- Sooooo…..wood container, epic!! Scent….epic!! Brush...epic!! Razor….epic!!!! What a great shave. I must say that this soap maybe I didn't lather correctly and was lacking a little cushion. I had some minor nicks, but the scent and the feeling of being a gentleman were well worth it! This soap for some reason takes me back and makes me feel like I am living in a different era! Super classic, renowned company, and an early staple of shaving community. The razor, blackbird, is definitely in my top 5 list of razors, but its one to be dealt with caution. Very efficient, but may bite if pressured or hurried(just like me!! )
Can't talk enough about envy shave and their products. One of my favorite brushes!!
Hope you enjoyed the shave!!

DR HARRIS triple milled hard puck soaps are the best… they use tallow as their base which makes it lather as good or better than a cream. Not much you can do with vegan based soaps that still have links in their formulas. They should’ve stuck to tallow until they fixed it
Edit: That cold water shave is no joke! I just got GFT Spanish Leather big tub cream in the mail today… It smells like TOBS Sandalwood 2.0!!!
I found that this doesn’t lather too well when the puck is new but I’ve been using mine for months now and it is very easy to work to a thick lather.
Thnx for the good info. Love hard soaps, found them to take more time to build lather @ times. The best
Good video! I like the GFT scents as well, still trying to get past the airy lather though. Even the cream, which lathers better than the soap still sometimes has a somewhat airy lather to it.
Thanks for the review!!
You saved me $$ as it's confirmed GFT soaps are still lousy.
👍
nav m it was fun to use specifically knowing the brand has been around for a very long time, but yes, many many artisans to choose from these days!

I have many, many triple milled soaps in rotation and enjoy them a lot. GFT could have easily joined them if they reformulated their soap.
@@Nav_M yeah that’s why DR HARRIS is the best traditional English triple milled soaps… they lather as good as their creams

Yah, DRH and MWF are my favorite British soaps.
Cyril R Salter hard puck is also excellent, as are the two soaps from Bath House.
Never had luck with this soap. Thanks for review
Gregory Burris thanks for watching!!! I will give it a few more tries before i call it quits!
Thanks for the review! If you have time could you let me know how you acheived that lather?
Love the handle, I know its custom but can you say where you purchased it. I have recently acquired a Blackbird. I talked to Shane about getting a longer handle but won't be out until summer. I'm a whole head shaver and have serious shoulder problems. That little bit of extra length helps me tremendously. Hope to hear from you.
Thank's
Rick
Rick reese hello!! I dont give much info on this handle because it is an unibtanium. The gentleman that makes them is kinda done making them. The company that made/makes them is Triad Handles. The one in video is specifically made for blaclbird(yes it works for all other razor heads, but it has a specific little notch that beds into blackbird head) and its made from titanium. Hope this helps!!
@@turbo4603 Thank you again!hopefully I can track something down. Have a great day Sir!
Really like the handle on that razor 👍
abe frohman thank you brother! Its teams up well with the blackbird
