The Tak trilogy (yes it’s a trilogy lol) is a masterpiece and deserves a remake amazing gameplay stories music characters writing and voice acting and heart! THQNordic needs to fulfill the 2018 Nickelodeon announcement and #BringTakback
I'm late to this, but big agree. I love long breakdowns to put on, but the quality content makes it so easy!!!! So many great takes. One day, indeed. I'm curious to see which video will be the one to send him to the MOON, babeyyyyyy. For real, mans is gonna wake up to a dead phone from 5 million notifications, one day. i can feel it in my bones
In the Great Juju Challenge there wasn't an error with the villain. Crug, the short dude with wild hair and the Dark Juju Travis are different characters. If you pay attention about half way through the game Crug's voice changes because they switched places. There's even a side story line where you find Crug if you revisit some old levels.
I Absolutely Love these three Brilliant Tak Trilogy Masterpieces from my Childhood Years SO much! *Tak and the Power of Juju, Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams and Tak: The Great Juju Challenge!* They all have a Special Place in my Heart forever!
Wow, that was a really informative retrospective! I've always been curious about the franchise since my brother and I used to play Tak 2 on the GBA when we were younger. We loved the game's aesthetics, but we never got the chance to explore the rest of the series. Nowadays, it seems like Tak is a bit forgotten. I'm not even sure if the TV show ever made it to Germany, where I'm from. So, seeing everything (even the GBA games) covered so well in a nicely structured and well-written video was everything I was hoping for. Keep up the great work! You definitely earned a sub from me :)
you forgot to mention that in the console version of The Great Juju Challenge, if ya backtrack, Tak and Lok come across the real black mist tribe guy and he tells us to back track to other levels so we can give Lok the ultimate hammer weapon
@@CommandPromptGaming yeah in the console version ya go back to levels to get a hammer from Crug, it's interesting and I discovered it by accident once, I forget what all the ultimate hammer does outside of more damage, I'd have to look it up but Lok was excited to get it either way
I also found out that collecting every yorbal on PS2 Tak 1 you unlock storyboard art of cutscenes and the nubu plants gives you concept art, GameCube retains concept art from nubu plants but nothing for yorbals and makes the controls weird as heck, PS2, everything is a press of a button
Finished watching the whole thing! I've been on a Tak binge recently and I thought you covered everything thoroughly and well. It makes me so happy to see these games get love from people that aren't me lol, whenever I tell my friends about Tak they have no idea what I'm talking about. I've never seen anyone talk about the handheld ports or Guardians of Gross and I thought those parts were very interesting since I've never played them myself. Never had any interest in playing them but I may have to check out Great Juju Challenge on DS now. Good job on the video man, my only complaint is you didn't cover the McDonald's toys lol
THQNordic promised fans for a Avalanche Software Tak trilogy remake in 2018 and it’s time they fulfilled their promise! The Tak community uses the hashtag #bringTakback to get the word around everywhere so THQNordic can see the demand! THQNordic needs to #bringTakback
am I the only one that liked 1 thing from the Tak tv series and that's Lok's screaming episode? honestly Patrick Warburton is hilarious when he screams
Took me a few sittings but I eventually was able to finish this episode! As for my experience with Tak, I remember seeing commericals for his games on the few Nickelodeon VHS and DVDs I had growing up. My reaction was basically, "Oh hey, that looks cool. I wouldn't mind checking it out." But never did get any of the games. Fast forward to when the show came out, I recognized Tak and decided to watch it. And... yeah... it wasn't too good. Although one aspect of it that I remember is that everytime it was on TV, it would be the same four episodes. It never showed any different or new ones. Perhaps it was just down to what time I watched them which was always after coming home from school and going to my grandparent's house to watch TV for an hour to two. But it felt like for months it was the same episodes. It got to the point where I practically knew all the lines. But aside from that, that's basically my experience with it. That's why when you said you were working on a Tak retrospective, I was quite excited because even as an adult, I was curious on what he had to offer game wise. A tad long of a video for my personal preference but I understand why since you put all the reviews together rather than each game having their own episode. Still a great review! I'd gather that the PS2 versions of the first few games were probably the best performance wise though.
Only seeing the same four episodes of the Tak show must be what awaits us all on the bottom level of hell, lol. And yeah, it was a little long for me too. I was getting a tad burnt out towards the middle chunck. My friends and I actually started playing Fortnite during the production too. So that acted as a good break as well as a distraction. But I don't think I'll be making another long video for a while. The other reason I put them all together is simply because long videos are doing well on UA-cam right now🤷🏻♂️. BUT. As always, I really appreciate the support, dude❤️.
The og console trillogy is so goated, I've also heard the gba version of at least the first game is also good, guardians of gross is an oversimplified dumpster fire,as for the rest, idk
FINALLY! I'm not the only one that wants the nerbils back, granted I like them for a different reason (I think the nerbils are adorable) but also a far better challenge than woodies or rockies and the nerbils had better designs and variety and I would've loved to have seen the nerbil species expand in diversity, I even made the game harder by not killing nerbils except when it was absolutely necessary for progression
am I the only one that finds the nerbils adorable? OwO also I play the game without killing any as much as possible, with the acception of the sun temple as that requires it but since people find ways to break old games for challenges, there's probably a way for me to completely play the game without killing any nerbils, but I hated how the nerbils were replaced with woodies and rockies, they are not as creative and just got stale with the rest of the franchise
i think you forgot to put in why you like Dead Juju so much, however, looking at a few cut scenes, I think I know why XD Great video though, very well made and fun to go thorugh
I totally did forget. It's one of my major regrets with the video. But the reason is because he's so funny. Rob Paulson does his usual thing and is a highlight for the comedy. You certainly pay attention, my friend. Thanks for watching and pointing that out 💪❤️.
Tak 2 is filled with glitches cause the game was rushed, but the game is still fun regardless as far as I hear, it definitely looks fun despite the glitches, unlike modern games
to me the TV show was fine cause at the time not a lot of good stuff on but also my parents didn't get all the great channels like Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network, we had the lower budget rerun stuff like Teletoon and YTV and that was it, didn't get much to watch so watching Tak TV show was the fine, plus Lok's scream in the episode where he calls it The Call Of The Mighty Warrior is funny, but yeah otherwise the show was just meh but I have a soft spot for some of the meh shows as they were at least something interesting on TV otherwise I played my videogames
I really hope the Tak trilogy remake gets announced on Friday! By the way I don’t count anything from the show Nickelodeon killed Tak’s incredible legacy with the show! Wish Avalanche Software was involved with the show keep the same tone voice actors and style from the original trilogy of games
THQNordic is having a livestream showcase and they announced in 2018 that SpongeBob and Tak would make a return! BRO IT SO DOES. There are so many times where feet are either in the frame or are just completely the foucs of the episode. I'm surprised Dan Schneider didn't have anything to do with it lol.
@@CommandPromptGaming I also notice that the feet of the females, such as Jeera's are much bigger. Okay, the characters always had big feet, this was kinda the art style of the Tak series similar to Kingdom Hearts, but the focus is much bigger in the TV show. People should hide their fetishes better.
Isn't that nickelodeon thing? There was a pretty big drama about that regarding I Carly. Personally, when I saw the feet scenes CPG put I felt grossed. As a kid I'd probably laugh because it's so random, but knowing the context + hearing there's no good moral or character progress in the show it's all just disgusting.

The same thing that's in the DS version, yeah? But don't you have to go back to one of the previous levels to see that cutscene?
@@CommandPromptGaming I never played the DS version but yes this side story involves backtracking
The DS version shows that scene, but it's just shown to the player towards the end of the story. It was a cool scene too.
I like how you described ressurrection's revenge as Lok shitting himself XD yeah that actually sums it up perfectly XD
I keep rewatching Tak videos in hope the trilogy comes back to modern consoles
That's all of our hopes, friend✊😔.
