One of the funnies moments was hearing what an encounter with Darro on the battlefield was like from the enemy side: unimaginable horror - Then the very next chapter hearing Darro be like: we ran into a little shit on the way here, no biggie LMAO
This video is amazing... but its a sad fact this is the best content on UA-cam related to the Red Rising series. There should be more cool fan-made stuff out there.
that scene was brutal but necessary i think. Such hatred from been seen as nothing but bugs and ants by the gold for so long resulted in this action. The lack of humanity is what the gold showed the reds for millennia. this scene showed that it isn't the colour which makes the person but the power they hold and what they do with that power i think. Harmony was rotten to the core, she would have been hailed if she were gold just like the fear knight is for similar crimes. But yeah...this was a tough part of the book for sure, certainly hits very hard.
Same. I was relieved to get to the end. 😅 I see the book now, laying over on my table ominously. I think it just grew a couple more chapters describing Reds being thrown into wood chippers while sitting there.
You missed the part where Lysander saw the soldiers' skin and flesh getting stripped off the bone like a decomposition timelapse by the mercurian sandstorm. That one was pretty gruesome aswell lol
So, how much of the shows funding is going towards the gore budget? I mean, gory hell. This would have to be the single bloodiest series ever aired. Saving Private Ryan seems positively PG when put against the phrase "meat carpet".
iVy Deliz hahaha enjoyed... traumatized... it’s all the same! Btw, how did you find this video? I’ve been getting more comments lately and I’m wondering if it’s coming from another site?
Goryhell my goodman! All the sadness turned into a small bit of happy death you can giggle at. Almost like finally seeing Sevro riding in on a unicorn! You want to laugh but are a little scared to do so!!! I also had the same reaction to the ending credits
Okay, I think I've changed my mind about listening to the audiobook. I don't feel sick when I'm reading the words, but listening to it just does something, and it's not good.
😂Yup. “Meat straw” was nightmare fuel. You think you’ve made it out of the gore to catch a break, and then, suddenly, someone is describing being eaten alive.
@@VinyZikss Even then the first one was very explicit on the violence. The only thing imo that might have made it YA is the characters were "Young Adults" but the goal of the institute was to age them 40 years in 10 months. It was very brutal as a school. Of course this had nothing on later novels but it was still dark.
I hurt while reading that. Where did he get the ideas for this stuff? Did he go to talk to cannibals in the Amazon and interview them? It was brutal and didn’t pull back.
No, he's very clearly attracted to several women in dark age and iron gold... He's just extremely intelligent and highly process driven in his thinking patterns.
Still one of my favorite videos on UA-cam. Never gets old, and it's never not funny. I watch this to cheer me up on shitty days; who doesn't need a twitching meat carpet now and again?
Also Pierce Brown seemed to *LOVE* using the word ’bedlam’ in this book.
So much so that even a chapter was named bedlam 😅
It’s a hat tip to Cormac McCarthy and Blood Meridian!
I too almost spit out my tea when he used the words, "meat carpet"
Jessica Laflamme it’s most definitely spitworthy
Pierce cursed us all when he brought that phrase into existence
It is the fact that 'weaved' proceeds it which is particularly... um... oddly horrific
And then following up with a delicately put: “meat salad” 😭 😂
Not a pleasant read. Now when I’m patting out burgers I’m thinking of that phrase.
He encountered slight resistance at the downed storm god
Best line of the book

You know I've read this series a few times and never really noticed just how gory it is 😅
Same
Yeah it is much more apparent when you put it all in a sequence haha
What got me was when Sefi got ripped apart
there is a literal upside down crufication of a child on a tree....
@@israelperez6277my feelings were so hurt
The worst scene in this whole audiobook to sit through is the baby nailed to the tree
Team Rocket yeah I deliberately omitted that part from here haha
i had no trouble with the gore, it kind of makes it seem more realistic and brutal, but the baby nailed to a tree was a little too much for me

No kidding. That was horrific to read.
It truly is horrific, i remember my heart stopped beating reading that part of the chapter
This is my favorite video on this series.
Just finished Dark Age and this is exactly what I needed, holy shit this made me laugh. Thank you.
Alex Nieves hahaha np man! Glad we can bond over that wonderful and hellish book.
@@KEVINSAXBYY Lol so true. I think Pierce Brown might be insane.
Same. I was relieved to get to the end. 😅 I see the book now, laying over on my table ominously. I think it just grew a couple more chapters describing Reds being thrown into wood chippers while sitting there.
And there wasn't even any of Fa's butchering of Sefi or Ephraim!

I was thinking the same thing, it's unfathomable how much it would take to accurately represent the books.
I think Brown wrote this simply to keep the special effects guys from
GOT employed.
And now we know why golds use the phrase "GORY damn" instead of bloody damn; gotta rep the brand, amirite?
Wait there’s a show on the works? Confirmed?
@@Dark_Angel-dc8lz Pierce himself confirmed it but he also said if he wouldn't have any news about it he probably screwed up lol 😅
“I hope you have enjoyed this...” 😂😂😂

Ha ha! Enjoyed this quite a bit. Well done.
I haven't laughed this hard in a long time, well done, you!
Thank you! Well done YOU for making it through!
coming back to this to find a recap for Light Bringer LOL
No one ever seems to fixate on Daxxo's head being tossed around like a beach ball at a rave on the senate floor. That shit always stuck with me

The extremely funny thing is these books are STILL called YA by so many...
Yeah they might as well be NC-17
lol are they really? For me only the first one could be a genuine YA

This is seriously so great.
Thanks bud!!
Pairs brilliantly with your end card. I'M INTO THIS.
My exact internal dialogue when the book ended
Must admit that's a lot of different ways to say gore
still a bloodydamn good book my goodman
So stoked for the next one!!
I think Erin thinks you look like a good hugger because everyone is in DESPERATE need of a hug after that book.
This is excellent! I’m posting to the Reddit
What a monster of a book. But yeah meat straw and Red Rain was… pretty freaking cool 🤣
Outstanding!!!!
Ephraim is just the best tho. Poor dood.
"Worthy"
What a way to go
Long live the reaper
It’s a great book😂
You didn’t even put in the part where Fa does the blood eagle on Sefi!
Dude hahaha dude I couldn’t even include that, it was too traumatizing for me
Kevin Saxby I was so uncomfortable during that part. Brutal scene!
I hurt while reading that. Where did he get the ideas for this stuff? Did he go to talk to cannibals in the Amazon and interview them? It was brutal and didn’t pull back.
Withertails? lmfao
😂 that book is great but brutal
howling
Should I be laughing? I dont think i should be laughing
Ahaha 😂 are you me
I hope you are allright brotherman
FUNNIEST VID EVER
