I saw her in concert a couple of weeks ago. When I closed my eyes I could see this Judy Collins singing. Was is perfect ? No, but who is at age 80+. She was beautiful and each note brought back memories of listening to her first albums with my parents when I was in grade school. She was magical !

I just saw Judy in 2022 at the Bull Run restaurant in Shirley Massachusetts. Loved every minute of it.

Judy Collins and Joan Baez were great guitarists as well as super singers. Dylan recalled trying to finger pick like Joan when they were together, but realized he could not reach her level and he soon went back to a pick.

Fabulous! She sings another verse on the album, just before the "don't go out into the forest" verse: Cursed be that judge so cruel/Thirteen years may he lie bleeding/Thirteen doctors cannot cure him/Thirteen shelves of drugs can't heal him.

oh yeah! I thought it seemed a little short. It could be that they limited how long she played?

In fact I had it on a cassette that I thought was "bootlegged" back in early 70's. It was stolen. Heartbroken for yrs over that dastardly deed♡

Thirteenth century? Corrupt judges in golden beds is more of a late 17th/ early 18th 2:51 century motif. Thirteenth century would be more like Gregorian chants or Chaucerian tales set to lutes.

That was a great period for music. And then Dylan put it on steroids. Wish I’d been around then.

Very soon The Beatles would change everything.
