    Also Pierce Brown seemed to *LOVE* using the word ’bedlam’ in this book.

      So much so that even a chapter was named bedlam 😅

      It is the fact that 'weaved' proceeds it which is particularly... um... oddly horrific

      And then following up with a delicately put: “meat salad” 😭 😂

      One of the funnies moments was hearing what an encounter with Darro on the battlefield was like from the enemy side: unimaginable horror - Then the very next chapter hearing Darro be like: we ran into a little shit on the way here, no biggie LMAO

    • @TheYorkshireBricker
      @TheYorkshireBricker 2 роки тому +6

      that scene was brutal but necessary i think. Such hatred from been seen as nothing but bugs and ants by the gold for so long resulted in this action. The lack of humanity is what the gold showed the reds for millennia. this scene showed that it isn't the colour which makes the person but the power they hold and what they do with that power i think. Harmony was rotten to the core, she would have been hailed if she were gold just like the fear knight is for similar crimes. But yeah...this was a tough part of the book for sure, certainly hits very hard.

    So, how much of the shows funding is going towards the gore budget? I mean, gory hell. This would have to be the single bloodiest series ever aired. Saving Private Ryan seems positively PG when put against the phrase "meat carpet".

    • @KEVINSAXBYY
      @KEVINSAXBYY  5 років тому +8

    • @Spartan1312
      @Spartan1312 2 роки тому +4

      @@VinyZikss Even then the first one was very explicit on the violence. The only thing imo that might have made it YA is the characters were "Young Adults" but the goal of the institute was to age them 40 years in 10 months. It was very brutal as a school. Of course this had nothing on later novels but it was still dark.
