'Welcome To Cleveland' rooftop still baffling Milwaukee passengers decades later

- If you google the address, it’s listed as a “tourist attraction.” Looking at this Bay View building from the street, you wouldn’t know why. The former theater’s façade is nothing special. It’s the rooftop that puts this property on the map.
Imagine someone in Cleveland, doing this. But the sign would be " *WELCOME TO MILWAUKEE!* "
I'm originally from Cleveland area, and the suburbs of Olmsted Falls and the Puritas & West Park neighborhoods of Cleveland proper are situated approx 2-3 miles out from the main runways at Hopkins Airport. Those areas would be perfect for welcoming folks to Milwaukee!
@@CO84trucker Why welcome them to Milwaukee? Why not welcome them to Detroit?
It was Wednesday
I thought it was Taco Tuesday? That would’ve inspired me! Lol
For us, it's a funny prank. For him, it was Wednesday.
This guy is a genius
Max Fosh brought me here
same
Same altho i heard about it before LMAO
Fr lol
Just saw this as a question/clue on Jeopardy tonight - it made me laugh out loud! So, I say “thank you” to the Milwaukee rooftop prankster!
Had to look for it on Google Earth... *It's still there! * . 🤣
I'm sure everyone now on a plane to Milwaukee would be cranning on their windows looking for this now "famous" Milwaukee landmark.
Pilot: "Ladies and gentlemen if you look to your right, you will see the "famous" 'Welcome to Cleveland' sign. No, the plane didn't get lost, this is not a flight to Cleveland, we are really in Milwaukee. But if you, are really going to Cleveland and you are on this flight, then it is you who is lost. Thank you for flying [insert airline name]."
: "Ladies and gentlemen, if you closely, you could Mark Gubin, the man behind this decade old joke, waving at you. Hi, Mark."
Where is it(I know it's in milwaukee but on which road?)
Sadly they won't, because pilots are very busy when trying to land a plane and making a speech like that would be distracting to their important work.
@@Ramboost007 Flight attendants could make that announcement. Or the pilot could pre-record it.
JoshLilj UA-camr reported “Government bought him out and bought Him a brand new home” because it freaked out passengers on incoming planes , bought me here.
Same
I tried telling people there it was fake. I'm from Milwaukee and no one is going to buy him a new house because of it.
@@reds1325 Thank you. I was baffled by that story.
Fr tho he lied🤣🤣
@@reds1325 If the government did, all his neighbors would be painting it on their roofs as well to get a sweet new house from the government, so they don't have to live next to an airport anymore.
i always get a chuckle whenever i fly into MKE and see this sign and I see people around me concerned. cool to know the backstory
He’s an artist and a genius.
British UA-camr Max Fosh just pulled a similar prank on Gatwick Airport bound travelers "welcoming" them to Luton Airport!
I suspect that's why UA-cam recommended me this video, actually.
That's what brought me here, after watching that other video!
He was the reason that brought me here.
How is this not taught about in local schools?!? (but seriously, he's a legend that inspired pranks like this around the world)
What an awesome old dude!!
I’d have a beer with him
I would’ve made it a little bigger. I think it would’ve been seen better
