That's a great question and I would think so as long as you don't overdo it but of course I have not tried it for that area so be cautious And of course, make sure the one you buy is for fuel
Wrong ! You do not let it set for an hour before putting it on. You put it on and finger tight after it skims over (about 15 minutes) then torque down after 1 hour. I wait at lease 12 hours before use.
my instructions say finger tighten , wait 1 hr , torque to specs . I believe the wait 24 hrs part means to wait that long before filling with fluids . I could be wrong though .
Probably the best option in this case would have been to order one of the black plastic valve covers if that metal valve cover has any bend to it at all it will leak with gasket. This permatex is thicker. It’s hard to beat it.

That might be correct, I’ve always let it sit overnight to be on the safe side and that seems to work
Wouldn't a traditional gasket be a better fix? (Not BS'ing you... I'd like to know!)

Yeah. If you don't follow the instructions, it won't work for you.
First few times I did not read instructions. You are correct it leaked.

This is good to know, thanks for the comment, I will probably try that next time around.
