    It's probably slightly abnormal that I'm purposely searching for these old vintage commercials, there's something very magical about a time we've never lived.

    I like how they were showcasing a blush in black/white television. I really like these old ads though!!!

    At 2:03, that’s the first time that I’ve heard anyone outside of Scotland using the term cake in reference to soap. 🧼🛀

    For once, 1950s ads I haven't seen in other compilations! Most of them are 7 or 8 years old.

    I can't imagine washing my face with a bar soap like Dial Gold (although great for keeping new piercings clean, or so I've been told) or applying a conditioner with lanolin

    Why were the commercials so long like a whole episode on a series or sum

    • @zceramic5
      @zceramic5 5 років тому +7

      There was usually only 1 commercial per break from scheduled programming.

    • @notmychairnotmyproblem
      @notmychairnotmyproblem 4 роки тому +5

      Because the commercials used to sponsor whatever program they ran on which meant they could run longer ads that were far cheaper than they are today since there was not much competition for airtime back then.

      During the 70's, soap manufacturers had to stop using Hexachlorophene due to it being carcinogenic.
      Dial Soap is still available at your local dollar store. 🧼
