What do you do if you have a family member who doesn't care if Christianity is true or not true, or if God is real or not? They just don't want to hear it and they stop you before you even finish the first sentence when you talk about Jesus Christ? My wife is having this issue with her twin brother.
There isn't really much you can say at that point. But what you can do is continue to love them and pray for them. And hopefully one day, they will change their mind.
I try to have no agenda. If they challenge me on my faith, I side-step and say, "I'd rather us talk about things we can agree on." If we decide first it will be God's decision on how we witness, and not argue. Far better to build connection, and let them come to find we are genuine, caring, loving, willing to be "non-judgmental," but recognize any argument marshals the enemy's strength. "Witness always, use words only when necessary."
The Gospel is the actual truth! Then the truth is and always will be offensive to those who don't believe in truth! Otherwise they would have never cried out " CRUCIFY HIM ". Everywhere Jesus went He always demonstrated, taught and preached the absolute truth. Then the truth will always make more than one person angry and angry enough to kill! Jesus said: you shall know the truth, and that truth will set you free. Not you shall hear the truth! Know the truth and the Truth.....Jesus!
I would believe Jesus would tell you these... Matthew 10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones (The Born Again's) which believe in me, it would be better for them that a millstone were hanged about their necks, and they were drowned in the depth of the sea. Prayer, and showing them love that you would any friend.
Don’t talk, just show. The only talking should be with God.
Pick your battles, so usually not with family. As for the hostiles, those that want to mock God, don't cast your pearl before swine.
To be the servant of all, but recognize swine and don't get near enough to them to let them bite you.
