    Nice video, thanx for this. I love the way the leather successively comes into shape and is finished and polished all the way. And, seeing this line of production I can understand that these holsters cannot be cheap. Nice piece of craftsmanship.

      Thank you for the complement. This is exactly why I make the videos. It gives people an opportunity to see the value. Sometimes its easy to get caught up in the "cost" of something and not consider whether it was made by a craftsman that cares what the customers wants and needs are.
      Thanks again for the reply.

    Great video! Earned my sub. Let me share a couple tips with you. Don't use any oils when finishing instead use a conditioner so the oil doesn't take out any of your molding. Try burnishing the edges with the dye. Dampen the edge with water and then put some dye on and then burnish. Your edges will be even better. I'm not saying anything is wrong with anything you do because that is really a awesome piece. Just like to pass things on to fellow leather craftsman that I have discovered along the way :)

    Sir, you make BEAUTIFUL looking holsters nice to see a true craftsman at work and the options you offer is great ie colors , exotics, laser, .etc. etc. I do have couple questions on your iwb all leather holsters does the top of the holster collapse when re holstering and on your owb all leather holsters the attachments to the belt does it hold close to the body without roll . Again Sir very BEAUTIFUL looking holsters

    • @crazy-eyewoodguy4489
      @crazy-eyewoodguy4489  7 років тому

      On the collapsing.....Thats some what of a loaded question. The mouth of the holster is stiff and will hold open under what I consider normal belt pressure. LOL if you use a come along to tighten your belt probably not. :) The loops hold tight enough not to let your gun sag out. Obviously they are not as snug as a pancake style holster. I hope that helps.

    Just found your page. Can you recommend a decent laser (I see this was filmed in 2017). I don’t know much about them, but sure saves time on cutting & like the ability to make designs like the skull. Gorgeous work. I guess that pattern could also be used for a paddle holster as well (substitute slots for the IWB straps). Enjoyed seeing you use the hydraulic press. I don’t have a vacuum or hydraulic press, but can modify my Kydex press & clamps to get the job done. Thanks for sharing your work.

    I just bought a xtool s1 laser and it is on the way. I saw you burn your holster with your laser. I have struggled to find a video on that, what software are you running, and can you scan your holster patterns in and burn them to scale without having to manipulate them? By the way I really like the air pump on your press that is a great idea.

    • @crazy-eyewoodguy4489
      @crazy-eyewoodguy4489  4 місяці тому

      I used the basic software that came with the laser. - BUT- most of my patterns were made in Adobe illustrator and converted to a DXF file . I never found a good way to do things where I wasn't manipulating things. I just had too many patterns and graphics. Im sure it can be done but I was winging it.

    Great video! I have been doing leather for about 2 years now and just now starting on holsters. I wish I had the experience and tools you have. And in particular the press. You get much better definition with it. And , if you don’t mind, about how much larger is the top half to the bottom? I’m having trouble with that part.

    Excellent video my friend. My wife is not happy with me watching your video's every tool you went to next she would say "Oh Lord" we cant afford that, When you went to the press, she was like, sheesh, finally something we have then she heard you running it and she was like "Our manual one is just fine."
    Quick question, do the locking button snaps have a larger center than the standard line 24 snaps, the reason I ask I have to keep manually filing the screw heads down a little all the way around to get them to fit into the male side of the Standard Line 24 snaps.? Or have you found a screw head that will fit into them better than the ones you get from the DIY holster stores..?
    Just FYI, I was sold when i seen and heard you talking to your daughter. Mine are grown now and Moved out of the house, I am sure you have heard it time and time again, they grow up so fast, but they really do, Seams like the other day mine was sick and I had her laying one my chest, now my youngest is 21 and the oddest daughter is 24, sheesh they grow up way to fast.
    Thanks again for the fun videos my friend and have a blessed weekend.

    There is much to like in this holster but I do see a potential issue with the design itself. I personally don't think there is enough room to grip the gun without incurring some interference from the belt loop. I think that on that side of the holster the design should be changed in a few ways. First I would make the holster wider, which in turn would move the belt loop further away from the pistol grip. Second, I would not have the holster's profile on that side moving upwards as it approaches the belt loop. This too is reducing the space for gripping the gun. I would have it come straight across in a horizon fashion as it moves towards the belt loop. And lastly, I would not have the belt loop itself sticking about the body of the holster. This too is reducing the space need to grip the gun with any interference. I don't think I have the ability to post any sort of graphics files, so I'm hoping that what I have written will make some sense.
