@TheZ811 Yeah I love it that they have a couple references to classic games such as Tetris and all that, it really gives the game an oldschool feeling.
Yeah, exactly what older generation games used to be. No complicated crap, no rip-offs such as online passes and DLC. Just split screen with your bro or sis, after school or over the holidays and just let the time pass by. Oh, I love being a 90's kid!
This 10 year old comment hits even harder today than it did 10 years ago, lol... The upside is we have even more reasons to be happy we've been spoiled by 90's/early 2000's. ;D
of all the great games that came in recent years, nothing quite tops the fun of Rayman Origins. It's a game you have to play to understand just how great fun it is.
I'm getting this game! I love flash animation, love the zany french cartoon style, the OST sounds great, and platforming levels look very fun. there arent too many games today that are look this.
They probably had the oportunity of bringing back the Tetris reference and all these test levels in Rayman Legends or the mobile Rayman games (Jungle Run, Fiesta Run, Adventures and Mini) but not
I love Michel Ancel's charisma! In every interview I saw him doing for this game, he always seemed like he was barely able to contain himself; he was just so excited to be working on this game. I just beat it today, and have to give him credit; he deserved to be excited. It's an amazing game. Ancel had a truly unique and beautiful vision and followed through with it. This game is incredible, and was seriously overlooked. I loved Skyrim and BF3, but this trumped everything else I played this year
correct me if im wrong, i finished this game some time ago and i dont think these levels were included. no tetris blocks, no level cutscenes, or chasing that treasure chest through many levels (?)
Its nice how the developers keep coming with new ideas for new Rayman games. The first Rayman had great graphics and music for a platform 2D game of its time. R2 was their attempt at making it 3D. Then R3 came with a scoring system. Then Rayman M came with multiplayer. Then came Rabbids to make a more competitive multiplayer with scoring. Then they went back to make origins which is something like the first Rayman but with multiplayer. They're going in circles @_@
what a brilliant game. one of my favourite things about rayman origins is, there is no dlc...its so refreshing, relaxing, i actually feel well treated just because i dont have to worry about purchasing a uncomplete game
when i was a kid, i played this all the time. Iwas the best at this game, probably because i was adicted to it and when i tried to play red faction with my older brothers i sucked, but when i played rayman with them i destroyed them. It almost brings tears to my eyes seeing it come back again. It brings back good memories.
@TheBlueBargi he's Michel Ancel, he created him, he's the creator of the blue thing. He just calls him like that because he knows that Rayman is not a really popular franchise, and says "blue thing" to make people recognize him. Plus, globox is not a frog or a toad, so he said "thing".
@arthurpprado Basically went back to what it was in the beginning: such as Megaman 9's 8-bit graphics, Sonic Generation's Green Hill and this game's colorful, lagomorph-less environment.
Rayman is what it is. a platform game with lots of levels and a cool adventure. it was the best game of my childhood and alot of other people's too, im glad they have kept it the same, it brings back memories. apart from rayman hoodlum havoc and raving rabbids, its still the good old game we know and love. thumbs up if you agree
It looks like there're mixing the gameplay style of the first game with the characters of the second and third game, whilst improving and enchancing the envirnoments and gameplay, I think it looks quite cool, I jsut hope its not too easy or short.
Having played rayman since at least 1999 at the age of four, I can say thank you for making a real rayman game, rayman ruled, rayman 3 was fun, sadly I never played 2 and then... Then there was rabids which I got with a wii 3 years ago, its fun but its an overmilked party game, long live rayman
@SteveJawbs I think it has to do with gaming being mainstream these days, so there are more developers out there. I don't think newer games suck, it's just comes with the influx of more studios. There are still quality games coming out every year.
@surmixxa No, because it's a co-op that allows you to interact, jump on you allies to reach higher zones, help each other to go on, when you die you turn into a bubble your mate has to hit to bring you back to life.....and what's that big coin in a difficultly reachable area? They didn't even care to change the shape of it. So sorry if all this at least reminds me of Mario Bros Wii....
@shadowkid1993 That's a very stupid reason not to get it, to be honest. I'm happy they are going for retail, it proves 2D game CAN be put up on the shelves, and, it'll get bigger 2D games to come out. I'm thankful for that. Also, it's not just the 360, PS3 and Wii. It will be coming to the 3DS and Vita as well.
I'm trying to decide what console to buy this for.... for the wii is it played with just the wii remote sideways like New super mario bros wii or do you need a nunchuck?
I think this game is possibly the best game I have ever seen, ever since it was announced I was so excited for it because I am a hardcore rayman fan. I just cant wait!!!! November 15th 2011 for Xbox360 PS3 and PC, sometime in March 2012 for 3DS and Playstation vita everyone. Those are the confirmed dates
I myself wouldn't go looking for a refund, it's a gaming masterpiece - you couldn't buy a better compliment to classic platforming games for that money, nor could you have such unrelenting, colourful fun! :D
Rayman is one of my top ten games right now, along with gow 3, bf 3, cod mw3, batman arkum city, mortal k 9, ultimate mvc 3, Bf 3, skyrim, deus ex hr bam what an awesome holiday starting from sept to december just splurged on these hot titles. Next ps vita with little deviants, modnation, and uncharted golden abyss, yeah tax returns baby in time to save me.
@LennLucky they're not "just" standing in front of an audience and playing video games; they're demonstrating their creation, a new game, to an audience of fans, critics, known gaming websites and magaines, etc. We call this event "E3".
I don't want to sound like some old dude, but back in my day: Rayman was on Sega Saturn and 2D was that era's 3D. I've played through the original Rayman about eleven times and I can't wait till my next playthrough, and I cant wait for this came to come out!!!
Ah... I remember beating that purple bug he's riding in the first Rayman... And riding him- GOOD that Ubi is going back to Rayman's roots. The first game is still a joy to play (and difficult).
I have this game, and trust me, it is AMAZING. It truly is. The game looks beautiful, the music and sounds are fantastic, and the controls are incredibly fluid. It is definitely up there in my favorite games of the year, and I'm very picky when it comes to production value. I highly recommend this game to players of all ages, and although you can enjoy this game by yourself, playing with a friend is just FUN. Nowadays fun is getting a bit rare in games, so why are you still reading this? Buy it!
I think we deserve a new Earthworm Jim game in the same fashion. We got Earthworm Jim HD for the XBOX Live Arcade and Playstation Network, but it's "just" a remake (that allows multi-player), we need a new epic game.
@galmann I agree, it looks very fun (especially the tetris themed level :D) and also might require some strategy to all the things that occur in the level. It looks like something to put on MY wish list!
While games like Limbo and Braid are Nice smidges of platformer fun, they're not that long or difficult. I love and remember games like Rayman and Super Mario Bros 3 where it was hard and I'd throw my control in rage, but the music, characters, and world made me keep coming back. This seems like some major fan service for us oldschool platformer junkies.
This game is really good. A welcome change to all the RPG's, FPS and such coming out at the moment, not that there is anything wrong with them. Anyway hopefully it sells well and restores Rayman to is former glory.
These levels are included.... There are so many bonus levels where you have to catch that box, there are a tetris block in a level, and there are some cutscenes in the game. Lol. Are you sure you've played this game? :D
@psx2514 You do not use the Nunchuck for this game. You just need the Wii remote, and of course you need to hold it sideways. The movement is some of the best in the genre for this console, although it isn't exactly New Super Mario Bros. Wii. But don't worry you'll get used to it quicker than you'd expect. I'd also recommend Donkey Kong Country Returns, it is also a great game, but trust me, at some points it can be very challenging, sort of like the SNES DKC games. Have fun and Merry Christmas!
Played through this game and gotten all the trophies. Must say that this game is one of the best all year. Cant really agree with the ones that are complaining about the control, if you die, it´s all your own fault in this one. I do hope that that make a nr 2 on this one, that will be a must buy for me.
por lo visto los creadores de Rayman se acordaron del éxito que tuvieron en un principio, por eso volvieron a su formato real y de verdad no puedo estar mas feliz ya que tenia 13 años cuando me di vuelta el 1, muy buen juego!!!-
I am really excited for this game. I grew up playing Rayman 1 and 2 on the Playstation, and even though both were good, I always prefered number 1. A brand new 2D Rayman is just what I need.
Aw, man! Why couldn't they keep some of these levels in the final game? That *_Tetris_* part would have been pretty cool!
Wish they could've kept the "Tetris" reference at 1:15 still in the game.
+BeauSkunk Same here.
ikr
Please continue the franchise

What happen to the Tetris level
Retro 18 removed
My favorite game to come out of E3 and one of my most anticipated games coming out. Looks astoundingly fun and creative
@TheZ811 Yeah I love it that they have a couple references to classic games such as Tetris and all that, it really gives the game an oldschool feeling.

"Deliverance" movie main banjo riff at 2:12. The Rayman team IS really cultured in plus of being amazingly creative.
what happened to that Tetris music section?
of all the great games that came in recent years, nothing quite tops the fun of Rayman Origins. It's a game you have to play to understand just how great fun it is.
2:00
hey, its the pepper from Tonic Trouble
I really hope there will be some TT refrences in this game
I remember playing the first rayman game on my computer all the time. Totally gonna get this one.
I'm getting this game! I love flash animation, love the zany french cartoon style, the OST sounds great, and platforming levels look very fun. there arent too many games today that are look this.
the tetris scene... gives me the chill
"I want to thank you, sincerely."
*Slap*
the music combined with the characters is hillarious!!!!
Why Globox don´t get any damage in this E3 Demo?
I was wondering this too.... maybe because player two was new at this and it could go wrong
played rayman 1 a millions of time, never gets old.
rayman tetris
They probably had the oportunity of bringing back the Tetris reference and all these test levels in Rayman Legends or the mobile Rayman games (Jungle Run, Fiesta Run, Adventures and Mini) but not

@chride87 Yep, it is. If you play the first game of the franchise you'll fall in love with it.
It also served as a bit of introduction that you can break transparent blocks like those.
are you still alive?
One of my favorite games.
1:40 1:49 1:56 Globox’s original flying sound
Nice PC-98 Reimu pfp
I never knew the Rayman Univers was so extensive. Or that it was originally a side scroller.
The texture artists on this game are amazing!!!!!!!!!
Talk about fantastic art direction.
best jump'n'run I've ever played so far
Looks gorgeous, can't imagine how much work must have gone into making it.
4:26 - Welcome back bad guys from the first Rayman game! lol
wow, the level design in this is pretty amazing. O_O
correct me if im wrong, i finished this game some time ago and i dont think these levels were included. no tetris blocks, no level cutscenes, or chasing that treasure chest through many levels (?)

what a brilliant game. one of my favourite things about rayman origins is, there is no dlc...its so refreshing, relaxing, i actually feel well treated just because i dont have to worry about purchasing a uncomplete game
@The3rdStrikeIsOnYou I agree, The graphics are as colorful as happiness, graphics seem to like Worms: Reloaded.
i just luv the music
so colorfull and happy
i going to enjoy this game so much :)
@misterneckbreaker88 does this game have boss fights and a real continuous story then ? please reply because I consider buying it ;o
when i was a kid, i played this all the time. Iwas the best at this game, probably because i was adicted to it and when i tried to play red faction with my older brothers i sucked, but when i played rayman with them i destroyed them. It almost brings tears to my eyes seeing it come back again. It brings back good memories.
I used to LOVE this game, long time ago. Forgot what it was called til I saw the commercial for this a couple days ago(:
@TheBlueBargi he's Michel Ancel, he created him, he's the creator of the blue thing. He just calls him like that because he knows that Rayman is not a really popular franchise, and says "blue thing" to make people recognize him. Plus, globox is not a frog or a toad, so he said "thing".
1:10 DAMN WHY WAS THAT NOT IN THE FINAL GAME.
rayman was my all time favorite game as a kid and it still is woot woot
the way globox hovers reminds me of rayman m.
@arthurpprado Basically went back to what it was in the beginning: such as Megaman 9's 8-bit graphics, Sonic Generation's Green Hill and this game's colorful, lagomorph-less environment.

this is so much like old snes/sega platformers i used to love, i might get this
I honestly would like to see a Rayman game in the 'The Great Escape' fashion. Miss that game so much.
rayman 1 = one of the best and hardest games EVER this game won't even come close to the greatness that was rayman 1
@SteveJawbs I think it has to do with gaming being mainstream these days, so there are more developers out there. I don't think newer games suck, it's just comes with the influx of more studios. There are still quality games coming out every year.

i wish they would have kept globox's disk-scratching sound effect for his glide animation
some of the best graphic i ever seen
I love the tall guy tells the other guy to stop whenever he starts getting hit haha
I think this game is possibly the best game I have ever seen, ever since it was announced I was so excited for it because I am a hardcore rayman fan. I just cant wait!!!! If you think that I say you're just looking in the wrong places, there's a lot of old style gems you can find in indie gaming for example
I missed Rayman so much, I can't wait to buy this game.
the blue guys flying sound effect sounds like the king talking in katamari
@buzzrobby at 1:55? its just a silhouette lol but it does remind me of dkcr
i hope they begin to make more rayman games. even one thats like rayman 2 or 3 those were the good old days
@Esakosarara No it really wasn't. Rayman 2 had a better story line, the bad guys are better, the music is better and it is in 3d instead of 2d.
@LennLucky they're not "just" standing in front of an audience and playing video games; they're demonstrating their creation, a new game, to an audience of fans, critics, known gaming websites and magaines, etc. We call this event "E3".

One of the best games of last year. Hands down.
Games are all about the GAMEPLAY.
Did anyone notice the "NR=1" in the Adress-gauge?^^
I love the Tetris plat-forming, and it's going to be for the 360? I'm in!
I like how this gameplay has the first ending of the actual game in it.
i love the music
beautiful graphics. Seems like a good game. Reminds me of Donkey Kong Returns Wii.
Ah... I remember beating that purple bug he's riding in the first Rayman... And riding him- GOOD that Ubi is going back to Rayman's roots. The first game is still a joy to play (and difficult).
@PossessedReaper don't worry about those guys. i think they got their own series now
Yea go Rayman :) I use to play these games so much when I was younger ahh good times.
I have this game, and trust me, it is AMAZING. It truly is. The game looks beautiful, the music and sounds are fantastic, and the controls are incredibly fluid. @YTman28 but the question is what will be his Final Smash

They should make more games like that with 2D plataform and co-op playing. Sometimes people gotta keep things simple to make it fun.
@chride87 I don't know, unfortunately I don't have an xbox360, but you can find the rom for PSX online quite easily~
I'm going be 20 years old when the game comes out but I'm still defiantly buying this game
usually im into FPS type game but im really starting to love the cartoony atmosphere of this game :)
Played through this game and gotten all the trophies. Must say that this game is one of the best all year. sound effects are awesome
@hexaman the blue thing? You mean globox right?
I am really excited for this game. I grew up playing Rayman 1 and 2 on the Playstation, and even though both were good, I always prefered number 1. A brand new 2D Rayman is just what I need.
where i can find tetris theme from the gameplay demo? or even the demo :D
1:17 TERIS!!!!!!! They are even playing the music.
Best E3 demo gameplay by the hosts haha. Loved it.
Was hoping for a game in 3D, but this looks kind of fun
it isnt just a remake of rayman 1,since it has characters, places and object from rayman 1,2 and 3.
