever been asked to do full-length on location with the backdrop. 📷🙂

Is there any chance to reduce the distance between wall and backdrop, even lesser than 24 inches? Perhaps by adding some weight on the legs for stability?

Maybe but I've never tried it..

Does the white make a decent large reflector outdoors?

      I wouldn't think so. It's not reflective

What if you do not have 8 feet of ceiling? Can It be lowered just a bit?
I would be using the 5 by 7 backdrop. Thank you, I just found your videos

The X-Drop Pro frame can be used for 8-foot and 5-foot wide backdrops.

I've ordered the Pro despite the massive cost hike when purchased in Australia. Too good not to have this product available for any contingency, at home or away.

Seems like Savage copied their original design and made it better, (more sturdy) so they had to come up with the pro.
