I played Castle Rock as a kid, not knowing that Black Betty existed. Imagine my surprise to hearing it played by my dad in a road trip years later. Still one the coolest things ever to me.

Pretty much the black betty level one was the only enjoyable level in the whole game.

One of the best games I’ve ever played. This game has no business being as good as it is. The attention to detail is astounding. It really hurts that it practically flew under a lot of people’s radar. What an incredible labour of love and passion.
I bought it dirt cheap on that docked console . Frickin took over my daily grind session gaming. Satisfying to crack 826. Challenges are casino like grab, need a hit of that lum chase

This game is the greatest memory of my childhood because when I played it, I was not alone, my older sister helped me, we had never had such a close relationship, we were finally brothers, but over time we had unequals, I only have to treasure the happiest moments with my sister

It actually makes more sense then having crash bandicoot, banjo and kazooie, Minecraft Steve, all the extra fire emblem characters, dark samus, and waluigi in smash. Rayman is literally one of the oldest characters to release on Nintendo consoles, he got on before crash bandicoot did. Plus, he has been on EVERY Nintendo console since the n64. Nobody else deserves the invitation card more than he does.
Oh and hero coming before rayman? Doesn’t make sense either, he doesn’t even have his main game on the console yet.

Ah, the memories... I still remember going to play Mariachi Madness just to hear the music. Little did I know it was just an eye of the tiger cover.
I remember the goosebumps i got the first time i played Castle Rock on a demo in Sears, i instantly fell in love with this game.
Played the demo repeatedly in Walmart because Castle Rock was so catchy.
For me it was orchestral chaos
These music levels were an amazing idea, ending your journey with a recap level with a song that slaps and amazing sync. I remember for the first few seconds when i started the level i felt normal, but then i got lost in the music and aced the level like a god
Screw the boss fights, these levels are the ones that feel like the actual challenge awaiting you at the end of a world.
This really is one of the most beautiful and creative game designs in video game history.
i remember being a kid and playing castle rock thinking it went crazy (it still does) and then heard the same tune years later in a gas station omw to florida. found out the original was black betty, i listen to it now and i think this level has single handled-ly crafted my music taste
This game is so good. Best level design in a very long time. Castle Rock (Black Betty track) was an absolute blast.

This game is almost a decade old and this is still one of the most gorgeous games of all time. And it's one of those cases were no matter what console it is on, whether it be the PS3, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, the PS Vita or anything else, it still amazing.
I’m a 2008 kid, I had this game for the Wii U and I would memorize the pattern of every song level, then ace it on the first try in front of my family members and friends, impressing everyone, especially Granny’s World Tour 8 bit.
To play these levels musically requires some mind-bending gamer strats and musician skills
And the patience to follow the rhythms. As for 8-bit, at least to me, they kinda require a good cognitive memory of each course, especially the Orchestral Chaos one

My mom and I played this when I was still in elementary school and it’s one of my fondest memories with my mom of us bonding. We would get so frustrated at levels but always made it through and we even finished the game. One of my favorite things that I’ve ever done :) best game ever

Rayman was always one of my childhood games I really can’t forget, I shared with the others I loved, the songs here are great to and a comfort I think I beet the game about 4 times already. Honestly I think I’m ready to beat it again, I thank this game so much for a lot of things.
People are gonna give Mario Wonder a lot of credit for the music levels but not even knowing about this game
Mario Wonder’s music levels are hogwash compared to these. With the exception of how exceptionally bad Gloo Gloo is outside of its 8-bit version
