Was looking forward to this episode for months! That looks fantastic Steve, a spectacular model of a splendid ship! Seeing the Bismarck and the Hood are museum quality it would be great to think that as a pair they stay together and in 50/60 years people will still be looking at them and appreciating the detail and hard work that went in to building it. Well done.
Hi Steve, thanks for your reply... I totally understand, doing rigging, must be so time consuming. But, you do brilliant builds and I thank you for that. I build planes and helicopters, would like to do ships, it's the thought of doing the rigging that puts me off.... I think the rigging makes the model POP!! Thanks again for all your work!! Mick
As always, a wonderful job!! I am ready to wait for new videos as long as necessary. I think so do most of the people on this channel. Good luck with new projects.
Never disappointed with your fantastic work Mr Steve. Following along on this build was always jaw dropping for me. My goodness the finest details to perfection. Absolutely amazing. Looking forward to your next build. Congratulations again.
Hi Steve, I have a 200 scale Bismack with full Pontos set that I should be starting in a month or so, thankfully I have your build to follow along with and after that a 200 scale Yamato, I have enjoyed going through all your videos, you have a real eye for detail, after watching your Hood build that too is now in my sights as a future build, keep up the good work. Regards Jeff AUSTRALIA.
Enjoyed every minute of this fabulous build Steve. Congratulations on its completion, ready for operation Rhienebung. The rigging is my nightmare and I would be ecstatic if mine looks half as good. What are your thoughts on panel line washing for these ships? I note you go for the "super clean" look, but I thought the smaller weapons, grills, gratings, rafts and fittings would benefit? Just wondering for my 350th scale build.
Interesting about the wash John. I prefer not to as on such a big model done over so many months it’s hard to get a consistent effect with any sort of weathering. But maybe the parts you mention could benefit it would be worth a try.
Hi Steve I would like to say what a great build with your Bismark . Good luck with the HMS Ajax . It was great to chat to you at the Stamford show and yes my Flyhawk HMS Iron duke has arrived.
Fantastic effort, Steve , the outcome is superb. I was disappointed not to see it at Telford but it has been well worth waiting for. If I can finish my 1/72 Arado to the standard of your 1/200 items I'll be well chuffed!
Have watched the entire build in amazement, Steve makes it look so easy, and as I am finding out it is anything but, thank god for your videos it is a lifeline. It builds into a beautiful model, when in expert hands. Am just finishing off the hull ready for painting, after carefully watching Steve's tips. I have not found any photos that suggest the modified plating on the bottom of the hull as Steve modelled, the only good views are of Tirpitz when semi capsized but even those prints are unclear. And the sonar, again never seen anything on that either. Just been reading Battleship Bismarck a survivors story by Baron von Mullenhelm-Rechberg, really great read.
Hi Steve, been waiting so long to see the end of this build she looks fantastic....But, you done all the work of camera, like the Hood, we never got to see you doing the rigging...That's what I was hoping to see. Very disappointing in deed.
Mick It’s hard enough to actually do the rigging without constantly messing around setting cameras for something that it’s very difficult to capture on video because the thread is so fine. I’d have been another four months if I’d have tried and I don’t have the time for that with other work to do. I covered the three techniques I use in the Hood build and followed them again here.
An epic adventure and a splendid journey culminating in a superb model of the Bismarck. It's been a fantastic series and an absolute joy to watch from start to finish. You must be so pleased with and proud of the achievement. Congratulations!
Hello Steve, a wonderful reveal. I would like to model the Bismarck in the 1941 guise. I was wondering if the opportunity exists to purchase a cast of your 7.7m yawl. Alternatively, would Ron be in a position to solve my little problem? Also, any associated cost/s Thankyou Steve kind regards Peter
Ron has told me he will be selling the yawl but only as part of a set of all the boats. He is a methodical and painstaking chap though so I don't think it will be any time soon.
Hello Steve, No worries at all. I will keep my eyes open for any release time frame. Cost pending, I would be interested in purchasing the Ship's boats as a set in order to to gain the yawl. Thankyou very much for the reply. Kind regards Peter@@TheModelShed
Brilliant end to a brilliant model. Thank you very much. Looking forward to seeing the 1:700 scale Ajax. Massive difference in scale, it's going to be fun. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for taking the time to produce the videos for us to learn from. The 1/700 kit will be quite a transition. I’m looking forward to it.
Stunning!! Well worth the wait, and I hope you do VERY well in the shows you go to! Please take no offense to this, there is no offense intended what so ever. I can tell by your hands compared to your work, that you are a man of large stature, and that model makes you look small when you sit beside it! That model is absolutely massive! Beautiful work!! Eagerly awaiting your next post!
Outstanding! What an absolute cracking model you have there! Well done! It's been a marvellous series, showcasing superb modelling skills snd patience.
Steve, congratulations! It is good to see your Bismarck finally finished. What an inspirational build. I am very happy to hear that you will be building another ship very soon and can't wait for the first episode of HMS Ajax.
Bravo

These 1/200 ships are a real 15 rounder, looks great and I also like the more clean museum look, what a beast, well done!

Thank you so much David I’m pleased you enjoyed the series
Well done Steve! Will we be seeing it in Telford this year?
I’m not sure Kent - this and the Hood are currently for sale: I’ve no room for them really.
Congratulations on completing a finely detailed model. Thank you for commentary and problem solving as you built this model. Well done.
Thank you

yes it turned out well thank you
It's absolutely beautiful, Steve. Hope my build can turn out half that good. I'm not using the Pontos set.
Not using the Pontos set might be a good thing - it drove me round the bend sometimes.
Absolutely brilliant I wish I could build models like that
Thank you - 60 years of practice and Im still learning.
Amazing job Steve, you must lets us know how it does at the next Telford Show.
Hopefully I won't have it by Telford Finlay - its up for sale along with the Hood - I just don't have the space
What a long strange trip it’s been. Just don’t put Hood and Bismark in the same showcase. 😉
Oh they’re best of pals now 🫣
Brilliantly done good sir! Have a brandy and a pipe, btw…does it float?
I will thank you. I don’t know our bath isn’t big enough for it.
Now it's time for the 1/200 yamato titanic or missouri
oh boy I haven’t got the stamina for that unfortunately- a good few months rest at least before one of those
Lovely to see the finished ship - quite an epic modelling journey!
It was thank you
How did I miss this final episode! Great work Steve.
Thanks Ron
The build came out great Steve.
Thanks Chris
