Hello everyone! Just a note on Anya’s story. She was always expecting to meet a mother but she had left the picture and with where she was, Anya was never able to find out. She’s still on this journey to figure out what happened with her birth parents. Her half brother and sister were in the picture as they were with the grandmother. The mother was never clear with Anya or her grandmother too. She may have left and never came back. Thank you for watching! 🙏
As an adoptive mother of a wonderful five-years-old Russian boy, I really appreciate what you're doing, Alex All of us need to know our own origins in order to build our identities. And we need to make peace with our past - if needed - in order to live serenely. Roots are so important to any human being to grow up in a harmonious way. Your work has such a great value to me and my son. God bless you!
Anya's wisdom (expressed clearly toward end of video) is EVERYTHING. Patience with the processes but especially with the people is key. As an adoptee, once I got it in my head to search, it was ON. I didn't want to sneak attack anyone, though. My bio mom did me a HUGE solid by giving me a chance at a better life. I wanted to thank her & to tell her everything was fine; that if she was holding onto any guilt, she must let it go. I also wanted to find out my medical history because I was thinking of starting my own family. As adoptees, we all know the feeling of being at the doctor & not being able to answer any of the family history questions. Thing is, once I brought other people into my journey, they had fears & anxieties & issues of their own. I had to make decisions about setting boundaries that I never even considered. My adoptive family IS my family. I wasn't looking for a replacement. Other than definitely not wanting to hurt anyone, I didn't consider what my turning up out of the clear blue sky might actually mean to others. I also had to adjust to learning what little info I did have was almost entirely inaccurate. Anya's perspectives struck such a chord with me. I hope she gets the answers she seeks - for herself & her kids.
Just got around to watching this video---it was extremely enjoyable. Anya is a wonderful person and certainly has the right outlook on the difficulty she has ahead of her but his tenacious to keep on. I hope she is able to find the missing pieces in her Russian family. She has a lovely family. Best wishes to her in finding her roots. I hope she comes back on with you if she is successful.
Very nice person. I got that she does not know what happened to her birth mother? No information on her at all? Hope she can find out more birth family history.
It's wonderful to find out about your Biological side of the family as to know and also see who you look like and if ttere are more siblings!but also important to never stop loving or forgetting your adoptive parents😊they raised you and are your parents always.
Thanks for sharing! I love love love hearing these stories. Also loved the photo reenactment at the end. 😁 Curious-if you can share, what happened to her mother? Is her grandmother paternal or maternal? ❤
Unfortunately with her mother, she went missing. Grandmother is connected through her birth mother however with a different father. It’s a complicated family tree. But I know for Anya, she will continue to find out more as her journey continues :)
