From over the pond , it’s been a joy watching you do this . I will not be doing Pontus on mine but you have given me a few thing to watch for . Good luck at the show.
Hi Steve great work as always .Looking forward to seeing the finnished ship It's been a great vovage watching you build it with the patience , love and care .
Looks incredible! It appears from the video that the port side railing on the forward turret has come loose. Looks like just the first two connection points. It appears to have a slight bend there and that most likely caused it to pop off before the glue cured. Ive no doubt you would have caught it before Telford.
Your Bismarck is incredible. Your videos have been a great inspiration and learning experience. I know you said it would not be possible to show the rigging going on but could you please give a brief description of your method and materials used? Thank you for putting all the work into producing these videos. It is very much appreciated.
Forgive me Steve, but at 4:18 you place two bridge binoculars on the starboard side. They appear to point inboard, whereas all the others you carefully point outboard. Just a small thing a judge might see! Looking forward to seeing her in rig and finally complete. A masterpiece.
(1) thank you for consistently inspiring me to push my skills (2) editing these videos must be pure gold for identifying spots where touch up is needed. Do you go back and do all of that all at once?
Thank you that’s very kind. The editing does throw up all sorts of fixes needed. sometimes I fix them straight away but if it’s paint touch ups I do them when it’s worth loading the airbrush.
Hello. Thank you very much for the great videos. I am currently in the early stages of building the Bismarck. I chose the same camouflage of the Bismarck as you. So my question is what colors did you use for the side stripes? Many greetings from Germany.
The stripes were a lighter/darker shade of the base XF 66. I just added a drop of white and black to get the 2 greys. You need to experiment with the mix to get the right effect.
Just a fantastic build. Ive enjoyed every episode. At around 17:20 point in the video did you notice that the photo etch on the forward turrut appears to have come free?
Hello Steve, looking back to part 33 of the build you fitted what look like short barrelled guns on the deck behind turret Dora without saying what they were. Can you enlighten me please?
Hi Steve. I really enjoy seeing your skilful approach to the kits. I’ve always been an aircraft modeller but am now keen to attempt a ship with the Pontos set. Please advise the best place/company to purchase the set from. The only one I can find is direct from S Korea and am concerned about a large undefined customs fee. Cheers Martin
Hi Martin Pontos doesn’t really have retailers in the UK (I assume that’s where you are?) so I’d go to someone like BNA in Australia or I’ve used Superhobby who I’ve found very good.
@@TheModelShed Thanks for the reply Steve. I’ll check those out. I think, apart from the cost of the kits, it’s the potential for added VAT and Customs I’m most concerned about. I’d appreciate hearing your experience of those 2 issues when ordering from abroad. I can drop you my email if you’d prefer that means of communications. Thanks in advance. Cheers Martin
Customs charges are a matter of luck - or not - I don’t recall having any import charges on purchases from either of these retailers. I suppose you just have to budget for the worst case, add 20% plus the post office admin charge which used to be around a tenner; and if it gets through count yourself lucky.
I know you said you would post an episode when you have something to update, but it has been over three weeks. I also know you just came back from your show, but I'm just hoping all is well with you and yours. Hope to see you soon.
Everything's Ok yes thanks. Since I missed the deadline for Telford in November for the ship I have been concentrating on a couple of other projects. I just need to finish the ships boats and a few railings and I'll do a final reveal in the next month or so. I just need to have her ready for SMW 2024.
One last reveal vid Gary P39. it’s not possible to film the rigging being done you need to concentrate on what you’re doing rather than setting up camera shots. I’ll show the finished rig though in the video.
Great model - still missing the last part
I know I’ll get to it don’t worry

Thank you very much 👍
Absolutely stunning Steve! I’ve enjoyed watch this whole build with you. Good luck at Telford. I would give you a gold!👍🏾
Thank you I’m hopeful rather than expectant - the standard is very high there

Looking forward to the final reveal. Thanks Steve.
Thanks Ron 👍
She's looking magnificent Steve cannot wait to see the reveal.
And good luck at Telford
Thanks Gary 👍
Looking good Steve, I'd be worried about knocking everything off at this stage...
Me too John 😬
Wow! Those small details make a huge difference! Beautiful work, and eagerly awaiting the next update!

I’ll have a go but it’s not easy with the materials being so fine

No it’s an optical illusion John - they’re the right way round. I looked at the video myself nd can see what you mean.

They’re dummy loading guns for training purposes Finlay.

Yes I am also getting concerned... Hope all is well Steve.
Just been busy getting ready for Telford this year guys - back on it now. I really appreciate your concern 🙏🙏
@@TheModelShed Glad to hear all is well, and you must tell us of all the swag you brought home from Telford!
Salut Steve,
très beau travail, tu as la précision d'un horloger suisse .
Merci Richard 🕰️ ⏰😂😂

Hi, are you going to finish the Bismarck build? Seems like this project has stalled close to completion.
Yes just the boats to fit I’ll do them when I finish the gannets
@@TheModelShed will the rigging be part of that video or will there be a few more videos?
Thx

Why is there no hoses in the hose reels?
I didn’t have time before Telford. now that I’m entering the model in 2024 I’ll be able to go back and sort them out.
