A quick video showing how to disassemble the Browning Buck Mark. I REALIZE THAT THE MUSIC IS TERRIBLE IN THIS VIDEO. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WAS THINKING. IT IS WRETCHED!
I just bought a Buckmark Micro Bull for its price, and liked this video. The music is cheesy, so what? The explanation is easy to follow, and THAT is what is important. Knowing the wrench sizes is helpful. I think you should ignore the nasty, rude comments telling you how to help others. You'll never please nitpickers like that. Rave On!
Because 95% of the pistol sold today don't need tools to field strip. SW Model 41 .22LR was designed 35 years before Buck Mark and doesn't involve screws to clean. There is no excuse Buck Mark made it the way they did. Lol even Ruger was able to figure that out!
Good video. However, too fast and too jerky with the camera. I’ll have to watch it a few times to better understand. This is a difficult gun to breakdown and reassemble. More difficult than my 1911. If I’d have known how complex the breakdown was, i I would have passed on the purchase.
Helpful video. I just got back from the range with this new gun and wasn't sure how far to break it down. thank you. But LOOSE the MuSIc dude. I keep expecting to look up and see some 1960's go go dancers. LoL
No one likes music in videos :( lol I had the same issue with my videos, people just hate it! As a creator, it feels like a nice background noise but man everyone hates on it lol
Great video, but I would have also liked to see how you cleaned each piece. I've read that, for simple cleaning, all you have to do is pull the slide back and run a lubed bore snake through the barrel, and maybe shoot some compressed air down the barrel, also spraying some lube into the mag compartment.
@@Emp6ft10in I use a snake bore cleaner, they sell those at most Gun stores and I’m sure Amazon as them. It looks like a shoe string with 2 different colors, in the middle it has brass brushes sticking out. I’ve used it for 2 months and so far so good Edit: I use the snake bore cleaner because in my case the barrel’s screw is messed up. I took it back to turners and they said “you don’t need to take it apart, just use a snake bore”
@@Killjoy0329True, if you read the manual it says to not disassemble the gun like this video, to only use the bore how you mentioned. (If you disassemble, it will void warranty)

jmc235 I'm in the same boat as you were, lol. I just bought one from Rural King for $279.00.... maybe I should have just saved my money until next for a Ruger 22/45 Mark 4 Lite :/
I had to order a recoil spring and guide rod C clip because I removed the C clip and the spring shot off and got lost outside.People you do not have to mess with recoil spring trust me!And I also dropped the gun in the safe and smashed the glow front sight.I am my own worst enemy but the buckmark is a low cost very good 22 handgun and I have nothing bad to say about this little gun.
Good information, but for Heaven's sake, please learn how to edit your videos. That way we don't have to sit through all the fumble fingers dropping things and all the time screwing in the screws not to mention the four or five times telling us where the short screw goes and not to lose the washers. Good editing and a rehearsed dialog would make a great informational video into a more palatable great video lasting somewhere around five minutes at best.
@@shockwave6416 I’ll have to check it out, the only reason I have my buckmark is because it was my dads first gun and my first gun also and now it’s just a fun little plinker
Mike Fuck yes it does. I shoulda bought a Ruger mark 4 when I had the chance.. I think now all we can get are Brownings, and cheapo Phoenix Arms guns. I’ve had good luck with my Heritage Arms Rough Rider though
I have the older style Browning Buckmark, silver with black accents. The screw to remove the barrel is not an 7/64 allen wrench. Mine is a t-15 torx wrench. The rest of the video is the same.
mmmm nothing like plastic in the first 10 seconds of a takedown video. Browning and all 22lrs that use plastic should be ashamed…. we dont like seeing plastic as gun owners….. we have to use solvents and lubricants and its easier when you dont have to worry about plastic.
Even if the takedown has a few more steps I believe it's worth it. I recently took mine apart to get at and clean the firing pin. It's well made, reasonably priced and a rel tack driver.
Actually, I kind of liked the porn music. And easy strip for sure.. Its super simple... Not sure what the big deal is with the screws. Are to the point where we cant turn an Allen wrench now without complaining?
I recently purchased a browning identical to yours. After watching your great video I attempted to disassemble mine. After removing the top strap I lifted it off the and when I removed the spring assembly it flew apart. I had a hell of a time getting it back together. After doing so I found a very small half ring on the table. I have not attempted to take it apart again but I assume that half ring was to hold everything together. Any advice, I tried to call Browning but they were closed for the holidays. A very accurate pistol.
Necro post but oh well - that small half ring you found is supposed to be a lock washer that holds the spring on that rod that is fitted into the plastic buffer plate.
I agree there are a lot of steps, but how do they compare in shooting? Which is more accurate? Which is the better gun, period? I'm asking because I'm considering both of these guns and the Ruger IV. Take down doesn't matter to me...I'm more interested in the better gun for the price. Thanks guys!
Hi Frank. After researching so many videos last night, I think I'm leaning toward the Victory. It has the optic sights already (this is HUGE for me...a must have) and it's light weight, not many flaws and in my price range. If I get the Buck Mark or Ruger IV, I'd have to put on the optic sights. Plus the Ruger costs more. Ugh. If only I'd were rich. :-)
Well that's good to know. I'm grabbing the Victory this weekend and if I see an inexpensive Buck Mark Camper around the holidays or if I like yours, then I may grab it. Keep me posted. Thanks!!
This is a great instructional video,.but i'd like to offer a suggestion on the Allen wrenches you are using, and this will make your job a whole lot easier when using these tools; go buy yourself a set of 'Ball end' allen wrenches, these 'ball end' allen wrenches will allow you to spin the screws out and in, much easier by using the ball end as it operates much like an universal joint does, while making full contact with the allen head screws. This must’ve been one of your earlier videos. Are usually really like your videos but you were out of focus and out of frame and the music was very distracting. But the more recent stuff I’ve seen was excellent
Good idea to take the barrel off, most people don't think of that. That way you don't have to worry about the slide stop to get in the way of your guide rod.
It’s fun to shoot, but taking out the barrel is almost impossible. So I use a snake bore cleaner for .22 and it works fine. One problem that gets me frustrated every time vs other guns is that the plastic piece he showed. Oh man one needs tremendous finger strength, precision and patience to put it back because the spring will push it back and shoot it out of your hand. If it wasn’t for my glasses, I’d be blind from that lol. But seriously, shooting one is fun, owning one is a hassle when it comes to cleaning. I’d recommend just getting a glock with a .22 slide on it. A bit more $ that saves you 1-2 hours of trying to put it back together lol
Good video with nice lighting and photography. But why did you cycle slide seven times after locking it back and visually and tactilely checking the chamber? That was the end of clearing procedure right there. Moreover, I found the background music distracting, irritating, and chintzy. Otherwise, good video.
So... I have an 89' buckmark silhouette. 10 inch barrel. I would like to remove the original picattiny rail which also have the front sight and rear sight assembly. I'd love to have a more standard top strap for the rear sight assembly and since the barrel is flattened on the top, to find a decent front sight piece. Original owner must have had this poodle popper zeroed in at 50 yards, cuz she's a tack driver there. Friggin outstanding really. I just want a little weight knocked off, and I'd love to have it look like the .44 AutoMag that Dirty Harry plinked at the gun range with in one of his movies, only a black version appearing plinker. Poodle popper, whatever you want to call it... I'll always be off colour humor wise. But I'd just like to lose the full length 1913 tactical rail . It just looks boring and Fat. And the parting line of the mount surface looks like a 1/16th inch (very not desirable) also an issue of a space for a whole bunch of nasty things that might be able to get in there and damage the factory finish. I'm not really thinking about a truglow type sight system. Nice and black keeps the rabbit from shooting back!!!
Hi. It sure looks easy to remember the process the way you did it! Thanks. Could you tell me how long the recoil spring lasts OR at what interval you should replace it AND where do you get it? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.
Hey James, this is Jeff. This isn't my channel but I love helping people! With a .22, you don't really need to worry about replacing the spring. I never have with any of my weapons and I've never had an issue. Same reason I don't replace/buy new mags after a certain amount of time. If you think about it, the spring in the slide is decompressed for the majority of the guns life cycle. If the spring was compressed ALL the time, then you might think about replacing it, but it will always bounce back to where it is at, at a resting point. I hope this helped you!
I bought this gun this morning. It jammed on the 2nd mag because the ejector bent. Browning told me they did not want owners to field strip these guns. I returned the thing to my dealer for a refund.
The music skipping is incredibly annoying. May I suggest changing it to it's own thing during editing so it isn't so distracting when cuts are made? Otherwise great video, thanks for uploading a clear and fairly concise disassembly guide.
Everyone has their opinion on music. it really sucks lol as a creator, its tough to please everyone. I had that same issue on my channel! I just don't use music anymore. lol

If the spring was compressed ALL the time, then you might think about replacing it, but it will always bounce back to where it is at, at a resting point. I hope this helped you!
Great video!I'll give my gun a try.[shot]
Thank you!
I thought the music was cool
I think you need the world's longest 7/64 hex to remove that barrel that's all, or socket w ext. 1/4 in socket
All you need is a set of ball end hex keys.
I bought this gun this morning. It jammed on the 2nd mag because the ejector bent. Browning told me they did not want owners to field strip these guns. I returned the thing to my dealer for a refund.
+Steven Douglas Well that sucks! And you have had a very busy day!
I just don't use music anymore. lol
Where did you get the grips from?
Thanks Great Job!
